WASHINGTON — Barack Obama picked up the endorsement of Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar Sunday night, giving him another superdelegate supporter.

In a statement provided to The Associated Press, Klobuchar said Obama "has inspired an enthusiasm and idealism that we have not seen in this country in a long time."

Klobuchar, a freshman Democrat, said Obama speaks "with a different voice, bringing a new perspective and inspiring a real excitement from the American people." She compared him to the late Hubert Humphrey, who served as a senator from Minnesota and as vice president.

Obama carried Minnesota by a large margin over rival Hillary Rodham Clinton last month.

"My endorsement reflects both Barack's strong support in my state and my own independent judgment about his abilities," Klobuchar said.

She cited their work together on issues such as ethics reform and toy safety.

"Barack has been a proven agent for change and advocate for middle-class Americans," Klobuchar said.

In a statement, Obama said he's grateful for Klobuchar's support. According to the Obama campaign, Klobuchar is the 64th superdelegate to endorse him since the Feb. 5th Super Tuesday contests.

Last week, Obama picked up the support of Sen. Bob Casey Jr., D-Pa., giving the candidate a boost heading into the Pennsylvania primary on April 22.

The Wellstone thing that gives the best welfare benefits to leeches? I love that too, nothing like seeing poor people from Chicago come into Minnesota to collect a welfare check of your money and then leave again.

Give up????

It is more like WAKE UP? One would think many of those in Hillary's corner aspire for the "good 'ole" days of non-stop anti-Clinton right wing attack. I for one think it is TIME to MOVE on and for that reason, both the Bushes and Clinton's need not EVER live in the whitehouse again.

Hillary should stick to representing New York or maybe Obama can nominate her to the Supreme Court.

If I'm not mistaken, Obama leads in both pledged delegates (primaries and caucuses) and in super delegates. In other words, it is all but mathematically impossible for Obama to lose his lead in delegates unless he dies before the election.

So, Hillary can stay in the race all the way she f*cking wants, but she will never win!

Reality check, Hillary. Do you care more about yourself or more about the Democratic Party and Obama Barack who have to take on John McCain in November?

We already know that you voted for George W. Bush's War on Iraq (and never apologized for that). Do you really think that Democrats and the American voters are going to support a person who stupidly voted for an illegal, immoral, and bloody War on Iraq?

Please respect the American people who know that the War on Iraq was a major-league mistake.

Thank you.

It is pure naivete on the part of the party elite and concerned constituents to believe that the drama Hillary has planned for the convention will not be designed to threaten the Party's legitimacy (FL MI) and chances to win (revenge voting).

Do not believe the "not hurting the party" rhetoric for a moment. It's only meant to buy time to make the threats most effective.

Freshman Sen Klobuchar knows which side her butt is breaded on.

Reid is a bit corrupt; Pelosi, as a Cheney ally is totally corrupt.

The confused Sen Klobuchar exhibits a Show-Me-The-Money kind of leadership.

Will she resign if her political promiscuity proves wrong.?

There is a lot money available, out there, for unprincipled Obama supporters--whose corruption is required to elect McCain or something much worse.

I long for the Dem Party of FDR.

No More Gore.

Many of the new, uncorrupted senators and representitives are supporting him. Claire McCaskel, Bob Casey, and now Amy. I've watched these junior senators in hearings and on the floor and they have earned my respect. They will help save this country. Now we just need Jim Web and Sharrod Brown.
Go-Barrack!

Are you nuts?

All politicians are dirty in one form or another. How exactly do you think they get to where they are without owing someone (s) ?

You Obama cult people live in world that only exists in your minds. No politician is pure of heart.

And the only reason they are backing Obama ( for now) is because Obamas check cleared. At the convention any of these people can and probably will switch to Hillary.

What that moron kennedy does not recognize, because it serves his bigotry, is that Clinton gives money to her supporters, that it was always thus, that all successful politicians have PACs which they use to give money to allies.

There is nothing odd or amazing that Obama would give a few thousand dollars to a senator. The suggestion that she is corrupted by such a tiny sum of money is laughable.

Kennedy would fellate Rush Limbaugh for that sort of money, so he thinks that anyone taking that sum has sold his or her soul.

Obama-style. Is it ready for the Show?
From Jennifer Rubin at Commentary:

Life in A Cocoon
Jennifer Rubin - 03.31.2008 - 15:12
A problem for Barack Obama"after living in the womb of the academic Left, running a virtually uncontested Senate race, being welcomed to the Senate as a trailblazer, and then being received by throngs of cheering pundits as the savior of American politics"is that he hasn"t learned to confront criticism. When reporters wanted to quiz him on Tony Rezko, he seemed shocked that they should demand answers to more than eight questions.

Today he got into a bit of a back and forth with a reporter over his Iraq position. What strikes you is that he"s not very good on his feet, hemming and hawing about what forces he would leave there and for how long. (He then resorts lamely to John McCain"s "100 years" comment, feigning ignorance about using the comment out of context.) When everyone you come in contact with agrees with you, and fawns over you to boot, it does not prepare you to defend yourself or answer tough questions. The media fan club so far has done their favorite candidate no favors in that regard.

I understand that ten multi-millionaire Clinton supporters recently wrote to Nancy Pelosi, suggesting that Congressional superdelegates risked the loss of financial support from certain major donors if they (the Congressional superdelegates) committed their votes to Barack Obama. I also understand that notwithstanding those veiled threats, seven Democratic in the North Carolina Congressional delegation are going to endorse Barack Obama sometime within the next few days.
Superdelegates watch and weigh many things, not the least of which is the ebb and flow of their own fundraising efforts. It is important that superdelegates understand that they will NOT lose by supporting Barack Obama, but rather, that they will gain. Accordingly, if and when those North Carolina superdelegates make their announcement in support of Obama, I will be making online contributions to each of them. I hope that many tens of thousands of Obama supporters do so as well.

Another thing they are considering is the possibility of a contested convention, which would suck big time and would damage the prospects of many of these congressmen.

Bill and Hillary can sew this up for Obama by continuing with the threats to fight this out at the convention. The party is on the verge of drumming them out.
