John McCain and David Letterman playfully traded barbs on the "Late Show" Tuesday night, each delivering a monologue of "he looks like the guy who..." jokes, such as McCain looks like the guy who "can't stop talking about how well his tomatoes are doing." Watch for yourself to see who delivered the better one-liners.

Truth is, I always liked McCain's appearances on the The Daily Show. He can take a joke and he gets the smart banter Jon dishes out. I would probably like him personally. But I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of his temper and I certainly don't want him to be president.

And what a combover it is, the king of all combovers, it looks like it is glued down. Just show your natural self, McBush. If you're that interested in covering up baldness, what else is fake about you??

A forced, awkward smile and a tepid "thumbs up" gets you the Republican nomination?

Politics really is show business for ugly people.

EXACTLY!! this is what i've been saying. regardless of any kind of swiftboating the repubs pull out of their asses Obama is going to ROAST McCAin in debates. I mean its a mismatch of intellects of the highest magnitude

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:54 AM on 04/02/2008

If only this mattered to the American public. Remember that Kerry smoked W in the debates. And the R's just swift boated Kerry with a big assist from the MSM and then played the gay card - like they are planning to do this time.

Given their poor ratings, we can expect a campaign more ugly than we can imagine. And we must fight them on the beaches, in the towns, wherever they try to bring it on. But we won't win unless we stay unified - no matter who gets the Democratic nomination.

Debates don't matter. Did you watch the moron in office now debate? Americans are incredibly stupid and just want someone to tell them how great they are and that they shouldn't have to pay taxes. McCain will do that, he wins.

that was pretty good. I think McCain made it look too scripted though. He should have feigned thinking of lines to say.

Again, McCain tries to conflate his "one hundred years in Iraq" with US troops in Korea and Japan. THIS LYING SACK OF SHIT thinks he can fool us into believing that the Iraqis want us there like the South Koreans or the Japanese (both of whom turned our rebuilding efforts into one of the worlds largest economies) or that if we leave, IT WILL LEAD TO CHAOS. (what a crok)

John McCain is convinced that we have to INFLAME the middle east to keep control of the oil. He wants to stay there long enough to invade Iran. He wants the other surrounding nations to join us in our mission, and he thinks the only way to convince them to join us is to FORCE them, 9/11 style, into some DECADES LONG FIGHT AGAINST ISLAMIC EXTREAMISM.

The whole thing is a farce. David Ignatius reviews a new book by Marc Sageman, saying:

"The heart of Sageman's message is that we have been scaring ourselves into exaggerating the terrorism threat -- and then by our unwise actions in Iraq making the problem worse. He attacks head-on the central thesis of the Bush administration, echoed increasingly by Republican presidential candidate John McCain, that, as McCain's Web site puts it, the United States is facing "a dangerous, relentless enemy in the War against Islamic Extremists" spawned by al-Qaeda."

The Iraqi government does not want our troops to leave. Every time Obama says that "100 years" thing, he's deliberately misleading. It makes him look like a lying, Chicago-style scumbag.

http://www.cjr.org/campaign_desk/the_us_iraq_and_100_years.php?page=all

"And lately, Barack Obama in particular has stepped up his attacks on McCain’s “100 years” notion.

But in doing so, Obama is seriously misleading voters—if not outright lying to them—about exactly what McCain said. And some in the press are failing to call him on it. "

McCain is talking domestic policy with one liners he practiced. He's saying our economy is in the hands of "community colleges."

Then there's a commercial for Cialis: "seek immediate help if you experience an errection that lasts longer than four hours."

yeah right

ELECT him, then and see what happens.

You idiots that think because he was a POW and agreed with the dems on a few things that he's a good guy. Do you think he and his VICE PRESIDENT will give up all the powers Bush has stolen. When will you people vote for your own best interests and not the guy to have a beer with.

No entertainer with a conscience would have him on their show. It only confuses you idiots.

Yeah, that McCain is a card.

But I remember taking my sons to his Washington, DC office 10 years ago to ask for help. He is not so funny when he just ignores problems or tries to cover them up. Not that I ever met him--I just left him a note. I wonder if he still has the note I wrote to him.

Well, considering that some Americans don't realize that they are fundamentally HIRING someone to do a JOB when they vote for representatives up to and including the President; it makes sense that they want to vote for someone to who best reflects their personal and cultural qualities. They don't GET IT that you hire the person with the best credentials, the best knowledge base, the best interpersonal skills and the best values overall to represent them in studying, debating and writing legislation, making executive decisions etc. Since they themselves, rarely if ever, study, debate or write proposals, they don't have a clue what that skill set entails. Their notion of "representative" is more akin to "representin' the 'hood" or being a "good ol boy"; as I said, someone who REFLECTS THEM, as if the job were going to be hanging out in a local sports bar, NOT someone who can represent them in the awesome responsibility of writing and passing new LAWS to govern us all.
