Cash Strapped Clinton Fails To Pay Bills

Hillary Rodham Clinton's cash-strapped presidential campaign has been putting off paying hundreds of bills for months -- freeing up cash for critical media buys, but also earning the campaign a reputation as something of a deadbeat in some small business circles.

A pair of Ohio companies owed more than $25,000 by Clinton for staging events for her campaign are warning others in the tight-knit event production community -- and anyone else who will listen -- to get their cash upfront when doing business with her. Her campaign, say representatives of the two companies, has stopped returning phone calls and e-mails seeking payment of outstanding invoices. One even got no response from a certified letter.

I have just read where Hillary did not pay almost $300K worth of her staffs health care premiums for at least two months. This is irony at best and hypocrisy at worse.

For Hillary's first financial crisis, supporters could still convince themselves she had a shot, but no longer. Sometimes, it really does work itself out. Average americans have to pay their bills on time or there are consequences, how is she to represent average americans and the challenges they face if she doesn't have to be held to even the lowest and most common standards of ordinary people such as paying your bills and not lying?

Being in the production and staging business myself I can't help but wonder about the fatre of the people who the Clintons aren't paying. In an event like a fundraiser or a campaign rally many services such as venue, lighting, video, audio and even craft services (to say nothing of design and print services) are sub contracted out to other vendors. Most smaller companies in this business pretty much live hand to mouth. If the Clinton campaign is stiffing these people on sums from $25 to $50 grand that could certainly put the event production company into serious financial distress or even bankruptcy and have a very negative effect on all of the sub-contracted vendors involved.
I've made a point of sending the link in this story to all the other folks in this business I know.
