Long before taking office as chairman of the Federal Reserve, Ben S. Bernanke wrote an article with some other academics calling for the Fed to demystify its actions and pronouncements.

"The 'just trust us' approach may work in a period when the chair and the board of governors command widespread support," he and three colleagues wrote in Foreign Affairs. "But the happy state of affairs will not last forever."

Bernanke met with house republicans only yesterday - I guess he just told the public who he works for. I am sure what is best for the American people an economy did not even enter into it. Maybe they talked about how to blame this on the democrats or how to save the economy (for the rich only) by union busting and eliminating the right to sue corporations - or maybe his discussed how to use fed policy to help republicans get re-elected this fall - Who knows....

what we all must understand is this:
the numbers on wall street do not mean
"america" is doing better -
it means businesses in america are doing better.

what that means is
greater profits
are being made.

if there is a large slave class -
wall street will do fabulous.
"america" will be lost
to republicans.

it's slavery, without the house out back.

capitalism is a dirty word.
unless you're in the top 10%.

aghast and stupified,
i wonder:
how could bush ever have been "elected" president, twice?
(now picture exclamation marks that go off into infinity,
and into a blackhole,
and wormhole back into infinity.
and picture this,
an infinite number of times).

Funny how we can come to the "rescue" of big corporations, but never to actual, you know, people in need. Funny.
