Bill

"The Bill Clinton who met privately with California's superdelegates at last weekend's state convention was a far cry from the congenial former president who afterward publicly urged fellow Democrats to 'chill out' over the race between his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Barack Obama," the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

"It was one of the worst political meetings I have ever attended," one superdelegate said.

According to those at the meeting, Clinton - who flew in from Chicago with bags under his eyes - was classic old Bill at first, charming and making small talk with the 15 or so delegates who gathered in a room behind the convention stage.

But as the group moved together for the perfunctory photo, Rachel Binah, a former Richardson delegate who now supports Hillary Clinton, told Bill how "sorry" she was to have heard former Clinton campaign manager James Carville call Richardson a "Judas" for backing Obama.

It was as if someone pulled the pin from a grenade.

"Five times to my face (Richardson) said that he would never do that," a red-faced, finger-pointing Clinton erupted.

The former president then went on a tirade that ran from the media's unfair treatment of Hillary to questions about the fairness of the votes in state caucuses that voted for Obama. It ended with him asking delegates to imagine what the reaction would be if Obama was trailing by just 1 percent and people were telling him to drop out.

HIllary's shrinking lead is what has the Cintons so out of control and so shrill. She is seeing an electorate say "so what" to her alleged claims of 35 years of experience. (Since the Clinton campaign went back to Obama's kindergarten aspirations, they are shortchanging him on the years of his experience). Her claims of experience are superficial. As a feminist, I am offended that she wan't to be the female affirmative action hire in the White House. Voters are saying, we are willing to accept a little less experience for more character, integrity and a better temperament as our national leader.

I don't think Bill Clinton wanted Hillary to become president in the first place. I really don't. I don't blame him. I DON'T THINK HE WANTS ALL THAT ATTENTION AGAIN. i DON'T THINK HE WANT CHELSEA THERE EITHER. It could be 8 more years in the white house with too many eyes. Go and live Bill. She want win.

I think he does want her to be president because if she loses, she'll come home.

Clinton and wife have lost the little dignity they had left. They want to run the show, but this time WE the people, will make the decisions. After eight years of lies, drama, and dirty tricks, who in the world need another eight with this woman? Please, just make her go away.

Unfortunately, in this particular time in our history, we the people are allowed to choose only from candidates that the "powers-behind-the-scenes" allow us to choose from. Frankly, I'm not that impressed with either Clinton or Obama. There were other high caliber candidates that were shut out by the media (and others) that I found to be much more impressive--and these people were shut out specifically because they were unwilling to bow to corporate masters. We really need to break the corporate yoke that has enslaved us.

I feel sorry for my senator Clinton. I do not see why she needs to lie. It is unnecessary. It is really a shame. I always liked Bill Clinton except when he tried to stretch truth using his legal traning. This time, Bill Clinton is not really helpful to Hillary; she needs someone outside the family relationship.

And that's exactly why his legal credentials were taken away. He told too many lies.

Yes. I agree that what Richardson did is similar to Judas. I would not want a friend like him in a thousand lifetimes. To me it is a matter of principle.

I disagree. Strongly.
It didn't matter if he told him twenty times, this is history, and Richardson was compelled to be a part of it, despite the manner that he went forward with. It is a plain fact that he WANTED to support Hillary, but the fact he went to Obama's corner should truthfully only be looked as the fact that this is simply how special this moment, and this person, Obama is. Special enough that a responsible leader like Richardson would see that he has an opportunity to influence this country in a bigger way that will have big consequences that will really matter. To him, it's what's better for the country, not what's better for his relationship with his old, dear friends.

You think Richardson = Judas as a matter of principle? Spare me! The only principle at work in Carville's tirade is CRONYISM. The logic of this principle is no different than the Bushies. It says that “loyalty” means suspending your own judgment -- your own integrity -- in favor of blind allegiance. This mentality suffers no contradiction, can tolerate no dissention, will listen to no reason. By that logic, Richardson running for president against Hillary was itself an act of disloyalty. Was he a Judas for having the audacity to run in the first place?

Billary’s campaign has been run in a way that goes against everything Richardson stood for in his own presidential campaign. Richardson pushed constantly for civility and unity. She has been consistently caustic and has blindly fomented division among her own party, for her own short-sighted political gain. How, then, could Richardson endorse Clinton? Answer: he could only do so if he valued being a crony of the Clintons above his own principles. Thankfully, he does not.

Washington is no place for loyalty. It's not a fraternity, and they're not there to boost their buddies. Or at least, it shouldn't be, and they shouldn't be. Too often it is and they are, and that's why we are where we are.

Bill's on the rag; Hillary always wore the pants in that family. The man is a raving lunatic--but at least he's funnier than hell. What a clown! What exaggeration! What lies he loves to tell! What a disgrace his is as a human being. Oh that his poor mamma could return and see him now--and maybe take a broom to his behind.

The idea of Bill Clinton calling anyone a LIAR is completely ridiculous. The Clinton's are unquestionably the least trustworthy politicians on the national stage. Is there anything left that Bill & Hillary have not lied about? The man was impeached, was disbarred and lost his license to practice law. The Clinton Legend is a FRAUD resting upon MYTH laying along side a BIG FAT LIE. Has anyone no doubt that perhaps the best thing would be for these two god forsaken political prostitutes to go back to Arkansas in defeat, rejected by the American public? How many more times will Americans allow themselves to be fooled by these people?

