Ed Rendell

Great catch from Michael Calderone at the Politico:

Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, a strong supporter and prominent surrogate of the Hillary Clinton campaign, appeared on Fox News' morning show "Fox & Friends" today and praised the network for its "objective" and "balanced" coverage.

"I think during this entire primary coverage, starting in Iowa and up to the present, Fox has done the fairest job, has remained the most objective of all the cable networks," Rendell told host Steve Doocy. "You actually have done a very balanced job of reporting the news, and some of the other stations are just caught up with Senator Obama, who is a great guy, but Senator Obama can do no wrong, and Senator Clinton can do no right."

Doocy told Rendell, "I just had a tingling in my leg when you were talking about that," a reference to MSNBC host Chris Matthews, who has been criticized for unfairly treating Hillary Clinton and who once announced on air that he felt a "thrill going up his leg" during an Obama speech.

Watch:

Recently, "Fox & Friends" was the center of mayhem at the network, when an anchor walked off set over a dispute about Obama's comments on race and "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace railed against the network for what he called "two hours of Obama-bashing." "Fox & Friends" hosts later claimed the walk-off stunt was a joke, and Wallace admitted that he regretted speaking out against his network.

You Clinton haters better remember one thing - You have burned the bridge with me.
I have always voted Democratic. But I cannot vote for someone who inspires so much hate.
I may have to stay home on election day but I cannot vote for Obama.
I do not think Obama can win the election now anyway.

Stop and think. Get out and vote, maybe not for Obama, but make your vote count if you're concerned about a right wing, corporatist Supreme Court, the loss of Roe v. Wade, continued loss of life and money in the mideast, a beleaguered education system, crumbling infrastructure, the increased privatization of state institutions and ongoing judicial corruption - vote Democratic. The Democratic Party is more than Barack Obama. It's more than all the candidates. It's imperfect as hell, and I sure wish there was something better. But I don't have any faith in the other side. They foisted Bush on us. Twice. Crash doesn't look like he's any more of a bargain than the Shrub. This administration has been a travesty, delivered with a smirk and a sneer. Do any of us really want more of that? I'm voting Democrat.

I have always hated Fox but I have found that with regard to Obama and Clinton coverage, that Fox is much More credible that CNN or MSNBC.
It was a real shocker.
I have had my world turned upside down this campaign season.
the total hatred from the Obama supporters and the media bias for Obama (including HuffPost) has been very disappointing.

The only way Hillary Clinton can win in the primaries is if the republicans in those states vote for her. This started in Ohio and Texas with Rush Limbaugh's called for his republican listeners in those states vote for Hillary in order to keep the democratic race going. Bill was on Rush's radio program the following week. Hillary was on Fox with the Greta's program and now, Rendell was on Fox on Sunday. Hillary does not have enough democratic votes to beat Obama in each of the primaries. She will only beat him with the help of the republican votes in each state. On the Bill O'Reilly program on 3/24/08, Newt Gingrinch said that Hillary will be okay in PA. because Rendell sent an e-mail to his republican friends in PA. and told them to change their registration to democrat and vote for Hillary on 4/22/08. Hillary has a lot of support from Fox. Newsnetwork. The owner, Murdock held donated to her campaign.

The DNC needs to put this nonsense to an end. Surely, they're able to see what Clinton and her supporters are doing. When you have a Clinton supporter commending FAUX News on a job well done.............that smells of poop. I'm so disappointed in the democratic party and how they've allowed the Clintons to control the rules of the game. Once this election cycle is over, I'm done with the democrats.

Yea but she seems to have hog tied them. If they force her out, they are "the mean boys picking on the girl" and there seems to be a pretty large percentage of gullible people who would buy this hook line and sinker. If she stays in she blows up the party and herself. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Oh boy! I used to work in a health, fitness, beauty shop, smoothie bar type gym connected to the Bellvue Hotel down the street from City Hall. Every morning this man would sit with us after working out and chat with us about the Sixers, traffic, and the Eagles you know everyday life stuff. A real down to earth man but a well vetted politician. I have lots of respect for you Eddie but you are way off base. Fox News or whatever you wanna call it is not your friend.

Ed Renell is right, - MSNBC attacks Senator Clinton non-stop, they are nothing more than
flacks and hacks for Obama. All media does including CNN with the attack dogs of Blitzer &
Gloria Borger. The media decided they were going to destory Hillary Clinton, they have been
trying for decades, but as she points out she is still here. And millions of people have voted for
her, and millions more in the next 10 states who will be voting.

I'm sure Rendell would believe that Faux News was the best. All of the other networks are not even mentioning the fact that Obama's middle name is Hussein and that his last name sounds like Osama. They don't even dare drop innuendoes that he may well be a Muslim "as far as we know." I think the other networks are engaging in some kind of cover-up!

One of the things I dislike most about FOX News.... besides the obviously serious lack of fair and balanced reporting.... is how they have made acceptable name calling, and telling people to shut up...

I don't know how many times I have watched bill o'reillys show, and he routinely calls people names like, "pinhead" and the like.... and has told people to shut up and that they are stupid.... it makes me sick...

I was always taught, as a child, that name calling was very wrong.... and yet here is a grown man engaging in such childish behavior that all of his followers think it is okay as well....

PS... I only watch it to see what the dark side is up to.... a kind of "know thy enemy" thing....

Hey Nochnoi, what up?!

Remember how Fox did such a balanced job by being the only "news" station "reporting" that Obama went to and studied at an extremist Muslim madrasa. Even though it was completely false and without any substnasiation. It was a rumor and a lie and they reported it as news to destroy Obama.

Faux News is just that and Rendell only reveals his true character by complimenting them.

I follow the coverage on msnbc, Fox, CNN and ABC, together with nytimes and washington post and Rendell does have a point. While all the other services swoon over Obama and hang on every word he says, the guys at Fox do take the time to be critical on Obama from time to time.

Does not mean that Clinton gets treated with kid gloves on Fox, but at least they try to give both candidates some room and credit where credit is due.

So, yes, like it or not, FoxNews does the best and most balanced job this year.

You are insane. Fox News is pathetic, it's hard to watch for more than 30 seconds.
Maybe it's 'Hannities America,' you like best, or the 'O'Reilly Factor,' or the great news interview, "WEC Girls," ... Fox News = PATHETIC! Go slap yourself.

I think one reason why Senator Clinton gets such bad press is an historical animosity towards the media. Senators McCain and Obama have had great relationships with reporters, been open and giving of their time, and seen reporters more as collaborators than enemies. That has a huge effect on coverage.

By the way, don't slam me about Chris Matthews - I get it, but he's just one guy who blows his mouth.

Ed Rendell is a right wing centrist "Democrat" - the blue collar Irish Catholic cultural Democrat who is not unlike Bob Casey on many issues EXCEPT that Ed Rendell owes Bill Clinton much for the support that WH gave Rendell was he was Philadelphia mayor. Rendell always must have known that the price was support for Hillary's campaign.

So - couple that with the fact that Rupert Murdoch and Richard Mellon Scaife want a Clinton nomination in order to defeat her with John McBush is evident. If, for example, Clinton would win, it is sure that a DLC Corporate Democrat like Bill and Hillary Clinton would keep the spigot flowing.
