Barbara Walters and the ladies of "The View" begrudgingly welcomed Jason Itzler, the so-called "King of Pimps," to the show today and proceeded to berate him on almost everything he said.

Even when introducing his segment, Barbara could barely muster the energy to welcome Itzler properly, and the ladies could only scoff as he described the various levels of pimping (for instance, the "guerrilla pimp"). Sherri chastised him for suggesting alternative career paths for his girls — they could have been strippers or dancers, he pointed out — but the real excitement came when Itzler explained why men frequent prostitutes (as their wives age, "maybe their bodies aren't as hot as they used to be," he told the ladies despite his better judgment).

Finally, Itzler explained what makes Eliot Spitzer's hooker Ashley Dupre a star in the escort industry: "She had a boob job, she has a nice little tush, she's a classy girl."

With Joe Francis in prison, this guy is my new hero.

I hope he and Joe Francis end up decaying in the same cell, sharing stories of how they exploited drunk and drugged women in their heyday. I hope they both rot there. Where is the outrage?

Are you serious? Do yourself a favor and turn off all those Lifetime movies for women. Do you honestly believe that high end escorts are drunk and drugged, or that all prostitutes are being exploited, rather than the truth that virtually all high end hookers are doing it be choice and what business is that of yours? Prostitution should be have made legal years ago, then women would be much safer.

I watch the View's hot topics almost everyday. I could not for the life of me understand why they wanted this guy on the show when they KNEW what he was coming on to talk about - did they think he was going to talk about girl scout cookies? I think that it show a lack of class on their parts to just listen to the man.

I agree... why did they have him on if they just want to berate him? They were just hoping for some high ratings. It's sickening that they even had this guy on.

I find the whole thing distasteful. Furthermore, it has been well established that Snoop Dogg is the King of Pimps.

If the three posts make it through, read the bottom one first.

Yet I have been referred to admiringly as a pimp many times in clubs. David Schuster of MSNBC got in trouble because of his naive use of the word. The standard for so many things has been lowered. I am far from a prude, but the real pimps I knew from the neighborhood would string a young girl out on heroin (today crack), beat her, throw her out of moving cars, cut her, and yes --at times kill her. Who would aspire to be such a monster? The guy in the video wants to justify what he did because his clientele was wealthy and the girls "beautiful". The rich tend to be the most perverse and they can be brutal to a young girl just like a poor "john". I love women but I cannot see being with a prostitute ever --for so many reasons, the most compelling of which is --it is not an expression of love but of lust uncontrolled. I am not saying you have to love every woman you make love to, I am saying that you should at least know her well enough to care what happens to her.

A "john" does not care, he just lusts.

Re: Schuster: Please offer one example of a politician, a "surrogate," or anyone on cable news networks who is not a whore.

Re: "should...care what happens to her:" men care about women to the exact degree as women care about men. Please give me one example to the contrary.

While trying to keep in mind the Harper's statistic: the ratio of men killing women to women killing men is 1:1.

Water seeks its own level.

If you define whore as someone who will do anything to be rewarded I have to say that it is my hope --not my personal knowledge, that many of the people involved in journalism have integrity beyond reward, otherwise how empty their life must be. Notable abstractions/exceptions do exist however. I will name Bill Moyers though as a journalist of integrity.

Bad people exist on both sides of the gender line. I was speaking in the context of women involved in prostitution however which is why I expressed what I did.

Not aware of that statistic but it does not seem intuitive based on all of the domestic violence murders I have heard about and unfortunately some I have personal knowledge of in communities where I have lived. This is one of America's great tragedies.

Water has no concern for seeking levels, being wet, or being water, that its power --it just is.

Love and peace to you.

A "pimp" where I grew up was a bad thing to be. Then suddenly overnight the world changed and I started seeing license plates, key chains, tattoos, and bumper stickers with the word. I like really nice clothes and so when I dress up and go out to party I am startled (still) at how many of the younger people use this word to describe someone who is well dressed. When I say I like nice clothes I am not referring to loud, outlandish, yet expensive clothing, I am talking about a nice conservative Italian cut suit and a pair of nice dress loafers.

Is there any shame left in this world? And the purpose of having this particular guest on is what? The call girl has become a "superstar", the pimp is on national tv declaring himself a"businessman", and the 3 Spitzer kids have to go to school everyday and live this down. Have we reached the bottom of the barrel as a society yet? Shame on Barbara for allowing this type of forum onto her morning show.

Barbar has no shame or she wouldn't have Hasselback on her show.

Babs knows what she's doing. By finding the absolute worst airhead that also happens to be Republican is a masterstroke. People start to associate the two. Would you want a smart Republican on there convincing people it is a viable alternative?
