Joe Lieberman Likens John McCain To JFK

Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I-Connecticut, compared presumptive Republican nominee John McCain to a surprising figure on Sunday -- Democratic icon John F. Kennedy.

"I'm a Democrat who came to the party in the era of President John F. Kennedy," Lieberman told George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "This Week. "It's a strange turn of the road when I find among the candidates running this year that the one, in my opinion, closest to the Kennedy legacy, the John F. Kennedy legacy, is John S. McCain."

Now ,now, I didn't say ALL Vietnam Vets were part of the McCain/Leiberman base...but usually when you see McCain speaking, thats his adoring audience at the VFW. The "Greatest Generation" is almost extinct now, and the Vietnam Era vets fill in on the stage behind the podium at speeches.

I've NEVER understood why Vietnam vets pander to pro-war shills like Bush and McCain and Cheney, given that the vets are the ones that got the raw end of the Vietnam War. Believe me, I remember those years well, lost friends and family over there. I guess the years change the story in their minds.
