But there's a phone ringing in the White House and this time the crisis is economic.

Home foreclosures mounting, markets teetering.

John McCain just said the government shouldn't take any real action on the housing crisis, he'd let the phone keep ringing.

Hillary Clinton has a plan to protect our homes, create jobs.

It's 3 am, time for a president who's ready.

Hillary Clinton: I'm Hillary Clinton and I approve this message.

UPDATE: John McCain has responded with a 3AM ad of his own:

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today released a new ad, entitled "Ready," responding to Senator Clinton's attack ad out today.

Script For "Ready" (:30)

ANNCR: It's 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep.

But there's a phone ringing in the White House and this time the crisis is economic. Home foreclosures mounting, markets teetering.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama just said they'd solve the problem by raising your taxes. More money out of your pocket.

John McCain has a better plan. Grow jobs, grow our economy... not grow Washington.

It's 3 a.m., time for a president who is ready.

She really should go to bed. Has she forgotten so soon how sleep deprivation affects her? I don't think we want a president running around at night taking imaginary calls.

Hillary has already stated publicly that she lies when she is sleep deprived. Should we be bothering her at 3 am if we already know that she is not at her best when she is sleep deprived?

After watching these 3 am ads, my concern is no longer about who answers that phone, but why is the phone ringing at 3 am? Is it not obvious to the Clintons that if the phone rings at 3 am, long after financial institutions and banks in the US are closed, then the economic crisis they are trying to solve is not ours but China's or India's? Does this mean that people in PA value the economies of China and India more than their own? Does this mean that Hillary is the Senator from Punjab after all?

Hillary has a plan. Hillary has a plan. WHAT'S THE F#*#$%CKING PLAN????????? And just because you have one, Congress has a say, remember?????

Agreed, this ad's preposterous....get some sleep. Better yet, keep 'em coming. They get you buried every time.

As someone who is routinely up at 3:00am, I can say with complete certainty that answering a phone requires no special skills at that hour. Now could everyone just go back to bed and leave me alone with my American Justice reruns on A&E?

It's 3AM and the red phone at the White House is ringing.

After three rings, there's a click for an obvious transfer to another number, which starts ringing.

After four rings, a voice says "Wei, Wan Shang Hao" (Translated "Hello, Good Evening")

Caller: "I'm sorry I was trying to reach the President of the United States, I must have a wrong number."

Voice: "No, you've got the right number. This is President Hu, I'll take the call. We acquired the USA last week in a leveraged buyout and we've made some management changes."

I would rather my President deal with the economic problems during business hours. This one is ridiculous.

my favorite part about this exchange was the mccain spokesperson who said that with ads like these any late night phone calls hillary might be getting are to tell her she's lost another super delegate. ouch.

The only reason John McCain would ever be up at 3 in the morning would be to pee.

wow. These adds are very ill advised. The whole 3 A.M. thing has become a bit of a joke at this point no? I seriously thought this link was going ot be a spoof.

I would have to agree that most people think these 3am ads are a joke. Who as an economic crisis at 3am - I just curious what type of crisis this might be because as far as I know at 3 am the Markets are closed, the Banks are closed - what kind of money crisis could happen when everyone is sleeping and everything is closed.

If you know the answer to that one please let me know!

Yes, with this second 3 am ad being put forth by Hillary with apparently no knowledge that the first 3 am ad was met with pundits, cartoonists and comedians delight in how easy the first one was to ridicule, one wonders who, in the Hillary, campaign is so detached from reality as not to be aware of this. (Any chance there is a mole in the inner group giving Hillary advice?)

Look at all the Obama supporters. They are like blood thirsty vampires who can't wait to attack no matter what. She made a commercial that went after John McCain not Obama. Which is exactly what Obama supporters have been wanting her to do. But Obama supporters can't help themselves. They want to attack attack attack attack, no matter what. They'll poke fun of her looks, her clothes, her marriage and any other petty little childish remark pops into there heads. It's pretty sad what some of Obama Supporters have become. I'm sure he'd not be happy with you.

I might agree except for Hillary's de facto endorsement of McCain over her fellow Democrat, Senator Obama. That's just not right.

The thing that seems more off base in the ad than a "3 AM economic emergency phone call" is that if there was an economic emergency, it would have been an emergency which occurred under the watch of the president who is getting the phone call, i.e. Hillary. How could she have let that happen in the 1st place.

Can some one please tell me why Hillary is still dressed, with her jewelry and glasses no less, at 3 AM? Does this woman never sleep? And what might the consequences be were she to be missing her sleep?

When she misses sleep, she fantasises about sniper fire.

All three of the 3AM ads only show a president waking up to a crisis or ongoing problem. Most people want a president who has the foresight and planning skills to anticipate upcoming events so he, or she, already has a plan on file. Bush showed us a constantly reactive president, we want a proactive president. To be proactive the president must have a staff who will argue with him and provide the information needed to meet the challenges that may arise.

I saw this ad and thanks to the Clintons endorsement of Mc Cain he should ask Hillary to be his VP candidate. Looks like they are sharing ads now. At his age McCain will probably be awake at 3AM until he gets his prescription of Flowmax refilled.
