A new memo out from the Clinton campaign:

False Advertising: New Obama Ad Falsely Claims He Does Not Accept Money From Oil Companies

Phil Singer: "It's unfortunate that Senator Obama is using false advertising to explain why he can be trusted to do something about energy prices. Senator Obama says he doesn't take campaign contributions from oil companies but the reality is that Exxon, Shell, and others are among his donors. I wonder if they'll fix the ad."

A new ad by Sen. Obama running in Pennsylvania falsely claims that Sen. Obama does not accept money from the oil industry. In the ad, Sen. Obama says "I'm Barack Obama and I don't take money from oil companies or lobbyists and I won't let them block change anymore."

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Sen. Obama has received over $160,000 from the oil and gas companies. Two major bundlers for his campaign -- George Kaiser and Robert Cavnar - are oil company CEOs. Sen. Obama has accepted money from Exxon, Shell, BP, Chevron and just about every other major oil company. Just last month, Sen. Obama accepted another $8,400 from ExxonMobil, $12,370 from Chevron and $6,500 from British Petroleum.

In 2005, Sen. Obama voted for the Dick Cheney energy bill, which was written in secret with the oil industry. Hillary Clinton opposed Cheney's energy bill, has a plan to eliminate oil industry tax breaks, and would require oil companies to contribute to a $50 billion strategic energy fund to jumpstart research and investment in clean energy technologies.

Here's the ad:

From MSNBC:

However, many of those contributions appear to come from workers at the firm not just executives. For example, Patrice McGowan, an Exxon-Mobil shift supervisor, who lives in Joliet, Ill., has donated $982 to Obama as of January. She also has a blog profile on Obama’s campaign Web site.

“I am a single woman who has worked shift work all my life, sometimes never seeing another woman on the job for weeks,” her profile reads, in part.

Individuals. Interesting twist, Clinton camp. Kind of like how Obama's not a "professor," just a "lecturer." BFD.

Hillary is such a liar. Those were contributions for his senate campaign in 2004. Obama is taking no lobby money for his presidential campaign 2008. He gets more than enough from the Internet. And Clinton publicly stated in a democratic debate that she will keep taking lobby money for her campaign. Hillary is the lobby candidate. Not Obama.

The Clinton's drug out the arguement about that Cheney energy bill before. I am highly surprised they are doing it again. Notice how they really don't discuss anything about the bill itself just that "it was made by evil trolls in a cave" and "that scary Muslim Obama guy voted for it" I'm paraphrasing of course. The truth is that, that bill WAS A GOOD THING. It's too much to list why it was good but feel free to go read it yourself http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/energy/ . People who have cared over the years tend to be generally shocked when the White House does something sensible much less something good.

Why did Hillary vote against this bill? She doesn't hate America ... as far as I know.

The CEO of a company donates money and you are saying it was not the company, but the personal donation of the CEO?

GWB can send cash through the back door and a messenger delivered it and can still lie that he was not the one who sent the money.

The oil companies can use any of the proxies to fund Barack Obama's campaign.

Barack Obama lied.

Hillary's back to distorting reality. They are equating taking money from individuals who happen to work for oil companies to taking money from the oil industry lobbyists.

Since Obama has raised so much more money than Hilldog, it's not surprising that he would have raised more money from those who work in the oil industry or any other industry for that matter.

He has NOT raised more money from those that work in the oil industry.
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/636357/who_took_the_most_campaign_money_from.html

And unlike Clinton, he has only taken it from employees and not lobbyists, or PACS, which means it's just individuals that have contributed small donations.

This information did NOT come from the Clinton campaign FIRST!!! It is from an article in the New York Times. While the reporters showed that Obama got approximately $217,000 from oil companies, particularly Exxon and Shell, it also showed that Clinton got approximately $300,000 from the oil companies over the years she has been in the Senate but Clinton DID vote against Cheney's energy bill which gave Obama, as well as McCain (another hypocrite on lobbyists), much of the funds from the companies. It might be useful for some of you to check out the NY Times or the Washington Post before blaming the Clinton campaign. And what is MOST important here is that Obama has said, in his most sanctimonious tone, that he doesn't take funds from lobbyists but that Clinton does. Sure.....

One Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars. Well I guess he's in the oil industries pockets. So if we use this logic, you know that the amount of money received by these donors is going to effect his decision when it come to how he deals with the oil industry, Well then I guess if we use that logic, the Millions that he has received from all the little people like myself means that he is going really take care of us.

Who cares anymore, really?. The Clintons are finished and the media are just trying to maintain interest for their advertisers. They are using the Clintons as fodder. Look at all the responses on all the blogs, the Clintons are being derided and ridiculed. There is no mercy and their is no counter attack worth speaking of.

The New Clinton Camp strategy is raise the negativities so the opponent will look more negative than yourself. I believe we are going to see a lot of this in the coming days!

And for those who don’t know that Obama campaign was originally funded by the Food for Oil Program in Iraq, I suggest you read the following article:

I think it's fair negative campaigning. At least she's not using the "He's too unethical" approach like he is.

His attack on her character has been a bit hard to watch, particularly as his surrogates run around claiming it's so negative that she should get out. Are they hoping we'll not notice exactly who has been so negative? *hooting*

This is fair game.

And he's caught again........lying.

I agree. Please bear in mind that this slime is coming from the candiate
who has yet to release hers or her husband's tax returns, a matter
easily accomplished. This is also coming from the camp that
has so far been unwilling to release the names of the major
contributors to the Clinton Library. Give me a break!

Every news organization, and believe me every one of them would
love to release some dirt that shows Obama is really just another
sleazy politician, has acknowledged that Barack Obama has raised
his campaign war chest on conributions that average justs over
$100.

The problem is that everytime she tries this her own negatives go up. Can a candidate have 100% negative ratings?

This is a typical Rovian tactic that has been used over and over again by the Clinton campaign:

1) Attack your opponent's strength (in this instance Obama's honesty/integrity)
2) Falsely accuse your opponent of the very thing you are guilty of (taking money from Big Oil)

NEWSFLASH!!!!!!!!!!

CLINTON CAMPAIGN ACUSES OBAMA OF ACCEPTING DONATIONS FROM PEOPLE WHO PUMP THEIR OWN GAS AND GET OIL CHANGES FOR THEIR CARS!!!!

I'm sick and tired of this. Any review of Obama's donation records, linked all over the place here, reveal his biggest donations come from INDIVIDUALS.

As to Huffpost I think they were just reporting what the news said, but they need to change the headline.
Everyone knows they are pro-Obama, This was a flub up.

Bad Headline.

Bad Huffpost!

I am, in part, staunchly for Hillary because I agree with you Kennedy. Obama's base is a group that I don't believe gives a dang about pocket-book Dems. They would sell us down the river in a heartbeat.

They are the elitists. They think everyone is stupid but them. Everyone else is a racist. They are the "special ones."

I do not like that elitist attitude one little bit. I note their leader sounds academic and manages to not make a lot of real sense most of the time.

My chief complaint again the elitists is simple. They seem to have bought into their own notion that a college degree somehow makes them superior.

Where they got this notion, I'll never know.

But one thing that I'm sure about. He represents a group of people who are THE most mean-spirited and unfair bunch I've seen in my lifetime. I'm astounded at the crudeness and the actual attititudes displayed. There is such a lack of respect for people that it takes my breath away.

This group should not be granted any credence. They should not be allowed to buy this election.

BTW, there's no pool there, it's the freaking ocean. and that's not HIS.
