Bill And Hillary

**UPDATED 03.29**

In an article on the obstacles Hillary Clinton faces in regards to winning the nomination, The New York Times notes that despite the increasing pressure on her to step aside, Clinton is still refusing to give an inch:

Compounding the challenge, one of Mr. Obama's most prominent supporters, Senator Patrick J. Leahy of Vermont, said Mrs. Clinton should quit the race because she hurt Mr. Obama "more than anything John McCain has said."

The Clinton campaign showed resolve in the face of the developments, rallying supporters and donors and enlisting prominent surrogates to fight back. Mrs. Clinton told aides that she would not be "bullied out" of the race.

In a conversation with two Democratic allies, she compared the situation to the "big boys" trying to bully a woman, according to interviews with them.

On the campaign trail, Mrs. Clinton said she was in the contest to stay.

On Friday both Clintons struck defiant notes on the trail in response to recent suggestions from leading Democrats that Hillary should end her campaign.

From MSNBC:

Just in case you were wondering what Hillary Clinton's No. 1 fan thinks of recent calls for her to drop out of the race for the Democratic nomination, Bill Clinton has three words for you: "Bunch of Bull."

"All these people tell you, 'Aw, we oughta shut this thing down now; the Democrats are so divided,'" Clinton said at a campaign event here. "That's a bunch of bull."

From the New York Times Caucus blog:

To answer questions that have been swirling around her candidacy all day, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived here in northwest Indiana - just a few miles from her Democratic rival's home on Chicago's South Side - to unequivocally say she has no intention of leaving the presidential race.

"There are millions of reasons to continue this race: people in Pennsylvania and Indiana and North Carolina and all of the contests yet to come," Mrs. Clinton said. "This is a very close race and clearly I believe strongly that everyone should have their voices heard and their votes counted and that includes Michigan and Florida."

Then, she added: "There is a lot still to be done and I'm looking forward to campaigning hard over the next several months."

I can’t listen to her speeches and comments any more.
Just her way of talking turns me off….grinds on me.

It’s one thing to stay positive in the face of adversity but entirely different one to be giddy and disconnected from reality, seemingly unaware of the damage she’s doing to the Democratic Party and the country.

She’s does not seam to be ashamed that Limbaugh’s Republican disciples are voting for her in the hope for a weaker candidate against John McCain.

She is apparently incapable of feeling shame. The "ambition" center of her brain has taken over all other emotional processing centers. Oh, I think "anger" and "vindictiveness" are still intact.

She's joining forces with them. Seriously, WATCH HER FOX INTERVIEW FROM THIS WEEK. It's astonishing. She was on Greta Van Susterin. She gives a preview of what further horrors she has in store for the party that dares oppose her.

It's funny I'm getting tired too, but not of Hillary .. Next time you hear one of those life-changing speeches from Obama, listen to the affected Southern Baptist dialect. ( He was born in Hawaii for Gods sakes, and his Mother is white from Kansas). Its starts to grate about halfway through his tired poetry ..."From the snow-capped hills of Vermont to the sun-soaked plains of .... blah blah blah "

It's better than Hillary playing the victim card every 5 seconds. Ooooh the 'big boys' are out to get her. Ooooh Reverend Wright offended her race and her patriotism. Why doesn't she cry about it? Ooooh she already did. Give ME a break.

What do you want out of Obama? A song and dance? What form of entertainment is a politician supposed to offer you to win a vote? Must be scandal, pettiness, and weekly displays of intellectual dishonesty for you to be a Hillary supporter.

If your guy is such a sure fire winner, why does he insist that Hillary throw the election? The Demands by Obama supporters that Hillary drop out are so deeply offensive and dismissive of women one wonders where they have been for the last 35 years. Bring back the ERA! Equal Rights Amendment to end gender discrimination for those of you too young to know recent US history.

I've had it with a lot of things, but this "dismissive of women" crap is more than I can take. I'm male, but I have actively supported women's rights for a very long time, and I want very much to see a woman get elected president. There are sexist people in this country, and sexism is still just as big a problem as racism. I don't think anyone can really deny that women have been enslaved by a "women belong in the home" mentality, and that sexism is just as much a "birth defect" of America as racism. I am with you 100% in your struggle to end gender discrimination, and I'm with you 100% in recognizing the seriousness of the problem.

However, very much unlike the racial tones that permeate criticism of Obama, I don't see even veiled criticism of Senator Clinton that is gender-specific. The problems people have with Hillary are gender-neutral, and are in no way viewed as representative of her sex. For so many to continue to suggest otherwise is both to ignore the realities, and worse, to perhaps dilute in the minds of some the many very real instances of sex discrimination that we all should oppose.

If you give me specific examples of gender-dismissive tactics, I promise you I will work as diligently as you to help eliminate them, but don't cry Wolf about these things. If we're going to fight all discrimination, I need your help.

Bill Clinton is the only Dem alive to beat the Repubs on a national level and he did it many times. Now, Obama fans act like Clinton is a bad guy and he doesn't know what he is talking about.

You Obama fans don't have to worry about your boy ever being on Clinton's level. Obama is going to be on McGovern and Mondale's level. All of these gung-ho comments about Obama are going to look friggin hilarious this time next year.

