Bush Throwing

President Bush threw out the ceremonial first pitch tonight at the Washington Nationals season opener and the inaugural game at Washington's National Ballpark. But the President — an avid baseball fan and the former owner of the Texas Rangers — probably didn't get the fan response he was hoping for, as he was largely booed by the 41,000-person sellout crowd as he walked out to throw the pitch.

Watch:

Boooooooing him isn't enough. He should be impeached & tried as a war criminal - with his nasty gang of miscreants.

My opinion: The Washington Nationals (what a f----n name) will last 1.5 more years and then move to Nashville or Memphis or Charlotte or someplace.

ps. The booing is for infantiles. Glad I wasn't there or didn't watch.

These are sports fans we're talking about here. Booing is part of the game. And I couldn't think of a more deserving fellow...........wait, I take that back. Cheney at least deserves as much, probably more.

It takes courage to stand before a spittle-flecked mob screeching for blood...

"Courage"? More like hubris. How much courage does it take to stand protected by the Secret Sevice and God alone knows how many Blackwater snipers.

Courage is what goes on in the alleys of Baghdad and the mountain passes of Afghanistan, displayed by American troops whose lives hang in the balance due this one-time Deserter's vainglorious attempt at playing Emperor.

Not when you have the Secret Service and all 4 branches of the military at your disposal.

Courage or stupidity. Either one will suffice.

Hawk needs to get off that CRACK...Respect is earned where i come from...

Sorry to hear that. Where I come from, respect is something you are entitled to and not subject to the capricious interests and prejudices of individuals. What you are talking about isn't respect... he simply hasn't made you like him. Two different things entirely.

On your other comment. The Bush administration has certainly done a bad job. However, there is such a thing as constitutional checks and balances. The democrats are at least as guilty, perhaps more so by virtue of hypocrisy.

Bush may be throwing the kids under the bus, but the democrats, in exchange for pork and favors, have made damn sure the bus never runs out of fuel. This is like the dysfunctional family with a drunk for a father. They've got no room to piss and moan if they make his beer runs.

Entitled to respect? Well, obviously you're from the same lofty heights as Bush. Or, like him, you believe you're from lofty heights.

Respect is something you give a stranger until he shows he doesn't deserve it. Bush is a president who has shown a patent disregard for the majority of people in this country and who has never worked for anything except some blow and a whore.

He received the ignoble response he deserved for his bad behavior and his incompetence. I can dislike people but still respect them. Obviously, Bush has earned the disrespect of the American people, many who thought they liked him. No easy feat.

Trying to turn and blame our country's woes on the democrats is disrespectful of our intelligence. Once again, ad nauseum, the republicans controlled Congress until recently and the republicans have worked to thwart the small democrat majority's ability to make any progress. The current state of affairs is for republicans to bear. They created it, they've kept us from fixing it and they are to blame.

Perhaps if you worded your comment a bit more obtusely, your obvious attempt to slam the democrats with your BS wouldn't be so obvious.

Of course he can throw; he threw the economy into chaos; threw the soldiers into Iraq; threw decency out of the people's house; threw the world order into chaos; threw 4000 soldier's to their death's; Oh yes, he can throw...

And all because the Republicans on the Supreme Court threw (stole) the election for him in 2000!

I found the spectatcle inexpressively sad and i wondered two things.......

First, how many of those booing voted for Bush in 2000, or even TWICE.

In four years, who will be "on-the-mound? Will there be any improvement? Are we about to repeat the mistakes of the last eight years? Could it be even worse by then?.................................

to your first question. Remember that only about 60% of registered voters turned out to vote. That said clearly not every single american is registered to vote. So lets just say that only 80% of amercians are registered to vote. Now that would put the voting public down to about 50% of americans. Bush didn't win the popular vote. so he didn't even garner over 25% of the american public as voters who voted for him. Now all my figures are obviously not exact but you get the idea of where I am going here. America has been ruled over the last 7 plus years by a minority within our country that do not have the best interests of our country as a whole in their hearts and minds. So to answer your question probly not most of those people in the stands voted for him.

to your second question? Good question.

This display of blissful arrogance ties in fittingly with Bush's comments to combat troops about his wishing that he were fighting on the frontlines in the wars that he has initiated. Matthews rightly points out that this is how he and similar armchair generals boldly march into combat. The man deserves a medal for valor along with his prison sentence after his warcrimes trial.

Well, I agree with the boo's, but it made me want to cry. My favorite game and the person who we should all want to honor. How did we get here? And how many of htose booing voted for him. Twice?
