Here's an interesting peek at some of what was going on behind the scenes in Chicago during the controversy over Jeremiah Wright, the pastor at Obama's Trinity church.

I'm told that top Obama adviser David Axelrod privately tried to help Trinity with its raging public relations problem by asking one of Chicago's top P.R. firms to go in and help the church deal with its P.R. mess.

First of all, HRC is not a Republican; obviously, just one more myth perpetuated by the BO campaign upon his naive, childish following. NO offense but I think the Media is partly responsible for this. I would venture to guess that no one is threatening Paisely or Hagee's church. They (particularly CNN and FOX) keep playing this story Over and over as if Wright is the one running for office something like this was bound to happen. The media is a JOKE.

I've learned a lot about CNN during this time and have lost any good feelings I had for the network. I do see something good though, the public has become de-sensatized by the constant loop. I'm glad it came out now, rather than after he got the nomination.

LOL, I put the blame on Wright. None of his comments were taken out of context. Wright is nothing but a KKK head. He used race (rich white men) to tell a story about why "blacks" are down. Race baiting is always good for money and I'm sure the church will get back to race baiting to raise money as soon as the media isn't looking. I'm sure the church is raising money by selling Wright's sermons.

The funny thing about all this, is that Wright got a little jack ($1.6M) and is going to move into a gated WHITE community. I checked the demographics of the community and it is over 90% white. It is less than 2% black. So Wright doesn't mind living with the white devils.

Wow. The priest was dead on, and the weasel of a reporter kept trying to make a name for himself by twisting his words. I was always skeptical of the press. That skepticism has been validated by reporters like the weasel and Bill O'Rielly, and news organizations like FOX.

Years ago I was at St. Anselm's. I have met Father Pfleger of St. Sabina's and have

attended Trinity Church on several occasions.

The MSM have chosen to not write the truth about Bush's War of Choice so why

should we expect them to print the truth about Dr. Wright and his congregation?

Forty years ago today I was at St. Anselm's when Dr. King was murdered. I know

the huge impact of his death and the desperation felt by everyone.

Do you realize how odd it is for a conservative to read such posts from liberals? Most liberals attack organized religion. They don't get any pass for the good things they've done because (in the limited view of liberals) all of the good things they do are directly tied to their efforts to reach new converts.

And yet, here we have Rev. Wright, the leader of a Christian congregation (an organized religion) and all of the liberals stand up to defend him, citing the good things in his sermons and the good things he has done for the community. Never a mention of how his efforts for good might be motivated by a desire to convert people to Christ.

While many say folks attack him because he's not white, I'm wondering if he's getting a pass from liberals because he's black. Or is it because he's a supporter of a liberal candidate? Or both?

I have consistently posted against the white evangelicals who spew garbage. The fact the Wright is black doesn't change my position. It shouldn't change yours. Given that, I can disagree with him (and with you) without hating anyone...without threatening or wishing harm on anyone. I think their are plenty of reasons to describe why Wright is the way he is, but I choose not to excuse him because of it.

I think some liberals are standing up to defend him and some aren't. The point isn't about excusing him, but it's not going to hurt anyone to try to understand him. We glorify stubborness and bullheadedness and somehow look at openmindedness and an effort to understand and empathize with another's worldview as weak. A society can never advance without promoting empathy and understanding of those who are different than we are. Other countries dislike and even hate America, and sometimes that extends to Americans. We don't like this and we want them to see us differently, yet some of us stubbornly and adamantly refuse to extend that same consideration to others.

Rev. Wright is a good man. Compared to Hagee and Parsley, he's a freaking role model. His greatest flaw appears to have been using a swear word while criticizing America. If they're doing this to him, I hope they never put me on YouTube!

Isn't that what all this about? His little G-D America rant? It can't be his use of the phrase "white man", or his talk about AIDS that more blacks believe than you'd think. So, why should they be calling this guy racist at all? I'm sure someone will be more than happy to tell me, but I'm saying I don't see it.
