Hillary Clinton With Jay Leno On Tonight Show: Enters To "Rocky" Theme, Jokes About Sniper Fire

Hillary Clinton hit the humor trail Thursday night by dropping in on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. Though she didn't attempt to go joke-for-joke with Leno by dishing out one-liners like McCain and Letterman, Clinton did attempt to score with her own brand of funny. Entering to none other than the theme from "Rocky," Clinton quickly jumped into a gag about her recent historical embellishments: "I was so worried I wasn't going to make it. I was pinned down by sniper fire," she quipped before briefly discussing her 'lapse' with regards to her Bosnia memories. Leno, for his part, dropped in a joke about answering the phone at 3 a.m. before the conversation moved on to the election, Bill's temper, and Florida delegates.

Clinton said she was proud of her daughter, Chelsea, 28, who has been campaigning for her. But she said her "stomach is in knots" most days thinking about what she might encounter each day. Chelsea Clinton has fielded some tough questions in recent appearances, particularly about her father's relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Her response has been that it's none of the questioner's business.

Asked about her daughter telling a voter that her mother might make a better president than her father, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton grinned and said: "She is such a smart young woman."

Leno also asked about moments during the campaign in which the former president has blown up at reporters and others.

"When you're supporting someone you love, you really do take it very much to heart," she said. "I said 'OK, honey, that's all right, we don't have to go get excited about it.' He's doing a great job for me but he does get a little carried away sometimes."

I've just glanced through a few comments, but almost all the hate positions are represented so far: those who, of course, hate Hillary, those who hate Obama, those who hate Bush, -- McCain haters must be in here too, haven't gotten that far yet. Wow, is it any wonder there are wars? We all live in this one country where most people -- certainly all of us commenting here, have food, shelter, safety, opportunity, freedom -- all as testified by our mutual access to computers -- and yet see the venting of all this mean-spiritedness and we pretend to be friends of peace.
Yeah, Senator Clinton is lying. Okay. She evidently wants to be president real bad and thought she could fool the gullible people with the sniper claim. Who's that gullible? None of thissays anything very complimentary about her judgement.

2) LIAR: Obama claims he did not know about Wright's America-hating (God damn America) and racist views till it was revealed in the mainstream media in March 2008. Obama attended Wright's church for 20 years, was married by Wright, had his children baptized by Wright, donated over $20,000 to Wright's church and named his book "Audacity of Hope" after one of Wright's sermons. You really believe after 20 years and all this he did not know?

3) ILLUSION: Exelon Corporation had not disclosed radioactive leaks at one of its nuclear plants in Illinois. Obama, a senator for Illinois introduces a bill to make disclosures mandatory. Seems like Exelon doesn't like it. Each draft of the new bill by Obama goes more and more towards Exelon till disclosures end up being "voluntary". What gives? How about $250,000+ donations by Exelon!!! Obama is not change, he is WASHINGTON BUSINESS AS USUAL. (ref NYT)

I think of political campaigns as long drawn out job interviews for the top positions in our government. Clinton has lied several times now in this job interview about her credentials--the most important being (according to her), her experience as First Lady.
