Obama Bowl

Obama went bowling in Altoona, PA on a campaign stop, and proved one thing he's not good at: bowling. He was so bad, scoring a 37, the team at "Morning Joe" have already dubbed it the Altoona Massacre.
From the AP:

"My economic plan is better than my bowling," Obama told fellow bowlers Saturday evening at the Pleasant Valley Recreation Center.

"It has to be," a man called out...

A large crowd later expected later Sunday for a campaign rally at Penn State.

The night before, it was Obama Bowl-a-Rama.

And it was clear from the start of the evening that Obama was way out of his league, certainly any bowling league.

Watch:

I heard Obama went Crazy and started throwing bowling balls at her. She narrowly escaped being bludgeoned by a bowling pin.

His field was basketball - he was called "Barry O'Bomber" at Punahou

ABC News: Sometimes called "Barry O'bomber" for his jump shot...
...After graduation Obama left the Punahou School for Columbia University, Harvard Law School and eventually the U.S. Senate. But first, along with his fellow Rat-ballers, he went on to win the state championships -- the best basketball team in school history.

Seems like media as usual -- making a big deal about nothing. At least the guy had the guts to try something he hadn't done before. I'd bowl with him anytime (if only because he'd make my usual 65 look great!) So this will probably be the John Kerry windsurfing moment that will be played incessently so they have something to mock. Too bad they won't look at the the Stupid stuff McCain says and does given how far up his ass they are.

The jealousness of the Clinton supporters is amazing. Supporters of Barack Obama are not a cult or a Stephen King novel. If that were true then Clinton supporters are zombies who believe anything. And the slow walking zombies not the ones that can run.

he would have bowled at least a 67 if he didnt have to worry about dodging those sniper bullets.

(bowlers are some serious dudes!)

The real point that is missed here, is that Obama knew he was not a good bowler, yet he was willing to go out and do it any way. I seriously doubt if Hillary would be willing to take such a risk, even when the matter is as trivial as this one. And, in regards to Scarborough, he's a hack and a republican shrill; there's no issue about Obama that he's not willing to expound upon to make himself look silly.

Heck, from what I've read there's a bowling alley in the Whitehouse---and he surely will have the opportunity to improve. And as a voter, I wish that George Bush would have been a professional bowler---it might have saved the 4000 American lives, the structure of our military and about a 800 billion dollar hit to our national treasury.

He scored a 37???

Holy imcompetent Batman!!!!!!

Most 8 year olds who bowl for the first time will score closer to 70 or 80. That is absolutely pathetic, and laughable.

It's just a typical Democrat trying to connect with real people. Completely ridiculous.

Your comment is completely rediculous. Dems are the party of "real people".

O RLY? When have you last been to a bowling alley on a Saturday morning when the YABA kids own the joint?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:17 AM on 03/31/2008

It's a big city thing.

Not many bowling alleys in big cities.

I hope he demonstrates more skill in other key areas, such as ping pong and foosball.

Hey, is he any good at junior jumble?

Knowing stuff is great and all, but I really was hoping for a president who loved badminton as much as I do.

Yeah this was BIG news on Morning Joe this morning. Hardly mentioned was Hillary being a deadbeat and stiffing Ohio small businesses. Hardly mentioned was the fallout over Sen. Clinton’s repeated lies about Bosnia.

Some people might be offended, but bowling is a common man’s sport. Harvard intellectuals hardly suit up in rented shoes and rented balls to play.

I hope I didn’t offend anyone. That really wasn’t my intent.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:53 AM on 03/31/2008

It's a suburban common man's sport.

I live in Brooklyn and you can't find a bowling alley anywhere for miles around. Roller skating rinks are more common.

So you are of the opinion that Obama is a Harvard elite? Check!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:22 AM on 03/31/2008

Yes. Is there anything the matter with being a Harvard elite? Hillary went to Yale, but I am not sure how well she did. Bill is a Harvard elite and a Rhodes Scholar. You think he bowls? No. Bill trolls.

You want a common guy who bowls to be your president? I sure don't.

Obamas campaign is out of touch. he's trying to win the working class vote, they don't bowl anymore... they haven't for 30 years.

Perhaps his time would be better served in a VA hospital. Bowling makes him look pathetic, especially bowling gutterballs.. Perhaps next time his out of touch advisors will make him use a hula hoop.

LOL. This is just cracking me up. A 37? Wow, that is worse than my 5 year old bowls! He's not the kind of guy you want to go have a beer with at the bowling alley. I can't say that's really a bad thing. I bet Hillary could at least bowl an 80 though.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:48 AM on 03/31/2008

Yeah, after she decides the first six frames don't count. And if you get a spare in the seventh, that counts double. And the person with the highest score at the end, doesn't really win, because it's the people in the bowling alley who declare the winner. And they decide only after she's bought them all dinner and told them they are the only bowlers who know anything about the game.

What they failed to report was that he only bowled a few frames; and he did throw one spare, so let's be fair, folks! ;)

He's also doing a basketball 3 on 3 "Challenge for Change" with High School students in Indiana next month. Will HuffPo give that event as much exposure?
