Obama Hardball

Barack Obama was the special guest on the Hardball College Tour with Chris Matthews on Wednesday. When Matthews asked the Democratic frontrunner when the last time was that he heard something so crazy that he just went to bed laughing about it, Obama decided it was time to have a little fun at the Hardball host's expense. Watch the clip:

For all of Chris's lamenting over Obama, this interview was incredibly unremarkable. You would think that given all his favorable support of Obama, they would have had a more congenial or warm exchange, but they did not. Chris almost looked silly and stupid, not like a veteran jounalist. He also asked ridiculous questions that were meaningess to understanding a candidate. I guess we shouldn't expect much from this jerk pundit. And I am a Clinton supporter!!!!

Chris has never been a "journalist". He has been a gossip columnist, an administration cheerleader and a enthusiastic member of whatever mob passes his way. He has never been a seroius, ethical journalist.

Why you Clintonians can't leave well enough alone is beyond me. This was a wonderfully relaxed moment between Chris and Barack and they have total respect for each other. That's a lot more than I can say about Hitlary's interviews. She can't seem to take Obama out of her mouth and relax enough to be genuine. It's sad knowing that she feels so threatened from Obama and there's no telling to what extremes she might go to silence him.

Come on the silencer is Obama--silence for Florida and Michigan.

Like most Obama-files you have consumed more than your daily koolaid quota. Beware that sugary concoction! It has been known to trigger Obama-induced obesity, blindness, brain numbness. Beware the sugary poison. By any resonable measure Clinton is a supremely gifted pol. and a proven winner who might very well be our only hope of recapturing the White House, (ultimately saving us from a terrifying Supreme Court). Beyond the charisma of Obama, a "boutique dem" a-la losers Kerry, Gore, Hart et al lies a smug albeit elegant entitled mama's boy with a paper thin portfolio and thinly veiled hostility to tough, substantive questioning. If you could see, hear, process clearly what's going on all your warning bells would be going off. I don't know about you, but that glib, easy charm in lieu of TRUE history of political courage motivates a huge cross-section of rank and file dems to enter this treacherous fall election with eyes wide open.

SEPARATE RELIGION from POLITICS !!! Are we ever going to progress when we are so hypocritical?
And Reverend Wright said a lot of things which was correct, only no one has the guts to say it.
Time for us to back that preacher and take a good look at ourselves first. Of course, many people
oppose Obama for his view on abortion, like that is a political issue when we have our very way of life
to lose, or simply because he is a bit black, and some silly people who think one should wear the
flag on the forehead!

Don't let the Clintons use Rev Wright like Willie Horton. Let's no go there AGAIN. Rev. Wright is gone, retired, outta there, over finished - IT'S A MUTE POINT. We have all been around people who say stupid stuff, mainly our parents. I say this - if Obama is who he is after listening to Wright for 20 years then I say Rev Wright did something RIGHT. Let's get over this story and not bury one man for something another man says!

I agree, the Clintons are trying to use Rev. Wright like Willie Horton, but I think Obama has reconciled this. In his responds to Chris on this issue, he said that he understood the political game in using Rev. Wright against him. Yet, he is standing firm. He is not kicking Rev. Wright under the bus. It says volumes about his character. So, I also agree with you when you write "if Obama is who he is after listening to Wright for 20 years then . . . Rev Wright did something RIGHT. "

Obama needs to put the Wright issue to bed by explaining what attracted him to Trinity, like the AIDS hospices and good works, the multi-culti congregation, things like that.

Judge by actions, not words.

Not Rev. Wright under the bus since the good Rev. has political value in the long run, but no qualm about his "poor white grandmother who nurtured him before the Rev. became his mentor. "It says volumes about his character" says bison 1.

Great comeback, very funny. But I thought Obama's funniest moment of the week was his I'm-a-regular-guy photo op at a Pennsylvania bowling alley, where he bowled a 37. It's almost impossible for an adult with four functioning limbs to throw a score that low. He took the kidding with his usual good grace, but, Jesus, a 37! That score wouldn't survive the first cut at the Special Olympics.

It should be noted that among U.S. presidents, Nixon was probably the best bowler. He loved bowling (alone, of course) on the alley in the White House basement. This is evidence that perhaps presidential skills are possessed in inverse proportion to bowling skills. If so, they'll have to make room for Obama on Mount Rushmore.

Well, he didn't play a complete game you know. He only bowled a few rounds. I've bowled a whole game and barely made a hundred so that is quite possible for him to do that in only a few frames. Hehehe, you're right, maybe only bad bowlers should run for President. Nobody can be perfect in all things, that's for sure.

it was seven rounds! Think he would improve that score in 3 more?

That makes my day. "Umm, Obama doesn't stand for anything, he's an empty bucket." Get outta here with that. Go watch Bill O'Reilly. People don't know anything about what Obama stands for because they don't want to. They take their news from Rush Limbaugh. It's fine if you are conservative but do some research, read a book, don't just sit on your couch and let some dumb talking head baby feed you his opinion as legitimate fact.

I know this is blashemy but I actually watched Billo instead of Keith--and at least for 15 minutes he was more fair. I could never call him balanced...but Keith isn't anymore, either.

You one of those who never missed KO before his Special comment " You, Mrs. Clinton must rebuke G. Farrar." and the constant Clinton bashing! I've given him up because I no longer respect him, and reading comments on Huffpost there seems to be many of us. Of course he won't care until his ratings go down......which they might because there are millions of Hillary supporters

Hillary tried to be funny with her April Fools joke and she actually looked pissed off while she was delivering it. She needs to lighten up, at the end of the day, she is rich isn't she?

Yeah, she's real rich -- rich enough not to be losing this election. But since they have put restraints on political donations, she can't find a way to smuggle in all that money she has from backers who have gone over their limit of giving cash. That's what her problem is right now, she can't use all that money like she wants to. She's got enough that she could have sold Obama and bought him back if she wanted to. But I doubt if she would have bought him back though :) even though I'm sure she thinks about it!

Calm, cool, reflective, direct, and funny ! If the corporate media doesn't take the election off to some issue like the pledge of allegiance, best person to have a beer with, etc.. then he will win big in Nov.
