AP writes about McCain's biography tour:

Republican Sen. John McCain opened a new chapter in his presidential campaign on Monday, casting himself as an "imperfect servant of my country," descended from a family of U.S. warriors devoted to honor, courage and duty.

In remarks both personal and philosophical, McCain recalled ancestors buried at Arlington National Cemetery, and mused about "the honor we earn and the love we give when we work and sacrifice with others for a cause greater than our self-interest."

Bloomberg says the tour will "underscore how war dominates his world view":

John McCain's weeklong "biography tour" to showcase his half-century of public service will underscore how war dominates his world view.

"McCain's record of noble service is almost a singular asset in his campaign," said David Gergen, a professor of public service at Harvard University who advised four presidents. "The question is whether he can convince people that he will not only keep us safe but also be cautious in using military power."

Love that picture... Looks shell-shocked... Afraid to come out of the chopper.

Honorable men don't torture prisioners, courageous men dont compromise their principles to obtain the grudging support of thugs, men of integrity don't sell their souls to gain the world.

McCain's love of war is unmatched. 100 years in Iraq. War with Iran. Please don't send our heroes to die for the neo-con ego

Iraq is not the prize. Haven't you noticed the increasing rhetoric against Iran? IRAN is the endgame. The brownshirts are out in full force amping up the "threat" of Iranians killing Americans.

In his biography tour, Will McCain also tells us how much he benefited from "legacy" affirmative action breaks on account of being the son and grandson of admirals? Will he also tell us that he finished the naval acdemy 5th from the bottom of his graduating class? Will he tell us how much he sucked as a naval pilot, tht his errors were responsible for the fiery deaths of 93+ sailors on board an aircraft carrier? Will he also tell us about his poor moral judgment, philandering, drinking bouts? Will he tell us that he abandoned an injured wife who waited for him to return from Vietnam, for a trophy wife? Will he tell us about his Keating 5 scandal?. He may claim to have reformed, but his current stubborn embrace of Bush criminal policies makes him a serious liability to this nation's progress. Question is will the MSM whom he has wined and dined properly vet him or they will parrot the sanitized hero narrative?

No of course not. Will he tell? And those who might will be called "slandering a war hero"...And if by chance someone has the guts to tell it...the MSM won't print it and carry on for days and days and days..they are manipulating "myfriends" McBush right into the presidency. (well a little help from the cat fighting on the dems side, but still..)

Well, if Gergen is in the conversation, all we will hear is how Crash is a True American Hero rather than another silver-spoon scion of the MIC.

Get your facts straight zizi. It was 142 sailors who died on the Forrestal.

McCain does have a character issue. It is time the MSM people would do a vetting on him instead of sharing a picnic with him.

"Will he also tell us that he finished the naval acdemy 5th from the bottom of his graduating class?"

Yes, in fact, he has. If you've watched him on the stump before the race was over, this was a standard part of his speech...it was an 'applause getter'...something to the effect of, "Only in America could a guy finish 5th from the bottom of his class at the naval academy and run for President" is what he would say. Perhaps it is only in America that you can find Citizens and Voters who think that, at least in relation to Academic skill and performance, 'stupid', 'lazy', or 'below average' are all good traits for the highest ranking member in the Government.

Draft = NEVER

The draft--an honest, loop-hole free draft--would be the best thing that could happen to this country. THEN people in power would truly think twice about going into a senseless war, because it would be their kids on the line for once. But it would only work if "other priorities" dodgers like Dickwad Cheney couldn't weasel out of it.

A draft would be a good thing. That way, every family in the country would have a chance to serve the policies of the government they elected. We would elect better leaders as a result.

The lack of a draft has allowed the use of military force by an incompetent administration to go unchallanged.

Bring back the draft.

Enough of these failures who think they can "redeem" themselves by wasting our boys' lives, spending us into bankruptcy and making us a nation that condones torture.

spending us into bankruptcy?

I think it's Obama and Clinton who combined for millions in earmarks.

McCain = 0

Interesting that you can’t make up your mind.

Start with:

McCain = Military Draft.
Don't do it America.

Clearly meant as a scare tactic to frighten Independents from voting for McCain.

But then notice all the liberal dems advocating the need / desire for a military draft. Almost sound like warmongers.

A draft may well be the only way for the vast American Shopping-Mall crowd to realize that the Republicans are not their friends, and would sacrifice their lives on the altar of corporate profit without batting an eyelash.
