I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Obama Bowl

Obama went bowling in Altoona, PA on a campaign stop, and proved one thing he's not good at: bowling. He was so bad, scoring a 37, the team at "Morning Joe" have already dubbed it the Altoona Massacre.
From the AP:

"My economic plan is better than my bowling," Obama told fellow bowlers Saturday evening at the Pleasant Valley Recreation Center.

"It has to be," a man called out...

A large crowd later expected later Sunday for a campaign rally at Penn State.

The night before, it was Obama Bowl-a-Rama.

And it was clear from the start of the evening that Obama was way out of his league, certainly any bowling league.

Watch:

Obama went bowling in Altoona, PA on a campaign stop, and proved one thing he's not good at: bowling. He was so bad, scoring a 37, the team at "Morning Joe" have already dubbed it the Altoona Massacre...

Check out the security detail. What is that, like 30 guys?

Barry bowls like he talks and acts--too cautiously. No leader here.

I think we've had just about as much as we can take of "leaders" who rush headlong into disasters.

Is your "gutterball" similar to gutter mouth? If so you are probably a very good bowler.

HOWARD DEAN ENDORSES MCCAIN

Even though he didn't really mean to.

"The real issue is this," Dean said in March 2004, when endorsing formal rival Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., "Who would you rather have in charge of the defense of the United States of America, a group of people who never served a day overseas in their life, or a guy who served his country honorably and has three Purple Hearts and a Silver Star on the battlefields of Vietnam?"

McCain, by the way, has been awarded the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit, two Bronze Star Medals, a Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

after the "Swift Boat" fiasco; I could care less about military service anymore, it's totallly meaningless. The military challenges the US faces is not about sending young men to foreign battlefields; it's about getting rid of religious zealots.

Ah! A "kitter paw" like myself, you need to cultivate the correct style and technique Barack.

Only let your ego fly away to dizzy heights and start bragging about abilities you don't possess!

He should be more careful. This is getting perilously close to a Dukakis moment. If you don't know how to do something, don't do it. Or you risk looking stupid. Let's leave that to George Bush.

I've never bowled in my life.

It was a riot to see him try.

Good for ya Senator!

Yes, watching Obama bowl is a riot. His sense of humor about his lack of bowling skills helped to make the event as funny as it is.

Reading and listening to folks take on Obama's bowling has helped me to see how serious most of us have become about this election season. Obama, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy his attempt at bowling... despite his 37 score. The pundits are saying that his campaign people should never have allowed him to engage in bowling being he did so poorly. I don't think being good at bowling was the point... the point was that he was out and about with common folks, and appearing to have a good time. I like that he doesn't fear looking imperfect... and that, I believe, is the other point.

Hillary says she bowled a perfect "300" game in Bosnia while under heavy sniper fire.

Reagan's wife did, not him. So if you want to compare wives, I'd take a woman who follows astrology over a woman who's NEVER been proud of America.

Out of context. She was talking about politics. I haven't been proud of our American politics either.

That's not what she said. Here's the quote: "... for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country."

There's no "never" in there. And there's a "really." It does make a difference.

I think it's good that Obama didn't get scared of a bad photo-op. It's important that people see he is a humble guy. Bob Casey's endorsement was perfect in the same sense. Obama will need more of that in the general.

Good point. Chimpy and Darth Cheney only ever showed up at staged events. At least Obama takes a crack at things where he knows he's not gonna shine and doesn't worry about risking a little embarassment.

I know someone who used to take a karate class with him in Chicago several years ago and he also described him as humble and not afraid to do things where he is not the best. He saw him get pinned to the mat by a couple of younger guys and he took it in stride.

Anybody can make a three pointer from the college or high school distance. However, can he win a slam dunk contest against Zack Wamp, or Harold Ford?

Hillary and Fox News should be all over this!

How can we have a President who can't break 100 in bowling, and pick up a 7/10 split?!?!?

/sarcasmoff

Obama is trying to get the white blue collar vote. BAd approach.

Personally, I would prefer a President who can play hoops.

Bradley for VP.

Howard Wolfson later this week: "Hillary recently bowled a 277 while under sniper fire and given these numbers we can clearly see that Hillary deserves the nomination".

We had a president that was an excellent bowler. Excellent president, not so much.
