Lara Flynn Boyle's Face Prompts Alarm

Lara Flynn Boyle is widely believed to have turned to plastic surgery in her quest to remain youthful in recent years, but as the star arrived at Mr. Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills yesterday, she looked anything but fresh faced.

The 38-year-old's bloated face, drooping jowls and bursting trout pout rendered her almost unrecognisable from the actress who first shot to fame in director David Lynch's cult television series Twin Peaks.

Her famously fragile, childlike frame, which was left swimming in a beige pant suit, only added to her worrying appearance.

Lara, who formerly starred in popular US series The Practice and chalked up big screen credits including Men In Black 2, has struggled to keep her career as buoyant in recent times.

That's what can happen when you have too much work done. She started with the colagen injections in the lips and then lost control. Such a shame, she used to be very cute, now she looks freakish. And she's only 38 years old. Poor her!

It is very possible that she is ill and on prednisone, which makes a person look puffy. My mother had that same odd puffiness when she was on this medication.

You could be right. I was on prednisone for 5 days after having a kidney transplant. Luckily, my doctor switched me to a different medication.

It's great that they can do transplants with other medication now. In the past, a transplant meant prednisone (at a low dose) for life.

Naw, brother, the years aren't vandals, they are gifts.

My wife is older than Flynn Boyle and she's more beautiful now than when I met her. And if that's because the years have distorted my vision, then I thank the years for their kindness.

It's only sad when someone so fears time that they'll disfigure themselves to pretend time has stopped. It never, ever works.

Haven't you noticed yet that nobody in their late 30s looks like a teenager anymore, and nobody in their 40s looks like a twenty year old anymore? I have recently noticed that she's recovered nicely from her anorexia of several years ago. Before you start making assumptions about her health, what do Ms. Boyle's parents looks like?

To me, it looks like those same injections of industrial grade silicon that Priscilla Presley and others were suckered into by that quack "plastic surgeon."

If you look at all the pictures with the story, at first it appears she has put on some weight, but take a closer look at her pants legs - very thin stems amid the cloth. So it's not a weight gain.

Could be steroids or prednisone, but really, I think (again, if you read the full story where she is quoted from years past about hating to age in Hollywood) it's some form of injection that simply didn't turn out right. Which is a shame. She had a very cute, petite face - even if she did look like she never ate more than a leaf of lettuce a day.

Wow she looks really awful. She is way too young to need plastic surgery but then again, stars in their teens and early 20's are having surgery( Ashley Tisdale). She is anorexic as well. She is not well.
