Clinton Is Staying In

Washington Post:

In her most definitive comments to date on the subject, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton sought Saturday to put to rest any notion that she will drop out of the presidential race, pledging in an interview to not only compete in all the remaining primaries but also continue until there is a resolution of the disqualified results in Florida and Michigan.

A day after Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean urged the candidates to end the race by July 1, Clinton defied that call by declaring that she will take her campaign all the way to the Aug. 25-28 convention if necessary, potentially setting up the prolonged and divisive contest that party leaders are increasingly anxious to avoid...

...Her remarks come as Clinton faces a mounting drumbeat, driven by the campaign of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and his backers, for her to bow out and avert a party crisis. Obama's supporters argue that he is too far ahead in pledged delegates for Clinton to catch up; Clinton counters by saying that neither of them has secured the 2,024 delegates needed for the nomination.

I thought the Coors were Republicans. Didn't Cheney's daughter, Mary, work for them at one time?

By the way, they are war profiteers but not in such a way that I object. They make ceramic inserts for body armor.

Florida and Michigan get punished for not following Dem rules. and YET rules also say Super Delegates can vote. BHO people say no, we don't like these rules. Rules say you need a specific number of delegates to win. BHO people say no, whoever has the most should win and super delegates shouldn't matter. BHO people say to hell with the rules, except the rules that help us. BHO, WHAT A UNITER.

Links? What do you need clarification of? Florida and Michigan are being punished? Correct or not? The rules clearly state a needed amount of delegates for nomination? Correct or not? BHO people want Hillary to drop out because BHO has lead but not the needed amount of delegates for nomintion. Correct? Super Delegates are in the rules for Dems, right? But now BHO people only want them to vote for who is in the lead. Correct or not? This is not spin. These are the facts. Dems laid out these ridiculous rules. Only Dem rules would allow being able to lose popular vote in Texas but lose delegates. Blame the Dems. They are more interested in appealing to every special interest group that they lose sight of the big picture.

we say they "should" go with the will of the people . . . not that they MUST!

besides, if their case is to go with the most qualified, electable and best for the country then barack obama is the clear choice. -- hillary is insane. -- the right-wing "conspiracy" seems to be conspiring to get her into the WH.

she is a neo-con mole. just like leiberman -- period.

those supporting her are too foolish or to devious to be taken seriously . . . or evil republicans themselves.

a neo-con, leiberman-esque mole on marching orders to put mccain in the SH by taking down barack obama at any cost with the 2012 nomination as her prize.

What part of Obama is ahead in:

1. Total delegates won.
2. Total states won.
3. Total popular vote won (700,000 more than Hillary)

don't you understand???

BTW, BHO never said SD do not count. If you mean he or his staffers or other Democrats said the SD shouldn't overturn the will of the people (the pledge delegates) then I agree with your assertion. That much is true.

But it was Hillary who complained that FL and MI are being disenfranchised while suggesting other pledge delegates need not vote in line with the results in the various state elections, which effectively disenfranchises ALL the states.

Hillary: a divisive divider.

I understand that the rules DO NOT say that the candidate with the MOST delegates wins. You need a specific number of delegates and NEITHER one has that amount. and YET BHO people want Hillary to drop out. how arrogant.

Fellow Obama supporters please, please, please let her campaign as long as she wishes.

If we argue she can't win her waining supporters see her as being picked on.. The points have been made. The math is there. If people can't see it for themselves, they never will.

The race card has fizzled out, The campaigning for McCain at Obama's expense is obvious. Think about how much credibility she and Bill have lost in the last half of the campaign. If they want to blunder on, let them.

Drop out? No, I don’t care if Sen. Clinton stays in this campaign until the last primary in Puerto Rico but I do think she needs to stop praising Sen. McCain. Both Clintons seem to have decided the Republican candidate would be a better president then her Democratic opponent.

Obama, Clinton and their supporters need to keep their eyes on the prize.

why do you think FOXNEWS is pushing her so hard? or scarborough, buchannon and carlson?

"You cannot as a Democrat win the White House without a very big women's vote. What I believe is that women will turn out for me."

Imagine if Obama said the same thing by replacing the word "women" with "blacks"

"You cannot as a Democrat win the White House without a very big BLACK vote. What I believe is that BLACKS will turn out for me." Everybody will say he played the race card and he will be in big trouble. And the Clintons think the media is tough on them?

BHO does say that he counts on the Black vote. He refused to denounce the Hitler-like pastor there because, he said, by doing so, he would lose "the Black community." In fact, BHO belongs to that Church to establish his bona fides with the Black community, and therefore, he cannot renounce the racist views espoused by that Church.
BHO is a racist. His Church teaches that every action must be judged by how it affects Black people; and he and his wife and his pastor all show every sign of endorsing that view unequivocally.

Well, actually no one could win the White House without a big support from women as women vote in higher numbers than men and they had done such in every (general) election since 1964. Quite truly the women's vote trumps the Black vote.

Also, why make mountains out of molehills? Such has happened too many times in this primary race.

BHO WILL BE SHORT OF THE NEEDED AMOUNT OF DELEGATES. WHY MAKE RULES IF YOU DON'T ABIDE BY THEM? BHO PEOPLE TRYING TO SHORT CIRCUIT THE PROCESS, MAKING NEW RULES MIDSTREAM. If Dems simply wanted to nominate person in lead, then why wasn't that the rule?

I don't think now is the time to ask her to quit, I do think after this string of primaries, if she doesn't hold her double digit lead against Obama, if he wins North Carolina and Indiana, then she should step down. I would hope that she leaves the race with a little bit more class, shows a little bit more of her savvy in regards to what's going on with the issues. Just repeating, ready on day one, 35 years of experience doesn't bode well in showing that a female can be as astute or more so, then her male counterpart. People say, she's a fighter, she doesn't know when to quit, well Bush is a fighter and doesn't know when to quit, so that necissarily isn't a plus, fighting a losing battle. I think the Clintons had their time in the White House, they, as well as the Bush's don't own the White House, we the people do.

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s cash-strapped presidential campaign has been putting off paying hundreds of bills for months — freeing up cash for critical media buys,

The owner of Top Job Services Inc., a cleaning service in Des Moines, Iowa, was hired in November of last year, prior to the Iowa caucuses, to clean the Clinton campaign headquarters on a regular basis.

He said he has not seen one penny of the $7,561.70 he is owed.

A pair of Ohio companies owed more than $25,000 by Clinton for staging events for her campaign are warning others in the tight-knit event production community — and anyone else who will listen — to get their cash upfront when doing business with her.

• Word is the cash feeding into Hillary Clinton's campaign coffers has not only slowed down in a big way, undisclosed campaign debts that have yet to be made public could signal the end ..
"It won't necessarily be politics which may force her out of the race," said a top Dem source. "There is no hanky panky going on, but Hillary needs to raise money to stay alive . . . and word is she may not be able to climb out of the money hole."

"I think it's safe to say Hillary's not going to dip into her pocket again," the source added. "And if her employees start taking pay cuts while chasing the dream . . . it's usually the beginning of the body becoming totally cold."
