WASHINGTON — Barack Obama picked up the endorsement of Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar Sunday night, giving him another superdelegate supporter.

In a statement provided to The Associated Press, Klobuchar said Obama "has inspired an enthusiasm and idealism that we have not seen in this country in a long time."

Klobuchar, a freshman Democrat, said Obama speaks "with a different voice, bringing a new perspective and inspiring a real excitement from the American people." She compared him to the late Hubert Humphrey, who served as a senator from Minnesota and as vice president.

Obama carried Minnesota by a large margin over rival Hillary Rodham Clinton last month.

"My endorsement reflects both Barack's strong support in my state and my own independent judgment about his abilities," Klobuchar said.

She cited their work together on issues such as ethics reform and toy safety.

"Barack has been a proven agent for change and advocate for middle-class Americans," Klobuchar said.

In a statement, Obama said he's grateful for Klobuchar's support. According to the Obama campaign, Klobuchar is the 64th superdelegate to endorse him since the Feb. 5th Super Tuesday contests.

Last week, Obama picked up the support of Sen. Bob Casey Jr., D-Pa., giving the candidate a boost heading into the Pennsylvania primary on April 22.

There's an interesting article on the difference between the legislative talents of Senator Obama and Senator Clinton that every Democrat should read. It specifically brings up the toy safety legislation, that Amy Klobuchar mentions in her endorsement.

Excellent post there.

Get Real! And all Clinton supporters could find many differences in the legislative talent of Clinton. And it starts with this...she did not "hit the wrong button" 6 times and she did not vote "present over 100 times". An since she has been a United States Senator since 2000 and Obama has been a United States Senator since 2006, to which most of this time he has been running for the next office, we really don't want to go there.

Who is this Clobuchar?

Does she hate all women, too?

Is she just another delusional idealist who believes in fairy tales?

No, she is a real feminist...not a fake one like your girl.

Just because I don't support Hillary, doesn't mean I am a woman hater. I want a woman president, but not this one.She doesn't represent me

I am a Clinton supporter and female. My son and husband both support Clinton. It is not about her gender, we just feel she is the stronger candidate. And you should not think that Clinton supporters think that, because we don't!!! You support Obama because you think he is the better candidate. And all is well!

Huh. 49 Democratic senators. Anyone got a count on who is for who and who is not committed?

Now the Obamabots are in favor of silencing the people and having the election decided by a cabal of party insiders huh?

Just kidding, good choice Sen. Klobuchar.

??? The people have spoken, Hillary lost. The only way she can come back is huge (65+) wins in all of the remaining contest. After May 6 the numbers will most likely show that even with 100 percent of the other contest she cant win.

This is your first election experience, right? The way the process works has been explained over and over and over again. This is far from over.

SO how is getting 65% not a chance at winning? Of course it's a long shot but anything is possible, you never know what skeleton might be lurking in Obama's closet. The point being that forcing her out, is only going to push her supporters farther away from supporting Obama. Her supporters only ask for a fair shake, but Obama supporters have no problem with Party Insiders determining the outcome, when it's in Obamas favor. THat's ok though, you'll only have yourselves to blame in Nov.

I thought the "just kidding" would make it obvious enough.

Bob Dylan should add a verse to his song Desperation Row to describe the behavior of the Clinton crowd.

But wait, maybe he was writing about her and her ilk when he began

They're selling postcards of the hanging
They're painting the passports brown
The beauty parlor is filled with sailors
The circus is in town
Here comes the blind commissioner
They've got him in a trance
One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker
The other is in his pants
And the riot squad they're restless
They need somewhere to go
As Lady and I look out tonight
From Desolation Row

Certainly the circus is in town and her blind commissioner supporters are tied to her tight-rope walking. I'm sure Bill was able to make political hay, if not send out postcards, of the execution of a retarded person for political purposes.

vincealy, as long as Obama supporters try and stop the will of the voter, ALL voters, Obama loses. Do you not get that? We both voted. Let the rest! This is hurting Obama with Clinton supporters as well as ALL that have not voted.

Countdown to the "it doesn't matter" or "who cares" from the Clinton campaign . . .

Yep, no doubt they'll add Senators to the long list of people who "don't matter" like; people (like me) from caucus states, African-Americans, people from states she didn't win, people with a college education, etc., etc., etc.
