Air America Host Randi Rhodes Suspended For Calling Hillary A "Big F*cking Whore"

Air America host Randi Rhodes called both Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton "whores" in a recent appearance, seen below. Rhodes, who hosts a weekday radio show on Air America, said to the cheering crowd, "What a whore Geraldine Ferraro is! She's such a fucking whore!" She then proceeded to say, "Hillary is a big fucking whore, too" to a mixed audience reaction. "You know why she's a big fucking whore? Because her deal is always, 'Read the fine print, asshole!'"

Update: Rhodes has been now been suspended from the network. Air America released the following statement:

Air America has suspended on-air host Randi Rhodes for making inappropriate statements about prominent figures, including Senator Hillary Clinton, at a recent public appearance on behalf of Air America in San Francisco which was sponsored by an Air America affiliate station.

"Air America encourages strong opinions about public affairs but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our Hosts," said chair Charlie Kireker.

I find Geraldine Ferraro's actions despicable and wish Hillary would just go away, but to call them whores is a bit much. Calling someone a whore means you would want to have casual sex with them and um, sorry but neither of those gals qualifies on that front.

His candidacy didn't bring out the worst in those supporters. His primary opponent brought it out, by playing Rove ball. Obama supporters have been astonished at the disingenuous tactics of her campaign, and, as many were Clinton voters, feel a deep sense of personal betrayal. Many feel the Clintons may as well have taken as dump on the traditional values of the Democratic party.

There are more of us than either Party, and we will decide the election after all your in-fighting is over, like we always do. If the polls are to be believed, that means if you nominate Obama you will win, if you nominate Hillary, you will lose! Obama beats Clinton by over two to one with independents, if you choose Clinton I will vote Nader, others will make other choices, but very few want another President with such low approval ratings and such high negatives. Your "Parties" may be able to shut us out of our Democracy in some states in the primaries, but we will have the final say!

The Clintons are very successful Democrats and are from the part of the party unlike yours who knows how to win, and get real results for real people.

The real Democrats believe in change for the good of everyone and recognize that compromise sometimes has to occur in order to get that change.

I agree with JJI. I love Randi to pieces. She and several others on AAR literally saved me from listening to the right wing hate machine. She is brave, informative and a true patriot. However, I think those remarks are not productive at all, or funny really. She will bring herself and AAR unnecessary negatiave publicity. I am very surprised. If she is trying to start a career as a comedian I think this was a serious misstep. Time will tell.
