Letterman

John McCain and David Letterman playfully traded barbs on the "Late Show" Tuesday night, each delivering a monologue of "he looks like the guy who..." jokes, such as McCain looks like the guy who "can't stop talking about how well his tomatoes are doing." Watch for yourself to see who delivered the better one-liners.

McCain is the kind of guy that even the republicans hate, so they do the second best thing, they elect a decomposing politician. It's a new strategy of limited government..necrocracy

excellent logic! because i dont support an inexperienced candidate who is unqualified to be president, i am doing the country a disservice.

BHO' s left-wing policies make him look like the kind of candidate who the Democrats can never get elected.

Ooooh! That looked so uncomfortable! So politician-like in its pandering and inability to state a position. Sort of like Iraq for some. Will this joke hurt me more than him? BHO! Ha ha ha ha…

“He’s unelectable!” I suppose we’re gonna find out, eh? Good luck with the supers.

good one!

He has more experience than clinton had when he became president. And more than kennedy had too. And even more than Bush.

clinton was the governor of a state (i.e. executive experience as a credential for an executive office, the presidency) for 12 years and the attorney general of the state of arkansas before then... so not only was he in government longer, but he, unlike senator obama who just shows up and has been campaigning for half his senate term anyway, clinton actually had real responsibility

and yes you're right obama is about as credentialed as JFK and what did JFK do that was so great? next to none of his legislation was passed until 1964-1965 once LBJ, known for his senate mastery, became president. mind you, when JFK was elected in 1960, the dems held over 60% of the senate and a comparable amount in the house.... but, because of his inexperience on foreign affairs, he did get duped into the bay of pigs invasion, which acted to encourage the cubans to put soviet missiles on their island, which nearly got us all killed. good exercise of judgment!

The Republicans have thrown McCain a bone for being such a good sport all these years, just like they did with Bob Dole a few years back. McCain embarrasses himself appearing on these late night comedy shows. At least these jokes were written for him by professionals. On the Daily Show, when he tries to be witty, it's like creepy pubescent humor toned down so much for grandma that the punch line doesn't even make sense. Makes me wonder if he's killing frogs with firecrackers in his spare time.

Looks to me like a guy who can't work with a script, so he adlibs. And usually his adlibs are pretty good, but now and then he steps on his d**k. Then he gets mad and REALLY screws up.

You sound like the kind of guy who will be surprised when McCain achieves a 50 state sweep
You should like the kind of guy who will be surprised when 30 million Democrats sit out the election because they did not like being called racists every day for six months for supporting the other candidate
You sound like the kind of guy who will be surprised when several Democrats for McCain offices pop up within walking distance from your local Starbucks
You sound like the kind of guy who will be surprised that "God Damn America" turns out NOT to be the winning slogan for the Dems in November
You sound like the kind of guy who will be heartbroken when after eight years of Republican hell, loss of civil liberties, a cruel unjust war(s) and economic devastation of America, we still lose anyway because we can't unite the party behind a candidate who can win. I know I will look like that kind of guy.

McCain looks like the guy that better choose the right running mate because that's who people should be voting for.

Maybe if he took as much time understanding the differences between Shia and Sunies he wouldn't make so many mistakes about the Iraq situation.

McCain should stick to, "Bomb, bomb, bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran"

How can anyone possibly judge which had the best barbs?
Shouldn't we be judging which WRITER for the show came up with the best barbs?
It's an artificial situation and it amazes me that anyone thinks anything either one of these men said was spontaneous.
Have we lost our ability to distinguish between fantasy and reality?
Is everything now judged on it's entertainment value, including who decides whether the country will send it's citizens across the ocean into a foreign country to kill it's citizens??
This is no different than people deciding between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton by who is the best BOWLER!!
Has the country gone crazy??

The Democratic party should save that tape for use in the campaign in the fall. Letterman was so dead on. Belly laughingly funny. McCain made me cringe. A man with a reptile in his pants??? Yuck!

mccain gambled his life on war -
now he wants to ensure
that he's won that bet.

his vietnam prison
experience DEMANDS
payback.
it will not be in peace
that mccain's other foot drops.

citizens of the u.s. -
electing mccain will
ensure WAR.

mccain = hairtrigger.

p.s. BEWARE!

Um.. Maybe it's a generational thing because I didn't find any of those jokes funny. The audience seemed to enjoy it though.

Hillary & McCain are SO awkward in public. That April Fools joke by Hillary yesterday had me cringing.

The only remaining candidate who seems comfortable in his own skin is Obama.
