  • When Obama claims that his distant-cousin Brad Pitt got the better looking side of the gene pool, Barbara declares, "We thought you were very sexy looking"
  • Obama tells Joy that he can withstand the Republican attack machine: "I'm skinny but I'm tough," he says
  • Obama discusses Rev. Jeremiah Wright: "Had the Reverend not retired...then I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying there at the church"

Here's more about his pastor/mentor, Jeremiah Wright and the primary season:

1. Babs needs to get 'some' before she makes a complete fool of herself. Does that make me ageist, sexist or just honest?
2. I prefer Brad as President - he has Angie and a rainbow family - something for everyone. Now I'm just delusional.
3. Obama does 'sexy' well. Great. He cannot speak coherently unless he has a speech in front of him written by someone else. Do we want a sexy figurehead?
4. I am black just in case anyone holds up the RACIST card. Sexism is an accepted sport, racism is a hyper senstive novelty that people like to wave around as some kind of defensive and offensive strategy (to the point you cannot state the obvious). Unless you are rich and then the colour of your skin is a non issue. Right Oprah? There are racists who are black and racists who are white and everything in between. Lets accept the obvious.
5. I belonged to the same church as Thy Sexy One and its extremely deceitful of him to say he was just 'about to leave the church'. I left after one week. This man is there for 20yrs and just happens to finally get it, that it's evil?
6. Anyone who lives by Wright's guiding principles (otherwise why go to church, for show?) is either particularly stupid or dangerous.
7. Sexy doesn't work with terrorists. And we don't have 20yrs before he finally 'gets it' that there is a major difference between evangelical and

Obama said to Hasselbeck "Imagine if someone played 5 of the stupidest things you said in a loop" and the crowd was like :) I enjoyed that part probably too much and Joy laughing at the thought of that

Just five? How could anyone possibly chose only five stupid things that Hasselback has said to put in a loop?

Who are you to tell people what to do?

I listened to both....Wright's full of rage, Obama's a classic cya speech.

And now we are supposed to believe he would have left the church if Wright had stayed.....that is as fluffy on his running on a platform of change, which is what you do when you don't have any substance.

Obama was caught in another lie today regarding taking money from oil men, so I am not feeling him alot more than usual.

Obama's speech is great:

Please keep your opinion to yourself if you have not listened to both speeches.

Hope this blog doesn't censor this information again. Otherwise, freedom of speech is NOT in their beliefs. It will be on FOX I'm sure next week......Anyway, whats your take on Rev. Wright having a $ ONE MILLION DOLLAR mansion built for him? And in Tinley Park, Illinois which is 30 miles away from his area where his church is located. In a predominately exclusive upper-class area. If the progressives and his followers love him so much, wouldn't a comfortable $80,000 home (the kind the 'white devils' live in) have been sufficient? Then with the $920,000 left over they could have served the NEEDY. Just asking?.....see today's Chicago Sun-Times (3/29/08, Saturday) for story and details.

Hey imagine that, a black man with a ONE MILLION DOLLAR mansion. He must be selling crack or maybe he invested in oil or arms or maybe Osama bought it or maybe it no of your damn business.

I don't know where you live, but where I live you can get new 4,000 square foot house for $1 million. That's not exactly a mansion. I'm near DC and in the city $1 million will get you an upscale condo or a fairly large old house in a very good neighborhood. Also, many African America churches own the home of their pastor and it's passed on from pastor to pastor. I guess your reference to "white devils" (it should be blue eyed devils) which was a phrase used by Elijah Muhammad of the Nation of Island that originated when blacks were being hanged in this country, is really passe'. You should go to a mosque and see if they still use that term.

Here's what Clinton is trying to do. Since she was caught LYING totally about her foreign policy positions, her stance on NAFTA, her taking credit for the SCHIP, Peace in Ireland, Opening borders in Kosovo she HAS to change the subject back to Rev. Wright. In case you haven't noticed, Clinton is the one with the credibility gap - not Obama. Here's how I see if. After the Clinton Machine have put all their considrable "thugs" to work looking for bad stuff on Obama and all they have is something somone else said - I say this guy is as clean as we have ever seen running for president. If we want to go down the road of guilt by association, Clinton will surely lose that argument. Look at the thugs who are out front - what do you think about those that are still hidden. Try Rev. Manning - go look at him on YOUTUBE with his racists rants AGAINST Obama (and this rev is black). You will clearly determine that he is nuts, however, you need to know that Hillary has earmarked $1.5 million for his church and beliefs - hummmm. Now why haven't we seen her earmark list - what is she hiding? Put the focus back on Clinton!!!!!

From what I have seen so far, I can say that the Republicans deserve to continue to rule America until the Democrats stop being political hypocrites.

Barack Obama's support is waning and he is trailing John McCain in the presidential polls.

The American Catholics, Evangelicals, Jews, Latinos and baby boomers will vote for John McCain if Hillary Clinton is not the nominee.

Face realities and stop day dreaming and wishful thinking.

Dear Barbara Walters,I ahd always respected you as a journalist while I was growing up.
Now and then I still enjoy some of your recent work.

BUT I must ask you-what has happened to your professional integrity. We are in the middle of a presidential campaign for goodness' sake.

is this what you have turned into? Is all you can talk about with regards to Sen Obama is the fact that you find him 'sexy"?

Shout out to all independent journalists, citizen journalists and all concerned citizens...PLEASE anyone follow up on the comments (ANY COMMENT) on this website and REFUTE or agree with what the author and/or the bloggers & their credible links- are presenting.

We need the serious questions to be asked.

Thank you Ms Walters for this 'lovefest' with Sen Obama.

Sen Obama supporters-warning- this article plus blogs WILL make you very uncomfortable if you read it & try to EXPLAIN what is going on here...