You're right. Without Perot, Clinton wouldn't have won.

As for Gore, let's not forget that if Nader hadn't been on the ballot, Gore would have easily picked up the extra votes needed in FL without a recount.

Gore WON. He won the popular vote and if FL election rules had been followed (and all discarded ballots were examined, not only the "hanging chads", but the strange results from Jacksonville, too) he would have won without the SC stopping the count.

So...yes, Bush stole the election. And, yes, Nader made Gore lose (and didn't care one bit).

Checking facts before responding is the best thing to do.) LET THE PEOPLE VOTE OBAMA INTO THE WHITE HOUSE.

Chuck Todd yesterday on Hardball seemed unable to understand why the cries for Hillary to step down are so loud. All you need do is look at the comments here,to know what's going on.

Truth is, most of us have just had it. For me, it was when Hillary threw Rev. Wright under the bus, when she might have helped America gain a greater understanding. We've seen American politicians betray fundamental principles for personal gain before, but I don't plan on getting used to it. Hillary is now a candidate to which I am totally and unconditionally opposed.

As if that weren't enough, Mr. Todd absolutely should be reporting that the primaries have now become irretrievably corrupt. The Limbaugh Republicans are out in force and skewing the results. If you're not voting for the candidate you want to win in November, it's unethical for you to cast your vote, wouldn't you say? How can you even trust the results of primaries now, including Ohio and Texas? This would be a joke, if it was funny.

If we're going to salvage any integrity from these primaries, they should be brought to an immediate conclusion. If Senator Clinton wants to apologize sincerely for all the underhanded tactics and completely convince me she's changed her ways, if she releases all withheld documents promptly and without redactions, and if Limbaugh Republican votes can be effectively isolated and discounted, I might be tempted to reconsider. But only if.

As it stands now it is purely a political fight between 2 political organizations: the Clinton organization of the 1990s vs the Kennedy organization that has been in the Dem party since the 50s, which only significant triumph was JFK in 1960. Hillary is straight from the LBJ, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton line of the Democratic Party which has been the basis of 90 percent of the Democratic successes of the past 50 years.

Kennedy offers very little except tired old academic ideas whose lack of relevance has been proved by those of us participating in the real world outside of academia. While academia to a large degree has worth goals and ideals, their lack of real world experience leaves them ill-prepared to deal with the practicalities of solving problems in the real world. This is what the Obama campaign is all about, and why, if America is smart, it will reject the Kennedy-Obama lunge for power.

The US needs Hillary Clinton to put us back on the track we left in 2000 with the unfortunate election of George Bush, with much thanks due to the Kennedy wing of the party who has since tried to distance their members from the Clinton philosophies.

What is this race really about? It is about CLINTONISM vs KENNEDYISM. Obama is simply Kennedy's current strategically selected front man.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:00 PM on 03/29/2008

Since Clinton, the US has gotten significantly worse. Maybe it can be traced back to his 8 years of power. Maybe we need Kennedyism to bring America back from its media-consolidated, corporate-dominated status. Go Obama.

Make no mistake, to stop the insanity in Iraq and economic downturn, it is up to us to vote and elect a Dem President.

I will never vote gop and if Obama is the nominee, I will vote for him.

I hope Obama supporters will do the same if Clinton is the nominee.

It is up to Hillary supporters to pressure their Congressional SuperDelegates to vote for Hillary if their district voted for Hillary. Let's show Nancy Pelosi what the will of the people really means.

The MSM would have you believe this is a race between personalities: Hilary vs Obama. IT IS NOT. It is a race between the CLINTON ORGANIZATION and the KENNEDY ORGANIZATION.

If not for TED KENNEDY and his ties with the CHICAGO POLITICAL MACHINE, the common campaign organization led by DAVID AXELROD that has worked for PATRICK KENNEDY SINCE 1994, was responsible with the Kennedy organization for installing the farcical DEVAL PATRICK to the GOVERNORSHIP OF MASSACHUSETTS, and is now BEHIND THE OBAMA CANDIDACY, Obama would still be a lonely representative in the Illinois Legislature.

Without KENNEDY and the RACE-BAITING POLITICS he initiated along w JAMES CLYBURN between the NH and SC primaries Obama would long ago have been history in this campaign.

I just got back from the grand opening of the Obama campaign office here in Indiana (one of them). It was crazy! They have a three story building and so many people showed up they had to move everything out into the street. His campaigns organizational skills are mindblowing. The staff had people screaming in the street. People were so fired up they were signing up for neighborhoods in groups and running to their cars to get started.

The crowd was about 50% white men between 20 and 40 years old and the rest a good mix of young and old and black and white. This is a pretty republican part of the state but it just elected a democratic mayor and the loudest cheers came when the mayor started yelling "lets turn Indiana blue!".

Iv'e never seen so many people so excited about a politician. It was fun to be around so many people as excited as I am! Most of you have probably been to political rallies before. This was my first and what fun!! Hillary was here last night. She was over an hour late which didn't sit well with all the seniors. One of the first questions to her was from a woman that asked..."I'm worried about my 17 year old sons future. What kind of job can he expect when he is older?" Hillary responded..."It depends on whether or not I'm president."
