Bill And Hillary

**UPDATED 03.29**

In an article on the obstacles Hillary Clinton faces in regards to winning the nomination, The New York Times notes that despite the increasing pressure on her to step aside, Clinton is still refusing to give an inch:

Compounding the challenge, one of Mr. Obama's most prominent supporters, Senator Patrick J. Leahy of Vermont, said Mrs. Clinton should quit the race because she hurt Mr. Obama "more than anything John McCain has said."

The Clinton campaign showed resolve in the face of the developments, rallying supporters and donors and enlisting prominent surrogates to fight back. Mrs. Clinton told aides that she would not be "bullied out" of the race.

In a conversation with two Democratic allies, she compared the situation to the "big boys" trying to bully a woman, according to interviews with them.

On the campaign trail, Mrs. Clinton said she was in the contest to stay.

On Friday both Clintons struck defiant notes on the trail in response to recent suggestions from leading Democrats that Hillary should end her campaign.

From MSNBC:

Just in case you were wondering what Hillary Clinton's No. 1 fan thinks of recent calls for her to drop out of the race for the Democratic nomination, Bill Clinton has three words for you: "Bunch of Bull."

"All these people tell you, 'Aw, we oughta shut this thing down now; the Democrats are so divided,'" Clinton said at a campaign event here. "That's a bunch of bull."

From the New York Times Caucus blog:

To answer questions that have been swirling around her candidacy all day, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived here in northwest Indiana - just a few miles from her Democratic rival's home on Chicago's South Side - to unequivocally say she has no intention of leaving the presidential race.

"There are millions of reasons to continue this race: people in Pennsylvania and Indiana and North Carolina and all of the contests yet to come," Mrs. Clinton said. "This is a very close race and clearly I believe strongly that everyone should have their voices heard and their votes counted and that includes Michigan and Florida."

Then, she added: "There is a lot still to be done and I'm looking forward to campaigning hard over the next several months."

Nothing happen today?

Or is the rest so bad huffy has to concentrate on comedy?

For example

Katrina victims may have to repay money

NEW ORLEANS - Imagine that your home was reduced to mold-covered wood framing by Hurricane Katrina. Desperate for money to rebuild, you engage in a frustrating bureaucratic process, and after months of living in a government provided-trailer that gives off formaldehyde fumes you finally win a federal grant.

Hillary’s constituency is being distilled into a hard core cadre of zealots. Like George Bush, Hillary is seeing progressively more moderate support boil off with each fabrication and increasingly impetuous act. We are nearly at the point where we see only the pure essence of the Clintons remaining- a concentrated amalgamation of deceit, arrogance, denial, misogyny and a fanatical belief in entitlement.

A harbinger of Hillary’s inevitable demise is the dwindling choir of justification and rationalization found on these comment boards. The previously overflowing claims of media bias, dirty tricks and gender bigotry have been systematically superseded with sarcasm, ridicule and even pity.

While her remaining adherents continue to suffer the delusion that Hillary is fighting a good fight- a fight to the death- never surrendering, never compromising, it’s becoming more and more apparent that her purpose is now to cause as much contamination of the inevitable nominee as possible while issuing adoring praise on the GOP opponent. Only by certifying an Obama loss in the general election can she hope to rise from the ashes of calamity like a phoenix in 2012.

McCain/Clinton 2008!

Because the Clintons have demonstrated a willingness to strong-arm, to drop-kick whomever is in their way, and to change their story to fit whatever narrative is expedient on any given day (i.e. to lie and behave in a completely amoral or post-moral way), my fear is that they will CHEAT in the remaining elections to whatever degree they can the way Bush Co. probably cheated in Ohio in '04.

Whether or not they believe it's for the greater good, I can't say. I just know I fear that they will do it to widen the margins in PA or push Clinton over the edge in Indiana so they can claim momentum and grab Super-D's.

I have pointed to this story before (obviously it had no traction in MSM); I think it bears repeating:
http://www.nypost.com/seven/02192008/news/regionalnews/mike_bloomberg_claims_vote_fraud__98367.htm

Also it bears repeating that it is harder to cheat at caucuses than in electronic booths or loyalist-run polling places and that may be another reason Obama beat the pantsuits often Clinton in caucuses.

Exit polls are crucial. In Texas, however, many people early-voted for Obama and weren't neccesarily included in exit polls.

I am not a tin-foil-hat-wearer, but did read disparate multiple accounts of shennanigans by W'04 that together added up to a lot of cheating. I do sometimes fear the Clintons might have studied that playbook as a manual.