Did Rev. Wright actually acknowledge that his remarks were offensive, like Obama said on The View?? I think we would have all heard about it if he had. Obama previously said "if he hadn't retired, I would have left...".
Now he's saying "If he hadn't retired and hadn't acknowledged..............I would have felt uncomfortable staying".
Now he's trying to make it seem like Wright was apologetic about his comments. And he's merely "uncomfortable", rather than definitely leaving. I suspect the only thing either Obama or Wright are sorry for or uncomfortable about in relation to this, is that it has been made known to the public. And if he truly meant what he said in that speech, he would have done an impromptu speech, from the heart, with no preparation. Instead, he waited 5 days. So much for swift responses.
This whole issue, and the lies he's told about it, fly in the face of his entire campaign message. That's the disturbing thing - we all know that politicians lie....but isn't this the guy who is running on the platform of truth, change, and not more-of-the-same?

Pastor Of Clinton's Former Church: Don't Use Wright To Polarize
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/25/pastor-of-clintons-forme_n_93418.html

"The pastor at the church Clinton did once attend has expressed public support for Wright. He's proclaimed it a "grave injustice" to make a judgment on Wright based on "two or three sound bites," and criticized those who "use a few of [Wright's] quotes to polarize."

Last week, Dean Snyder, the senior minister at the Foundry United Methodist Church in D.C. -- which the Clintons famously attended while in the White House -- released a little noticed statement offering sympathetic defense of the totality of Wright's work.

"The Reverend Wright is an outstanding church leader whom I have heard speak a number of times," Snyder wrote. "He has served for decades as a profound voice for justice and inclusion in our society. To evaluate his dynamic ministry on the basis of two or three sound bites does a grave injustice to Dr. Wright, the members of his congregation, and the African-American church which has been the spiritual refuge of a people that has suffered from discrimination, disadvantage, and violence. Dr. Wright, a member of an integrated denomination, has been an agent of racial reconciliation while proclaiming perceptions and truths uncomfortable for some white people to hear. Those of us who are white Americans would do well to listen carefully to Dr. Wright rather than to use a few of his quotes to polarize."

Call it corny, but I really do believe that Obama listened to so much hatred from his Pastor over the years, that it inspired him to run for President to try and heal this nation and bring people together. I believe he is sincere, when he says that he wants to unite this country.

oscarp, (and I am addressing you as if you are an honest commenter and not a troll)

I'm not quite sure what you mean. To this black person it seems like you're saying that everything was fine until we started to talk about race. But surely this can't be what you mean. Maybe everything was fine for people who preferred not to see racism. Bringing up race makes all the things you'd closed your eyes to reappear. But, jeeze, didn't Katrina do that briefly? Maybe not. This is so like what the Southerners used to say when them thar Northern whites came down stirrin' up the Negros, who were perfectly happy before. Well, just because you choose to think this country is racism free doesn't mean that it accurately reflects the real world. And in any case, what do you think could be bad about an honest discussion between people like you who think there is no problem and people like me who think otherwise? Aren't you even curious as to why someone might have a differing opinion? Dialog is what Obama is calling for. Maybe you'd rather NOT dialog because you simply don't care. You are free to be that way, but please don't delude yourself into thinking that race is not still a real issue in America. Sweeping sh*t under the rug doesn't make it vanish, it just makes the stink harder to find.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:30 PM on 03/29/2008

Apparently you are naive. You think Barack is dividing the nation; Hill began with this goal (post Iowa) and has revved up even more since.

Thanks for proving that the most loyal of Clinton supporters are willfully ignorant.

He is trying to heal the nation? What a joke. I guess his supporters are also trying to do that.

Please, this is getting too funny.

No matter what anyone says, Obama makes very intelligent and convincing responses to just about anything.

It seems most people find him either calculating and evil, or earnest and sincere.

I happen to believe he is the latter. The idea that he is some sleeper cell / Manchurian candidate and going to enslave whites or sell out the country just seems like hogwash- right up there with the Jews causing 9/11.

I think this straw-man reverse-racism crap is a smoke screen for the well established murderous hatred leveled against blacks.

I wish I could've gotten to see Sen. Obama on The View this morning. And I HATE The View, with or without Liz Hasselbeck.

But I'd be careful about which YouTube videos you link to. I went to the URL in the video, and in its description it said:

"We just learned that Senator Obama will be on the View. Once again the story of the Pastor will continue to be spinned [sic] by the Jewish Media. Obama defended his religion it is about time the Jewish community stop agitating Obama supporters. You may control the Clintons, Gov. Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania the Clintons, the NBC, FOX and CNN etc..You even denied our former President Carter from addressing a University. If this continues we will march for the first time to stop your intimidation tactics. Enough is enough!"

This is not the kind of words we need to be hearing from anyone involved with the Democratic Party. Leave this business with the far-right anti-Semitic crowd. I'm not trying to be a concern troll here; I just want us to be safe here.

So what the description said is not politically correct...but does that make it incorrect?

For most of us following these events closely, it is obvious that many in the Jewish community are after Obama because they are concerned that he may actually be evenhanded when it comes to the Israel-Palestinian issue. An evenhanded approach would increase our credibility in the world and increase the safety of all Americans. The first priority should be America and the safety of her citizens.

Hmmm...curious...I just submitted a comment that the description in the URL to the video while politically incorrect, may have some truth to it and my comment did not even show up as being moderated.

It is no secret at this point that many in the Jewish community are not fans of Obama because he seems to be more evenhanded about the Israeli-Palestinian issue. And many of the powerful in the media and politics are Jewish.

So why can't that be openly discussed?

Questioning the actions of Israel and some in the Jewish American community while wanting a fair solution in the Middle East is not anti-Semitism - it is the smart thing to do and in the best interest of the United States.