So glad you noticed how funny to see Bill get furious about being lied to! I see almost 2800 comments here -- I guess others remembered exactly what it's like to be lied to by Bill Clinton. It's all I could think of when I heard this story. Just ha ha ha.

Funny that you Obamabots don't mind when Bill Clinton rags on Bush but when it's against Obama you chant the same old republican rant for the last 10 years about the Lewinsky scandal. Like you tell the trolls on this site. "Get over it!" Oh and have you all thought about how many riots we will have around the country if Obama wins or loses the general election?..

Funny that you would compare dems who have scruples about what turns out to be a lie,
to the tactics of the repubs.
I'm sure that then and over the years, there were/are just as many dems who were put off
by Bill's lie.

Are you for real?...Face it yo. The Clinton't bullshit just ain't flyin anymore. Maybe you don't remember but those that backed Bill because of the STUPID shit he pulled, had to run for cover.
Everybody raise your hand if you found yourself defending this dickhead to smirking Republican and you KNEW they were right about his character?
So spare us this, "your the same as them" bullshit. WE were the "collateral damage" and suffered right along with your precious Hillary.
Hillary comes off as petulant and unyielding when caught in a lie...sound familiar. Obama has handled every challenge with class, dignity and displayed a level of leadership Hillary could only imagine to posess much less witness from her embarrassing "ex-president" husband.

If you were treated the way they're treated, you'd be pissed off too! They are an incredible, dedicated, intelligent pair who have given their lives for this country, only to have people act like spoiled brats who get in the car with the guy who offers candy. We all have to learn that the Clinton's have been painted by the GOP. Don't fall for that crap!

"given their lives for this country" -- hooooooey! When Bill Clinton was found out in a lie, and he was up for impeachment, he could have recognized what a mess he had made of his presidency and how America might be better served by, say, AL GORE. Al Gore would have been the incumbent in 2000, and barring the Supreme Court, would have been that much closer to being the president from 2000 to 2008 instead of the current illegitimate occupant. Al Gore might have paid attention to a PDB saying "Bin Laden Determined to Strike In US," and Al Gore would certainly not have started this insane tragic war with Iraq... But NOOOOOOO, Bill. F.ing Clinton -- it's all about Bill! -- stayed his monomaniacal course. Hillary and Bill have not given their lives for this country. Quite the opposite. They've done everything possible to keep personal spotlight, personal power, even when it's clearly to the country's detriment. And they lie. I supported impeachment then because I do not want a lying president who thinks he's above the law.

Tell it vision! It baffles me that people don't connect Bill's lack of leadership during his Lewinsky Problem to the 2000 election being close enough for the bushcrimefamily to steal. Great leader my ass, If he would of fessed up to his philandering, stated that it was between him ,his ladies and God (to appease the self- riteous sheep) it's quite likely there would be no president bush! No 911,and certainly no Iraq war. Bill's real legacy is being on the recieving end of the most expensive blowjob in history. And then leaving us to pick up the tab.

Bill the draft dodger has given his life to this country huh??? Thats FUNNY!!! I am not saying that McBush's military service makes his a great candidate for President, but I admire his service... can't say that about Bill... when I watched Bill make a mockery of all of us who supported him over that Lewinsky crap, I was through!!! Then, fast forward to Hillary and sniper-gate! These people LIE without thinking twice!!!

So give me any BULL about what the Repubs have made me believe... I am college educated and can make up my own mind... THE CLINTONS ARE NOT GOOD PEOPLE!

Yes, the Clintons have been painted by the Republicans. But now, they -- not the Republicans -- are making them look bad. They no longer need a vast rightwing conspiracy to paint them as fanatical idealogues, they are doing that singlehandedly all by themselves. Its pretty tragic. They were the best thing about the Democrat party 16 short years ago and now they have turned into the worst of the worst. I will always miss them.

Why does the truth hurt. BO wont survive the republicans. If the dems want another 4 years of Dubya go ahead and nominate BO.

Boy, I sure wouldn't want to be in that Clinton household when Hillary has to bow out. Will she issue divorce papers if Bill doesn't "deliver" for her? After all, he does have some, perhaps a lot, of debt to pay to her
based on his shenanigans over the years. Anyway, Bill, you need to heed your own words and "chill out' before you have another heart attack.

Bill Clinton: "Five times to my face (Richardson) said that he would never do that," i.e. endorse Sen. Obama

Richardson: "I never told anyone, including President Clinton, that I would do so. Those who say I did are misinformed or worse." i.e. endorse Hillary

Oh my, what to do? They both can't be telling the truth. Let me think back a bit. Yes, it's coming to me now: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

I'm with you -- I believe Richardson. But even if he said he wouldn't endorse Obama early on, things (including campaign tactics) change. There is nothing wrong with that. For a man who cheated on his wife -- repeatedly, he is a serial adulterer -- to talk about fidelity and loyalty is a bit laughable.