FOX News and Rush Limbah are pushing for Hillary, add in Buchanan, Scarboro, Coulter. They are telling their "followers " to vote Clinton in the primaries. They were way ready and were way sure (just as she was) that she would have the coronation on Feb5. With Billarys "hate numbers" at 50% and approvals down with Bush's, the Paul v Clinton trial on the horizon, and all that delicious Clinton Baggage ie Boznia Billary she would offer a win "most certain" for McCain. Todays polls show Obama over Mccain and McCain over Clinton

Let's just shut up 4 million more voters. Obama's already shut off Michigan and Florida why not everyone else.

Someone has to tell Leahy and Dodd that some people aren't senile enough to have forgotten Florida's 2000 fiasco. They did their share of whining about it.

Much to the chagrin of the Obama camp, people in this country like to vote and have it count. Silly concept, huh? Too bad the general election isn't a caucus. Well neither are Pennsylvania and Indiana and Kentucky and N.C. and the remainder of the primary states should have their moment on MSNBC so Russert and Matthews and Olbermann can tell them how stupid they are if they vote for Hillary.

Psst. News flash: you can't have it both ways. If you count the elections, she has lost and can't catch up. Even if every one of you voted, it would not make a difference. She has lost the fair fight.

The only way now for her to get in is to convince the Supers to forget ALL the voting and just pick her. So which is it? Do you care about the votes or not?

Earth to Democrab-
Earth calling Democrab-

Are you simply ignorant of the fact that Hillary gave a WRITTEN PROMISE to not participate in Micigan and Florida and that she didn't not want their votes to count because they broke the rules that were already in place? Or, is it that you know very well that you are not writing the truth and you, like Hillary, only now want those states to participate because you don't have the nomination wrapped up as planned?

Or, did you simply "mis-speak"?

You're a fool. Obama has nothing to do with the situation in MI and FL.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:53 PM on 03/29/2008

Hillary claimed victory in Fla. and Mi. She said it was sniper fire. She claimed the votes for herself, so don't know what you are talking about.

Facts are boring, but the fact is Obama didn't "shut off Michigan and Florida".

THAT was the DNC. As for disenfranching people, how about Hillary's view that when we vote for pledged delegates they don't have to honor the voters wishes?

Obama is highly favored to win in NC, btw. If you look, he's won quite a few primaries as well as caucuses. (The idea that he doesn't win primaries--or "important" states--is just more spin from the Clintons).

Jack and Jill went up the hill
to fetch a power grid
Jill tripped up
she ducked the snipery fire
and fell down the hill
to her ire
Jack picked her up
way way up and held her to the sky
don't cry, we never cry
we only lie
and they stumbled off to nowhere

Since Walmart donated this money to Billary's foundation, why don't they donate it back to the brain-dead woman whose son just died in Iraq? Walmart is suing her for a similar amount. That would be the right thing to do. Come on billary? Have any compassion? Or is it just for walmart?

Agreed, Walmart's excuse is that it has to follow the rules and be fair to all the other people in their health insurance program. What a lame excuse for taking that poor womans money away. Everyone else in their health care program is not sitting in a nursing home with brain damage either. They sure know how to be flexible when it comes to making deals with China to import all the crap you buy at their stores, but they can't be flexible for this poor woman?? Walmart sucks. What a bunch of pure a** holes.

They are completely unbelievable! Their ambition and arrogance is more important to them than not destroying the party and getting Mc100YearsWar elected. Take Hillary Jr., who's out trying to influence college students, Carville & spouse, and just go away from the national scene, HillBilly. We may have liked you at one time, but that time has long passed. Now we can't stand to see or hear you any more.

Many people have accused Hillary of lying about being shot at by snipers in Bosnia. In fact, they've accused her of lying about a lot of things--from Travelgate to her incredible "luck" as a first-time commodities trader. But was she really lying? I have another theory. Considering the odds against her getting the nomination have reached the brick wall level, because the math, no matter how you add it up, just doesn't work for her any longer, it's fairly crazy that she's still in the race. And yet, she's acting as if she actually still has a chance of somehow turning this huckabeean quest around. But she doesn't. No chance at all. The race is over. Obama won, and Hillary lost.

But here's the deal: maybe she really and truly believes that she can still win. And maybe she really and truly believes that she WAS shot at by snipers. Maybe ALL of her lies are real and true in her own head. Maybe she's not a liar after all. Maybe instead, she's just batshit crazy.
