Lou Dobbs Condi

Lou Dobbs visited Wolf Blitzer in the "Situation Room" on Friday and railed against Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice for saying that race is still an issue in America because it was an American "birth defect."

Dobbs dismissed Rice's very notion, claiming race is no longer an issue in a society as diverse as modern day America. "The reality is, this is the most socially, ethnically, religiously, racially diverse society on the face of the earth," Dobbs said. "Now, Wolf, we don't make enough of that in the national media. We listen to some idiot say you can't talk about race."

Then Dobbs tripped over his words, as he declared, "Not a single one of these cotton...[stammering]...these just ridiculous politicians should be the moderator on the issue of race."

OMG!!!! WOW! He is exhibit G why there is a race issue in this country. And he just proved it by inserting foot in mouth. Most of the colloquial American expressions are born out of race. That's "cottonpickers", "picnics", and a host of others we don't even think about. Lou Dobbs is becoming the Pat Buchanan on latino issues and is obviously a racism apologist. What he wants is a forum where whites can feel free to insult minorities without being called on it. This is not the 60s.

I agree with you, except for the "picnic" part:

"In the late 1990s an e-mail hoax spread around the internet claiming that the word "picnic" was actually derived from racist term for a lynching. This claim had no basis in fact. See: http://www.snopes.com/language/offense/picnic.asp"

Who says he is the "voice of true Americans"? There's only one voice for me, and that's mine.

I was referring to his populist stance during his show. His posturing to Independent America that is not tied down by the man...ect.

Amen... Dobbs, puleasssse. He lost me with the "ethnocentric interests "comments about the Richardson endorsement. Actually, he loses me evertime he opens his mouth - "Tonight...how illegal Mexicans brought about the collapse of Bear Stearns...and we got the footage."
