Wall Street Journal :

I think we've reached a signal point in the campaign. This is the point where, with Hillary Clinton, either you get it or you don't. There's no dodging now. You either understand the problem with her candidacy, or you don't. You either understand who she is, or not. And if you don't, after 16 years of watching Clintonian dramas, you probably never will.

That's what the Bosnia story was about. Her fictions about dodging bullets on the tarmac -- and we have to hope they were lies, because if they weren't, if she thought what she was saying was true, we are in worse trouble than we thought -- either confirmed what you already knew (she lies as a matter of strategy, or, as William Safire said in 1996, by nature) or revealed in an unforgettable way (videotape! Smiling girl in pigtails offering flowers!) what you feared (that she lies more than is humanly usual, even politically usual).

funny how Noonan's and Rev. Wrong's statements seem to stoop to the lowest levels of opinion. criticize yes, but to demean someone is another thing. pretty easy to do when you have no solutions, or really don't care. standing on side lines, shouting from the peanut gallery, but what actions have they taken to improve whats wrong? blame the other person, instead of looking in the mirror. saying to one's self " what can i do to help?" that just might be too hard. and the pay is not good anyway. just two people making a living as talking heads. good gig if you can get it !!!!

I have to agree with Peggy Noonan on this one. It really is clear - Either Hillary is a pathological liar, or she's hallucinatory or both. Neither is good and the combination can be dangerous. We've had a president who is both a pathological liar and completely detached from reality (or pretends to be). Look where it's gotten us. Not pretty.

"both are pathological liars"

So, Memorye, essentially you agree that HRC is a pathological liar, and yet you are still defending her (?)

Does this mean you believe honesty is not such an important quality for a president to have??

Please explain.

Hillary Clinton supporters will never "get it". They are the problem in the Democratic Party. Remember Al Gore LOST in 2000, John Kerry LOST in 2004, if most of these militant "feminists" and so called "white working class" would have taken the time from their busy schedules to VOTE, than the DEMs would have easily won those elections as the margins were all thin. But these folks are not worthy of democracy and they don't "get "change. No worries...Obama will win without them.

why did they lose. Because they did not fight. And Obama will lose because he is not a fighter .

I guess "sleazy tactics" is the new definition of "fighting".

Actually Obama is the best fighter of them all! You can see it in the result. Try as they might, they haven't lain a glove on him. The difference with him is that he fights smart and clean! Something that Hillary will never figure out.

It's amazing to me that people are still making this hackneyed argument that Obama isn't a fighter. He's doing pretty darn well by any measure--states won, popular vote, and the recent flood of superdelegates into his camp. Even after a week of continual news coverage about his pastor, he's bounced back in the polls.

The problem with Democrats is they continually operate out of fear, something Republicans never do. You see it in comments like the one above. Dems are so meek and freaked out by what happened to Kerry that they assume the only solution is to nominate a master mudslinger. Guess what? Your mudslinger can't even keep up in the primaries.

Bill Clinton was a great president. With that said, Obama beat them in the primary. You're implying Hillary is the fighter....but she couldn't win this "fight." Obama never even threw any real "punches." She's "down for the count" throwing everything she had at Obama (and the rest of the Democrats) while they barely gave her a "love tap."

and the terrible metaphors go on and on and on.

Bottom line: when the supposed "Fighter" gets beaten...what does that say about the "Fighter"....? .

Well, for not being a fighter, he's whopping Clinton's ass. What was it like 12 in a row, winning by an average of 25%. If Obama isn't a "fighter," what, pray tell, does that make Hillary? I believe what you are implying is that Obama is not a end-justifies-the-means, do-anything-to-win, dirty, below-the-belt kind of fighter like the Clintons. It seems to me that people have had enough of those kind of politics, and this may explain why Obama is ahead at this point. Not being willing to get in the gutter with the Clintons is actually a huge ASSET in my book.

Only point she has is it's one sided. you have to look at both sides and they both look the same.

Thank you Ms. Noonan.
you have written exactly what's been gnawing in my gut.
there's not a lot of difference in their policies,
but if i have to choose between Lady Hill the Hawk
and the Peacemaker Obama,
(i've already had 8-years of a hateful WH)
i prefer the chance to make this country (& the world)
a kinder, gentler place.
all the Team Hillary Hawks don't get it
but you & i do.

It's an op-ed, who cares where it appears? Peggy Noonan hits whomever she thinks is wrong or out of it, just ask George W. Bush--he got it pretty good a few months back. She's got a cool writing style and typically tries to keep her personal feelings out of her commentaries.

PS to your PS: Who cares?

It took 40 years for peace to come to Northern Ireland, finally in 2005. George Mitchell can take some credit for his contributions. So can Maureen (Mo) Mowlam, the Northern Irish Secretary who literally gave her health away as she mounted the effort. In Ireland, presidents Mary Robinson and Mary MacAleese participated during the 90's and early 2000's. Both Protestant and Catholic women, mothers of children trying to find safe pathways to and from school every day banded together and created their own detante. The wrenching struggle that took so many innocent lives and looped through countless dead-ends is barely understood across the U.S. Our American ignorance allows Hillary to claim that she played an instrumental role, especially in helping Northern Irish women getting their voices heard. If one knows the history this lie gives even greater offense than the Bosnian sniper fire fiction. She can not possibly serve effectively if these are the "experiences" that prepare her for the red phone call at 3am.
Someone should do more press coverage about this Northern Irish fairy tale.

Ms. Noonan's column reminds me of a young boy from our old neighborhood. After a local contest to see who could throw a football the farthest, he cried and protested that he had won. He threw the ball about four yards. The winner threw it halfway down the football field. He could not fathom the difference, and acknowledge that he lost. He was around ten years of age. How old is Hillary?

The old time trial lawyers--the ones who'd survived many trials in the trenches--liked to pick women as jurors in cases where the plaintiff was female, particularly where there was substantial exaggeration of injury.

They figured women were the harshest judges of women.

Peggy sort of proves that point here, but I must say she's right on the money.

The only thing of recent vintage she left out was the claim Hillary made that she tried to join the Marines in 1970 but the guy in the recruiting office said they didn't take women (the sure did in WW II).

Also, Peggy, how about the stuff Hillary likes to leave out: Walmart Board for 6 years, corporate lawyer at Rose Law Firm with Web Hubbell?

I don't understand why anyone at this point would be for Clinton. After all the "misstatements", don't we want a president who respects us enough to tell the truth?
