Murtha On Hardball

On Hardball Tuesday, Pennsylvania Rep. Jack Murtha, a Hillary Clinton supporter, weighed in on the Democrats and their positions on the war. Murtha said that there was little difference between Clinton and Barack Obama's positions.. Matthews also asked him whether he thought Clinton was really as anti-war as Obama. Watch the exchanges below:

Clinton is praying that Murtha is still alive by the time the convention comes.

Chris Mattews is quite stupid. Very very very stupid.

Hillary Clinton DID NOT SUPPORT A UNILATERAL PRE-EMPTIVE INVASION OF IRAQ.

I know it is a complicated nuanced thing to understand, but JUST LIKE JOHN KERRY, she did NOT think the president would launch the invasion he did.

She has been OUTSPOKEN against the war for YEARS.

No, Chris Matthews cannot "understand" that. Neither can most simpletons. Maybe if he got that tingle up his leg when she spoke???

she voted "yes" . just take a look at what the name of the bill was! and... take a look at her speech she made! she said... (paraphrasing) "it was the most difficult thing she had ever had to do... to vote YES on going to war. the only reason she voted yes was so she would look tough enough to be a legit "commander in chief" candidate (as a woman). you seem to not realize that Hilary doesn't do anything without calculating it to the end. to bad she didn't read the NIE... or at least walk over to Ted and ask why he was voting NO. or... better yet, ask Al Gore. She had the very same data that he had on the war... and he thought it was a stupid war too.

or ask yourself this: once george DID GO TO WAR... why didn't she say "i didn't vote for this! don't go to war, i'm against this war" why? because she was for it.

Anything on Hardball is automatically mindlessly pro Obama. Don't even need to watch. This is much ado about nothing AGAIN.

If HRC and John Kerry - unlike 21 other Democratic Senators, 61% of House Democrats, all the Democrats in my family (8), AND Barack Obama - did not think that GWB would launch an Iraq invasion, then there are only two possibilities:

1) they are very, very, very, VERY stupid, not to mention naive and lacking in common sense and mature judgment,

OR

2) they are pandering phonies who really DID know, but voted in favor anyway for purely politcal reasons (i.e. to appear tough and patriotic to the general public for pre-planned 2004 or 2008 Presidential campaigns).

Pray tell us which, which is worse, and which qualifies HRC to be President.

Not only did she vote to use force to put weapons inspectors into Iraq, she also voted again AGAINST putting limitations on how that "force" was to be defined. Her reason? Essentially what she said at the time was she didn't think congress should be telling the president how to do his job.

She also ignored all the pre-war intelligence, didn't read up on both sides of the issue, and went with the president's recommendations anyway. And she has never fully apologized for it, except to say that she now knows it was a bad idea and she regrets it. That's not an apology, that's an admission that she screwed up.

Hillary Clinton voted AGAINST the Levin Amendent that provided for intrusive inspections, and the US going to the UN, with the requirement that Bush come back to Congress for war authorization if the UN Security Council did not authorize war itself.

Hillary Clinton has NEVER explained that vote, except by deliberately mischaracterizing what that Amendment said.

The notion that Hillary has been outspoken against the war for YEARS is ludicrous. She stood at the YearlyKos convention 18 months ago, and was praised by rightwingers for taking jeers for refusing to denounce the war.

She voted FOR the Bush/Cheney resolution on Iran THIS YEAR. But, understand when she did--at that point it looked as if the nomination were hers, and she was switching---according to her campaign--to "general election mode". John Edwards responded, "how about, tell the truth mode?"

It cannot be considered a 'mispeak" when you do it four times and it is part of your speech. It is and was a bald face lie.

I find it ridiculous to decide Hillary has lost already and therefore she should just leave. Sounds like a political ploy on the part of Obama fans who want us to choose someone without examining him too closely. Mr. Obama, he talk good - but then so do many. I haven't seen accomplishments or hard work on his part. Chosen to head a committee dealing with Afghanistan, he never even called for a meeting. Some Committee head!
I find all the discussion and choice on 'likeability' someone ridiculous. A candidate for Mr and Mrs America is not what is needed. Mrs. Clinton's mis-speaks are exaggerated - but Mr. Obama is given a free pass. Why? Between racism and sexism, we generally feel guilty about racism, but take sexism for granted.
She is a hard worker and gets her chores done. I think she'll be a much better choice.

http://hnn.us/blogs/entries/48434.html That link will give you information about why the attack on Obama's committee is BS. Obama isnt given a free pass at all, he doesn't even need to misspeak to be attack if he even says something remotely off or his surrogate says something he he attacked, or he is attacked and they just change what he says. In terms of what Obama did he accomplished many things in both the State senate and US senate. in US senate three quickies would be anti-nuclear proliferation, Ethic reform, Campaign reform. Check out www.usaspending.gov which was made due to one of the bills Obama help make and pass. Now name something Hillary has done in the US Senate... Good luck finding something worthwhile, i hear she named some things...

You never even called for a spell check. Or a fact check.

Is this the kind of "hard working fighter" you want to vote for? http://digg.com/politics/Hillary_Clinton_Fired_For_Lies_Unethical_Behavior

name one thing she has accomplished. that SHE accomplished. not something that she put her name on after all the political stars were lined up.. or... better yet... NOT one of her little stories she made up about Irish Peace Plan or even the S-CHP program (hatch-kennedy).... and the list goes on and on...

so... go ahead. name something she ... SHE accomplished.

don't forget her Health Care fiasco!
