Ed Rendell

Great catch from Michael Calderone at the Politico:

Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, a strong supporter and prominent surrogate of the Hillary Clinton campaign, appeared on Fox News' morning show "Fox & Friends" today and praised the network for its "objective" and "balanced" coverage.

"I think during this entire primary coverage, starting in Iowa and up to the present, Fox has done the fairest job, has remained the most objective of all the cable networks," Rendell told host Steve Doocy. "You actually have done a very balanced job of reporting the news, and some of the other stations are just caught up with Senator Obama, who is a great guy, but Senator Obama can do no wrong, and Senator Clinton can do no right."

Doocy told Rendell, "I just had a tingling in my leg when you were talking about that," a reference to MSNBC host Chris Matthews, who has been criticized for unfairly treating Hillary Clinton and who once announced on air that he felt a "thrill going up his leg" during an Obama speech.

Watch:

Recently, "Fox & Friends" was the center of mayhem at the network, when an anchor walked off set over a dispute about Obama's comments on race and "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace railed against the network for what he called "two hours of Obama-bashing." "Fox & Friends" hosts later claimed the walk-off stunt was a joke, and Wallace admitted that he regretted speaking out against his network.

Gov. Rendell lies as good as Hilary. Barack did not block the Mich. Revote; did anyone really think Barack is stupid enough to let Hilary’s fat cat supporters pay for a revote? Come on people would you? She signed a document agreeing that Mich. And Florida would not count, but when she started losing she wanted to change the rules, which is typical of the Clintons.
Gov. Rendell is typical of the fat cat’s that think they own this country the only thing he is missing is a big fat cigar, they think this country should be ran the way they want it to be. He wants the Electoral College now to make the choice, not the will of the people; the Electoral College should be tossed out. The will of the people should make the choice.
When Barack is president these Fat Cat’s will be finished, some of them maybe facing criminal charges. When Rendell comes up for re-election the people of Pennsylvania may tell him his type of politics is over.

Fair and Balanced /= Agreeing with my view, your views, or our opponents views. Fair and Balanced = offering up a variety of opposing views. We all need to challenge the sensationalist, ratings driven networks. Even though my views are represented by a certain network or at least heard more often, I still take what I am hearing with a grain of salt. People can learn more about health care, the Iraq war, American reputation abroad, and education from a couple hours on C-Span than a whole week's worth of MSM "news" show coverage.

yeah, well Obama supporters were praising the Cheney energy bill here on Huffpo the other night, when they found out their guy voted to support Darth's big tax break to energy companies. For any democrat to support anything Cheney does, let alone praise it is obscene. Is there no depth to which Obama supporters won't sink. Because I have to tell you, supporting and praising Dick Cheney can't get much lower for anyone who calls themself a democrat.

Yes. There is a limit to the Depth we will go. It's called the Clinton Extreme. Anywhere past that, and your soul gets crushed. Clinton and her cohorts however, can go as deep as they want, as they were without souls to begin with.

YEE-HAWWWW!

We don't need CHEAP GAS, we need to make gas OBSOLETE. Anything else is a false choice, and a losing proposition.

Mattie,
It wasn't a "big tax break," although it's much easier to dislike Sen. Obama if you mischaracterize something he's supported (and, oddly enough, what Sen. Clinton supported in its first incarnation). The bill actually amounted to a 3% tax INCREASE on oil companies -- with the majority of funding going to alternative-fuel research. A little while back, Dan Abrams did an in-depth investigation into the bill -- I'd advise you to check out MSNBC.com for any video of his segment. Or, if you prefer another source of truth, you can visit senate.gov. Fact of the matter is, Obama is more a pragmatist than a liberal, and he's recognized that while it's good and dandy to promise mandated universal health care and huge pieces of government cheese to aid the little guy, along with a promise to end the war in 60 days, it's more platitude than truth-telling. Simply put: there's no way even a slightly tipped Democratic Congress will have a chance at passing expensive legislation or bills that may "piss off" their fundraisers -- nor can any candidate see the future to predict that Iraq will be a bastion of peace in 9 months. He's a fan of pay-go, and unfortunately in this country of credit cards, too many people are willing to live on borrowed money and leave a tab for their children and their grandchildren to pay.

The Clintons and their team continue to slap democrats in the faces. Anyone would be crazy to follow those that would do anything to win including lying about being under a rain of gunfire.

Clinton told the story so well and yet, she suggested that she simply misspoke. I think it is objectionable to ask how one could be mistaken about being under gunfire.

Any Democrat that understands anything about the last 10 to 14 years of American politics should be able to comprehend that appealing to the judgment of the Satan that is FOX "news'' is anathema to any sane Democratic campaign. That is unless the DLC is intending to capitulate to the Republican minority and pave the way to the party's self-destruction and the emergence of a new Progressive Democratic party in time to protest McCain starting World War III.

The sheep hate on FOX News in a very UNfair and UNbalanced way.

It's like some kind of anti-worship with most people here.

If things aren't going correctly in your world, you always have FOX News to hate on.

Ahhhhh... a retort from on high... elitism at it's finest...

So I guess all the Dems have to do when they win the POTUS is to outlaw FOX News, and America will be Back On Track.

So much easier than fixing the education system...

Fox News is pretty smelly too, SmellyOne. They smell like the BS they're dishing out most of the time.

Poor CNN. They've tried so hard, but they're still losing out to Fox in the "spinning for Clinton" 24/7 effort. Sad.

Poor MSNBC News. They've tried so hard, day in and day out, kissing Obama's butt, and they are still losing to both Fox News and CNN.

Sad.

No station can be 100% fair and balanced due to the impossibility of remaining accountable for every word that is said on the news shows by all the guest speakers they have. With that said, Fox is far more fair than MSNBC....MSNBC is the most agenda driven network out there. They continuously display their obvious discontent with the truth and only choose to offer subjective coverage of the candidates. Their shows intentionally blast conservatism in favor of liberalism. Fox's two primetime shows are great examples of how they offer more objective news than MSNBC. Bill O'reilly's coverage of the election and the issues has been extremely balanced, while Sean Hannity has Alan Colmes for the left's perspective of issues. Olberman's a relentless, anti-right tool the far left uses to manipulate younger people starting to become interested in politics. The rating's speak for themselves. O'reilly beats all the other show's at 8:00 combined. The American Public has spoken loud and clear on this issue.

How is she more Republican than ever? Again, that is probably the dumbest thing the Obama supporters keep spouting here.

Sing a new tune and come up with something else. SO DUMB

I am so disappointed in my Governor. I see this on Huffington Post while I watching him on Hardball say how it is ok for the Super Delegates to overturn the election results (i.e. disenfranchise the voters) yet unacceptable to disenfranchise the Michigan and Florida voters. When pressed on the fact that the Florida and Michigan delegations voted down the revotes, Rendell had no answer. His latest response is to look at the electoral college results. Eddie it is not the general election yet. Can not wait to vote this bum out of office.

this is why the party has to go through a "cleansing". after all that FOX did to be George's network cheerleader.. after absolutely LOVING THIS WAR.. all of a sudden they say "what you want to hear about your candidate" and they become "fair and balanced". we really have to get all the baby boomers out of the pool... their wee'ing in it!
