Peggy Noonan: At This Point You Either Understand The Problem With Hillary Or You Don't

I think we've reached a signal point in the campaign. This is the point where, with Hillary Clinton, either you get it or you don't. There's no dodging now. You either understand the problem with her candidacy, or you don't. You either understand who she is, or not. And if you don't, after 16 years of watching Clintonian dramas, you probably never will.

That's what the Bosnia story was about. Her fictions about dodging bullets on the tarmac -- and we have to hope they were lies, because if they weren't, if she thought what she was saying was true, we are in worse trouble than we thought -- either confirmed what you already knew (she lies as a matter of strategy, or, as William Safire said in 1996, by nature) or revealed in an unforgettable way (videotape! Smiling girl in pigtails offering flowers!) what you feared (that she lies more than is humanly usual, even politically usual).

Peggy Noonan is a speech writer. She doesn't know anything.

Interesting, while you may not like Noonan....you did not dispute her article about how Hillary has been caught in so many lies.

You are going to applaud one of the great prevaricators of our time and the Wall Street fricking Journal for the sake of bashing Hillary.

I seldom agree with Ms Noonan's moralizing, but in this regard she is absolutely correct. Hillary has always played loose with the true, whether it is because of her legal training, her own character or whatever. Now, she is in the final quarter of the game and she is losing big time. She has given so many years to reach this point. She allowed herself to be embarassed by Bill, she used the system herself and has been totally without regard for others (Travelgate, Bill's ladies, etc.) Now, she is at the last and if you saw the clip of her lie, she looked so sincere like she was reliving the moment of the sniper fire. If nothing else, she is a great liar. Only time will tell what ammo she still has to use on Obama. It should be interesting.

I thought this was a very well written article although I RARELY agree with Peggy Noonan. The Clintons are veteran politicans- they know their odds are grim but they keep on going even if they tank the Democratic Party in the process. But what about their supporters, their volunteers and their staff. How long are you going to string them along? It's depressing.

Peggy Noonan is completely on point. Clinton is done and has simply not accepted that as fact.
History will attribute her now inevitable loss to her husband, Bill Clinton and mismanagement of her presidential campaign. They have soured the stomachs of the democratic establishment and brought back to memory the dark days of the Clinton presidency with their exaggerate truths. Signs some say are prophetical. People are aware of the fact that the Clintons actually lie. A lot of people easily knew this from the beginning, yet some are still yet to awaken to the facts because they believe the lies themselves.

You guys, we’re talking sniper fire and running for cover. She told the story so well saying how vivid her memories we’re, then, never apologizing, she said she simply misspoke.

To her supporters, tell me again why you support her. I do not recall ever hearing a reason from anyone except that she has experience. Now that you know that’s a lie, give me the real reason you support her.

Excellent article, Peggy ! This has been obvious for me since her claim of" 35 years of experience" and "ready on day one", total lies!
The Bosnia episode was serendipitous to show the world how many times she lied and wouldn't admit it until the tapes were payed all over the news media. It was awful how she mishandled her mistake saying she "misspoke" or she was sleep deprived, when it didn't happen just once but 3 times and she was reading from notes. So she lied again to hide the previous lies.
Clinton supporters, have some decency. She is not worth your vote and support.

What struck me as the best commentary on the Bosnia story came from a poster called GI Joe who wrote in to a news blog: "Actually Mrs. Clinton was too modest. I was there and saw it all. When Mrs. Clinton got off the plane the tarmac came under mortar and machine gun fire. I was blown off my tank and exposed to enemy fire. Mrs. Clinton without regard to her own safety dragged me to safety, jumped on the tank and opened fire, killing 50 of the enemy." Soon a suicide bomber appeared, but Mrs. Clinton stopped the guards from opening fire. "She talked to the man in his own language and got him [to] surrender. She found that he had suffered terribly as a result of policies of George Bush. She defused the bomb vest herself." Then she turned to his wounds. "She stopped my bleeding and saved my life. Chelsea donated the blood."

I have to agree with Peggy Noonan on this one. It really is clear - Either she's a pathological liar, or she's hallucinatory. Neither is good. We've had a president who is both pathological and detached from reality and just look at the damage. Not pretty.
