Bill And Hillary

**UPDATED 03.29**

In an article on the obstacles Hillary Clinton faces in regards to winning the nomination, The New York Times notes that despite the increasing pressure on her to step aside, Clinton is still refusing to give an inch:

Compounding the challenge, one of Mr. Obama's most prominent supporters, Senator Patrick J. Leahy of Vermont, said Mrs. Clinton should quit the race because she hurt Mr. Obama "more than anything John McCain has said."

The Clinton campaign showed resolve in the face of the developments, rallying supporters and donors and enlisting prominent surrogates to fight back. Mrs. Clinton told aides that she would not be "bullied out" of the race.

In a conversation with two Democratic allies, she compared the situation to the "big boys" trying to bully a woman, according to interviews with them.

On the campaign trail, Mrs. Clinton said she was in the contest to stay.

On Friday both Clintons struck defiant notes on the trail in response to recent suggestions from leading Democrats that Hillary should end her campaign.

From MSNBC:

Just in case you were wondering what Hillary Clinton's No. 1 fan thinks of recent calls for her to drop out of the race for the Democratic nomination, Bill Clinton has three words for you: "Bunch of Bull."

"All these people tell you, 'Aw, we oughta shut this thing down now; the Democrats are so divided,'" Clinton said at a campaign event here. "That's a bunch of bull."

From the New York Times Caucus blog:

To answer questions that have been swirling around her candidacy all day, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived here in northwest Indiana - just a few miles from her Democratic rival's home on Chicago's South Side - to unequivocally say she has no intention of leaving the presidential race.

"There are millions of reasons to continue this race: people in Pennsylvania and Indiana and North Carolina and all of the contests yet to come," Mrs. Clinton said. "This is a very close race and clearly I believe strongly that everyone should have their voices heard and their votes counted and that includes Michigan and Florida."

Then, she added: "There is a lot still to be done and I'm looking forward to campaigning hard over the next several months."

The more the Clinton's keep up their antics the more I am starting to believe that they are just operatives on the same team as the Neocons like Bush/Cheney and McCain/Lieberman. They are handing John McCain the white house. The Clintons are way too smart for this to be just by accident.

I think Ramses II said it best, "it has been said now let it be done" or was it "lead follow or get the blink out of the way" in either case no more dynasties for this country the last 16 years have sucked..............

Go Obama..............................

actually, 20 years, counting Bush the 1st. Hey, did anyone know that both Bush and Clinton are related to British royalty? Kind of interesting little tidbit.

Isn't that special. They're wearing yellow together and in another picture they both point their fingers. Togetherness, I guess.

It is clearer and clearer that it would be a dual presidency. The Clintons will not be president of this country again.

It was cute when Huckabee stayed in the race after he had lost. He was doing no harm and you couldn't fault him for wanting to get his face/name out there.

Hillary is acting like a sloppy drunk at closing time in the bar trying desperately to find someone to go home with. Just call it a night, go home, take some aspirin, drink a big glass of water and sleep it off.

You lost. Now handle it gracefully.

Good example. Funny -- for the last few weeks I've been saying she was like the creepy semi-sober guy who waits around at the bar until closing time to see if anyone is drunk enough to go home with him. But she really has jumped the shark completely now, hasn't she? Good one.

She should stay in. She should stay in so her supporters get to see the last primary vote cast, and so they'll be satisfied the contest was fair and the Obama won fairly ands quarely. We don't want anyone walking away from this contest feeling hurt and disenfranchised, and we don't want them walking away not willing to vote for the Democratic nominee in November.

At the same time, Bill and Hill need to tone down their attacks on Obama and their thinly-veiled endorsements of McCain. She has every right to stay in, but she doesn't have every right to bloody Obama to the detriment of everything she says she stands for. That's naked personal ambition and bitterness all the way through. It's suicide politics, and it should not be tolerated by the party statesmen.

Clintons "not going anywhere": okay--you stay right where you are--we'll move on without you.

