Alycia Martin: Alleged Prostitute Connected To Debbie Stabenow's Husband

Following revelations that Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow's husband, Thomas Athans, told police he had paid $150 for sex with a prostitute, the AP reported that police had arrested Alycia Martin, 20, on a charge of prostitution. She was subsequently released on $100 bail.

Frivolous federal prosecution and indiscreet press coverage is the source of trauma for Spitzer's family, not his misdemeanor indiscretions. He obviously went to great length AND EXPENSE to insulate his family. The irony is that if he had had an affair, far more dangerous to his marriage, he would not have had to resign. This is a harmless, victim-less crime, NEVER prosecuted federally, but most posters seem to have NO SENSE OF PROPORTION. If his wife had discovered this herself, they could have handled it privately, saving his family the humiliation. BUT NO! It was leaked ILLEAGALLY BY THE FBI to the NYT; this itself is a federal offense. It should have NEVER been reported, unless the true intent was to destroy a man who was too wealthy, too tough and too honest to be be bought or bullied, and in the process cruelly humiliating and traumatizing his innocent wife and daughters.

The criminal enterprises that Spitzer prosecuted were "Sex Slave" rings engaged in HUMAN TRAFFICKING. SLAVERY!!! (Think "Eastern Promises") They kidnapped naive immigrant women, stole their passports and forced them into prostitution at gunpoint. This is a FAR CRY from purchasing the services of a $1000 an hour CONSENTING ADULT escort. Hiring an escort is LEGAL in all 50 states.

The REAL crime here is selective prosecution.

Our country is being run into the ground by amoral, criminal neocons who have taken over the Failure Party,. Consider the other illegal activities of the Administration & Justice Dept: Mississippi Governor railroading, seizing of documents from Rep's office, US Attorneys firings, Valery Plame outing, Adelphia CEO railroading and this latest with Spitzer seems right in line with their MO. Especially when Spitzer's name was becoming recognized for his political rise with the Democratic Party.

The NeoCons and the Failure Party are rife with right-wing wackos, but don't ever discount there are also some very intelligent, if morally bankrupt, people involved. How they can look their children or parents in the eyes when talking about their career is beyond me, but maybe that's why I'm not a criminal.

What's truly unfortunate is the media has not looked into the 'back-story' of this is just another indication of the problems we face in turning our country around.

After running across a story about an enterprising young man the other day, I think the best way for men to pursue the hooker experience is his way: he hires a porn star and first-person video tapes the 'encounter' for the Internet.

It becomes art and a tax write-off! I've been chuckling about that for two-three days.

I was just re-watching "Moonstruck" and the older woman, whose husband was cheating on her, was asking why men cheat. And someone finally answered, "Because men are are afraid of death."

I want you all before to think before you post one more thing about Alycia. She just turned 20 years old and she is A PERSON. With feelings and family who has known her since she was born. She im sure feels extreamly embarassed about this and I dont think people should be talking about such insensitive details concerning what happened to her. Everyone hits points in there life when they lose themselves. When everything becomes unclear and life doesnt seem all that easy anymore. I dont give a damn who you are you have done something that your not proud of and wish you could take back once in your life. Getting arrested, drugs, getting drunk, sleeping with someone, abortion, infedelity, something. Who are you to judge? Take a look at yourself and then keep you mouth closed. Instead of sitting at your computer judging and making "points" about someone who I care about get off you ass and go spend time with your family. You never know what life will bring to you.
