Following revelations that Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow's husband, Thomas Athans, told police he had paid $150 for sex with a prostitute, the AP reported that police had arrested Alycia Martin, 20, on a charge of prostitution. She was subsequently released on $100 bail.

Frivolous federal prosecution and indiscreet press coverage is the source of trauma for Spitzer's family, not his misdemeanor indiscretions. He obviously went to great length AND EXPENSE to insulate his family. The irony is that if he had had an affair, far more dangerous to his marriage, he would not have had to resign. This is a harmless, victim-less crime, NEVER prosecuted federally, but most posters seem to have NO SENSE OF PROPORTION. If his wife had discovered this herself, they could have handled it privately, saving his family the humiliation. BUT NO! It was leaked ILLEAGALLY BY THE FBI to the NYT; this itself is a federal offense. It should have NEVER been reported, unless the true intent was to destroy a man who was too wealthy, too tough and too honest to be be bought or bullied, and in the process cruelly humiliating and traumatizing his innocent wife and daughters.

The criminal enterprises that Spitzer prosecuted were "Sex Slave" rings engaged in HUMAN TRAFFICKING. SLAVERY!!! (Think "Eastern Promises") They kidnapped naive immigrant women, stole their passports and forced them into prostitution at gunpoint. This is a FAR CRY from purchasing the services of a $1000 an hour CONSENTING ADULT escort. Hiring an escort is LEGAL in all 50 states.

I want you all before to think before you post one more thing about Alycia. She just turned 20 years old and she is A PERSON. With feelings and family who has known her since she was born. She im sure feels extreamly embarassed about this and I dont think people should be talking about such insensitive details concerning what happened to her. Everyone hits points in there life when they lose themselves. When everything becomes unclear and life doesnt seem all that easy anymore.
