Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton told the Washington Post in an interview published Saturday that she would stay in the Democratic Presidential Race until the convention:

In her most definitive comments to date on the subject, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton sought Saturday to put to rest any notion that she will drop out of the presidential race, pledging in an interview to not only compete in all the remaining primaries but also continue until there is a resolution of the disqualified results in Florida and Michigan.

A day after Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean urged the candidates to end the race by July 1, Clinton defied that call by declaring that she will take her campaign all the way to the Aug. 25-28 convention if necessary, potentially setting up the prolonged and divisive contest that party leaders are increasingly anxious to avoid.

"I know there are some people who want to shut this down and I think they are wrong," Clinton said in an interview during a campaign stop here Saturday. "I have no intention of stopping until we finish what we started and until we see what happens in the next 10 contests and until we resolve Florida and Michigan. And if we don't resolve it, we'll resolve it at the convention -- that's what credentials committees are for.

"We cannot go forward until Florida and Michigan are taken care of, otherwise the eventual nominee will not have the legitimacy that I think will haunt us," said the senator from New York. "I can imagine the ads the Republican Party and John McCain will run if we don't figure out how we can count the votes in Michigan and Florida."

Asked if there was a scenario in which she would drop out before the last primaries on June 3, Clinton said no. "I am committed to competing everywhere that there is an election," she said.

As an Obama supporter, I'm actually glad that Hillary is staying in the race. If she got out last month, when it first became clear that she lost the race, her most zealous supporters would have had a tough time supporting Obama in the general election because of hurt feelings. But the longer she stays in the race without any chance whatsoever of winning the nomination, the more credibility she loses until eventually, even her most hard-core supporters desert her. Five more months of her ugliness will bring her negatives so high that she might even have a hard time holding her Senate seat.

Ron Paul is an example that Dem leadership need to follow. If your against the iraq war, stop casting your vote to fund it. Thats the job of congresspeople.

This back and forth is all very well but if you have a choice of a dem or Mc Cain,
can you with your best intentions to your party, vote for a Republican candidate?

Do you really want this or are you lucky enough not to know one family who is struggling to survive?

It's not going to happen Memorye and you need to step back and look at what is happening. McCain's defining the race by being Presidential and the Democrat's look like a bunch of cat's fighting. Even if you believe that Hillary would be the better candidate it's time that the rank and file appreciate that this nomination process needs to end and that it's time to rally around Obama. We will need all of the time and money that is av;ailable to deal with the RNC and their ruthless campaign tactics. What Clintonista's need to really ask themselves is how do you really explain how Hillary can win the nomination. If she can do it without rejecting the will of the entire party, then it's fine that she continues, but if you can't see how she will do it without rejecting the will of the majority of delegates and voters, then it's time to withdraw your support.

With the Democratic convention so late in August, the Democratic nominee will have barely two months to campaign against John McCain.

The superdelegates need to stop this selfish woman.

The MSM needs to look into her religious affiliations, i.e., http://www.thenation.com/doc/20080331/ehrenreich

Hillary is a selfish person, and has what appears to be very little loyalty to the Democratic party.

"Operation Chaos" is in full swing; cross-over Republicans have even been elected Hillary delegates & will be casting caucas votes.

Rush will keep this thing alive until the Dem convention; should be a real riot.

Hey - Today's Sunday. Wonder if Obama will "hear" Wright's sermon, or will his deafness continue?

Hillary would never do anything to hurt her party. The DLC. Just kidding. I don't like Hillary, but I remember after the one debate where she had her "moment" of "We're all going to be fine. I am absolutely honored", one commenter said that it meant she "wasn't going to do anything CRAZY at the convention." The way he said it made me laugh. Crazy, like try to make her case for the nomination?
That being said, I don't think a brokered convention would be good for the party at all. I can imagine how much Tim Russert and all those other goons are positively drooling at that prospect.

More Clinton/Rowe style politics in Texas.

"The District 23 convention, one of the largest in the state, was stalled for hours because the credentials of thousands of delegates were either challenged or could not immediately be verified.
Clinton supporters prompted most of the disputes."

Clintonites best give up the talking point "we won Texas" or camp Clinton will have anther duck for cover sniper moment.

when is a win not a win? when the democrats decide to gerrymander the election so that a junior senator can get more delagates without winning the state..geez..talk about lining up for defeat come November.
Democrats NEED Hillary to pull it off in the general

I believe that Clinton left the democratic party weak after his little affair. So weak it didn't fight back when the republicans stole the 2000 election. Now Hillary is finishing what Bill started, the complete destruction of the democratic party. Then the republicans can get back to what they seem good at, destroying the American economy.

NBC, MS-NBC, etc. are with the Obama supporters in asking Hillary Clinton to get out of the democratic primary because "she cannot win" without the super delegates. Neither can Obama reach the number of delegates needed to win without super-delegates. Tim Russert, one of Obama's media c0-chairmen (along with Chris Matthews), says Obama won the nomination "fair and square," and if Clinton does not get out of the race, she will hurt the democratic party.

In Michigan, the thing that has hurt the democratic party is Obama's resistence to a June 3 revote. So much for "fair and square." Many Michigan voters cannot get past the fact that Obama would prefer to disenfrancise us, than risk losing another state. That tells us a lot about his character and the type of politician he is, and president he would be.

The fact is Clinton won Michigan fair and square. (Obama "chose" to take his name off the ballot.) Even if all the votes that "uncommitted" and other candidates won were added together, she still won.

Without counting Michigan's vote, McCain benefits most. Sad.
