John McCain on Tuesday struck away from the political legacy of President George W. Bush, as he sought to plot an obstacle-strewn course back to the White House for Republicans.

The party's presidential pick also mused on the lessons of his rebellious youth, as he sought to frame his life story as a history of self sacrifice and military service, the culmination of which would be the presidency.

"The point is, I'm not running on the Bush presidency, I'm running on my own service to the country, my own record in the House of Representatives and the United States Senate and my vision for the future," McCain told ABC televisio

I beg to differ, the dems have two winners, while the republicans have a loser.

Not running on the Bush presidency? Well, what exactly is going to change, then? U.S. policy towards Iraq? No. Tax policy? No. Health care, global warming, energy independence? No, no, no. It's clear that the only thing that will change under a McCain presidency is the name on the mailbox at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Everything else will remain the McSame.

The fundamentals of National Security and warfare?

National Security is best achieved by being a participant in supporting the International Security of all Nations, "playing well with others in the sandbox", and Warfare, let's just say that war should always be a last resort, not a tool for political gain, revenge or to plunder another sovereign countries resources. These are not McCain ideologies. IMHO Obama gets it, McCain, the warrior does not.

Nation Security defined by the U.S. government is to protect the property, alleged property of corporations foreign and domestic. This includes no lawsuits against them. Protecting peoples have nothing to do with national security.

All the people who are going to vote for you don't care what you think. They have been trained since birth. Are you going to vote the same way your daddy voted?........yeeeeeees I aaaaaaammmmmm.

What motivates people to make such sweeping generalizations? Everyone who votes for McCain can't think for themselves and let me guess, everyone who votes for Barack is intellectually independent and makes their own decisions irrespective of family, social standing, education etc.

Such stunning naviete would be comical if not such a widely held view. I am constantly amazed at the degree of smug superiority I see on this site, with frankly nothing that is apparent to underpin it. A little humility would go a long, long, long way in making our political discourse less coarse and more humane.

You have to admit that over the last 8 years or so, we haven't seen many great examples of independent thought coming out of the Republican Party. Everyone toes the party line, which is part of the reason the Republicans have been so successful in ruining the country. (Picture lemmings following each other over a cliff.) McCain used to claim "maverick" status . . . meaning he might or might not toe the line . . . but that status is pretty questionable now.

Everyone who votes for McCain is condoning the last 8 years of Bush. It's not a matter of superiority it's a matter of reason and logic.

The reason that we are smugly superior is because we are, relative to trolls like you. You want smug, check out Bush and Cheney when they are on TV, with their snickers and scowls of disdain for the American public and that includes you.

McCain's record shows him to be a complete tool of the Bush presidency with not an independent bone in his body. Even their neurosis are simiilar.

Then we would just have to imprison McCain in 4 years. It's like throwing bad money, after bad money.

If he's running against Obama, McCain can run on the NIXON Presidency and McCain will still win.

That's what happens when the Dems put up a weak candidate. Again.

Is that why your hero Rush keeps telling you to vote for Hillary?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:57 PM on 04/01/2008

Exactly ... Rush Limpbaugh and Laura I'maman are rabidly begging their listeners to vote for Hillary ... she is their ONLY chance. The GOP ain't gonn make it with just McCain. His Keating Days, his promise of 100 more years of War ... the guy is virtually nuts.

Run? The guy can barely walk. He is way over halfway to senility and the brain is nearly toast. He is a mess.

Notice todays headlines ... GOP talk show zombies have been ordered to changce party and vote for Hillary. The GOP NEEDs her .. they've been counting on her to make them a shoe-in.