The only way the Clintons will win this nomination is if they steal it and I am sure that is not beneath them. After all, she did attempt to steal the silver among other things when leaving the White House, and she stole most of the womens' vote by pretending that she really cares about women, after destroying a young lady who had been raped, then allowing and protecting her womanizing husband to destroy women from AR to the White House! I am amazed at how women forget so easily or justify Hillary's deceitfulness. Not this woman, she has never and will never represent me in any way.

Hillary is a bone face liar and she will lie about anything.

The only experience she has is the years of putting up with an asshole for a husband and fighting anyone that gets in her way. I can see it now, she needs to get a bill passed and everyone gets up and walks out of the house and the senate because of her fighting spirit.

Yeah, put Hillary in the WH and see what she gets done. Absolutely nothing other than renting the rooms out for monetary favors or have you ladies forgotten. Oh well, many women would over look anything to have the feeling of having a woman, any woman, in the highest office. What a price to pay!

Has Obama prevailed in the primary of even one major state? As per James Carville, "how many Idaho's is one California" I would be satisfied if either Hillary or Obama won the election, though I prefer Hillary because I believe she has more experience overall and she puts forth more in specific ideas.

The Dems have to win the following states in November: NY, FL, OH, MI, CA, PA, MA. TX. If the republicans win even one of these states, say hello to Bush's third term. I can't believe how little the issue of winning these critical states is discussed. If Obama won 1/3 of these states he might have an argument BUT HE HAS LOST THEM ALL. The Obama people have succeeded in avoiding a re-vote in MI and FL because thei fear he will lose these states. Wake up superdelegates.

It makes me even more determined.

Please stop confusing the Democratic primary results with the projected results in the general election. The fact that Senator Clinton got more votes than Senator Obama in the primary does not mean that Senator McCain will get more votes than Senator Obama in November. Senator Clinton has to stop her negative attacks on the presumptive Democratic nominee, as she is just giving the Republicans ammunition to use in their campaign.

Your reasoning about MI anf FL is entirely inaccurate. The DNC could allow it. And the state parties have to make it happen. It has ZERO to do with Obama. Or with Hillary for that matter. You are either making up or propagating falsehoods.

I've seen you make this same comment half a dozen places now.

How do you think we're going to get two dollar gas? Make OPEC only charge us $50 a barrel, subsidize it on the backs of the poor? Not gonna happen.

Here's the deal: we don't run anything. We don't set prices. We are the customer (in republican terms, we are the 'mark'*)--we pay what it costs or we go home empty handed.

Somebody else been doing your shopping your whole life or...?

*I understand, btw, that Adams said, "Everything is worth what it's puchaser will pay," but that assumes a free market--and not a corporate welfare state.

We already subsidize the oil companies by giving them huge tax breaks. If we didn't, our gas would be far higher as it is in other countries. This way, it looks as if we are paying lower prices for gas when, in fact, the tax breaks make our prices actually higher than other countries. This pleases the politicians and the oil companies.

Hey, Clinton supporters, relax . . . this site and MSNBC are in the Obama camp . . .

That's cool for me. Hey, just watch CNN or FOX to get the low down.

Chris Matthews and Obama are going to do a pep rally in Greensburg, PA.

I hope some of the audience is old enough to have had the opportunity to see who Matthews really is . . . (I was emailing the show in fits over the "Mission Accomplished" orgy Chris' Hardball televised live for 2 hours on that fateful day.)

Don't let MSNBC fool you

I am ashamed for having ever supported her.

At this point, better she not drop out. Huge turnouts in Indiana and NC will result in twenty point defeats in each location, plus embarrassing defeats in Montana and South Dakota. Obama will ride this wave to a no doubt about it nomination, huge Dem voter registration and participation in these places, and a Hillary who is no reviled throughout the Dem party.

When this is all done, she may be banished from anything of importance in the Senate. That would be good for all Americans as her destructive nature will be kept away from an Obama presidency.
