I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Leno And Clinton

Hillary Clinton hit the humor trail Thursday night by dropping in on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. Though she didn't attempt to go joke-for-joke with Leno by dishing out one-liners like McCain and Letterman, Clinton did attempt to score with her own brand of funny. Entering to none other than the theme from "Rocky," Clinton quickly jumped into a gag about her recent historical embellishments: "I was so worried I wasn't going to make it. I was pinned down by sniper fire," she quipped before briefly discussing her 'lapse' with regards to her Bosnia memories. Leno, for his part, dropped in a joke about answering the phone at 3 a.m. before the conversation moved on to the election, Bill's temper, and Florida delegates.

Watch the clip.

More from AP:

Clinton said she was proud of her daughter, Chelsea, 28, who has been campaigning for her. But she said her "stomach is in knots" most days thinking about what she might encounter each day. Chelsea Clinton has fielded some tough questions in recent appearances, particularly about her father's relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Her response has been that it's none of the questioner's business.

Asked about her daughter telling a voter that her mother might make a better president than her father, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton grinned and said: "She is such a smart young woman."

Leno also asked about moments during the campaign in which the former president has blown up at reporters and others.

"When you're supporting someone you love, you really do take it very much to heart," she said. "I said 'OK, honey, that's all right, we don't have to go get excited about it.' He's doing a great job for me but he does get a little carried away sometimes."

The pattern sounds familiar, George Bush always resorts to cheap jokes when he is caught doing or saying something stupid. As if removing some of the pressure will make your reprehensible behaviour go away. They must be using the same manual.
Being under fire is not something you would forget or get confused about if you ever really experienced it. I know it from personal experience. Rather than blaming poor memory, a quality that would hardly make her qualified for the presidency, she should honestly admit that she is simply doing and saying whatever it takes to get the nomination. By doing so she is also unfortunately following some very poor advice and showing again lack of judgment. The list of "bad Judgment" issues after the Iraq war vote in the senate gets longer and longer.

Yes, upon observation it's true that lying is pathological for her. It's all about the power baby! She is a poster child for being Machiavellian. If she steals this nomination I will be forced to give McCain a look see - I don't AGREE with McCain but I have a higher Trust level with him and that's important.

To: "I'm a fan of ohio liberal":
I'm sure you know all politicians lie. Why is it OK for Obama to lie and not for Hillary. What did you expect her to do on national television. Obama has been lying to the public for months now and people still love him for it. I could make a list of his exaggerations but it would take 20 pages. Leave Hillary alone, with all she has to contend with the biased media and TV programs, she is trying her best. So kindly knock it off and give the lady a chance. She has earned this nomination. I can't say the same for the phony Obama, who seems to have everybody in a trance. If Obama gets the nomination, I'm voting for McCain, even though he is a liar too but he is not as dangerous as Obama.
This country will be in trouble if Obama wins, and if you can't figure this one out, than you are in a trance also.

If you're proud of how she had no post-February strategy, blew through $135 million dollars and is now in debt, voted for the war in Iraq and for Kyl-Lieberman, can't remember whether she's ever faced sniper fire or not and won't release any of her papers, earmarks or tax statements, then yeah, you should definitely vote for McCain. The thousands that would die as a result of more war is not nearly important as Hillary Clinton's pride.

Please give an example of an Obama lie.

Don't keep defending Clinton slime behavior with the "all politicians lie" crap.
Gerald Ford didn't lie. Jimmy Carter didn't lie. Ross Perot didn't lie. Obama hasn't lied.

What the hell would you be trusting? If you fall back to the right you're a right winger to begin with. A win by Obama will mean not a lot past a new social orientation. A win by Clinton means some of that and a whole lot of what has been. A win by McCain means more of what you've had for almost eight years and a hole that will only get deeper. Holy crap! I see it now! The right is trying to dig its way to China!

is cheney a fraud? no, he does not try to hide who he is.

but apparently now, if you say someone isn't a fraud, you are praising them. so I am praising cheney. Hahahahaa, love that logic.

I used to believe that Hillary and her handlers were only tone deaf. This is way beyond tone deaf. It borders on sociopathy.

This reminds me of how Bush joked about not finding the weapons of mass destruction.

Had the same thought...Guess if they can laugh at themselves, we are suppose to figure they BUT truly human and give them a pass on their poor decisions and imperfect judgement....(one of the things DO like especially about Obama...he does speak well and speaks to us as if HE thinks WE CAN comprehend adult conversations regarding important issues and that WE CAN handle truths and WE CAN step up and give effort towards achieving the greater common good of all and DO NOT just expect a handout, but likely are seeking a hand up !!!

I was waiting for her to get up and look for WMD's under Leno's desk.

I cannot believe it!!!! This woman is a conscienceless vegetative vassal to be able to joke about a lie in the context of which young men and women put their lives at stake in defense of the indefensible. It is the same fabrication of the truth that send us to Iraq and are now bogged down by a very senseless war. America does not need a Commander-in-Chief who can lie and later jokes about it.

(laughing) "Isn't it funny that I am such liar and still allowed to be a contender for public office?"

Stow it, you lying cow, and go home. No one with any sense wants you and your lies.

Randi was wrong, she should have told the truth, Hilliary is not a whore, Bill is the whore. I think it was Geffen that said how easy the Clinton's lie. Bill is why Hilliary cannot win.

Hillary Clinton's joking about sniper fire was insensitive, inappropriate, not funny, offensive, and further proof of her tone deafness and very serious character flaws which clearly demonstrate she is UNFIT for the office of president of the U.S. This was a scripted line, obviously, which makes you wonder the mind set of her advisors as well. To make light of something which had already offended so many in the military as well, to characterize as a lapse a lie she has been caught on video repeating many times shows us she is unrepentant, a pathological liar, and frankly somewhat unhinged and out of touch with reality. I do not want her answering the phone at the White House at ANY hour.

Everything with them is politically motivated. Of course this line was scripted, poll-tested, focus-grouped and then ok'd for use on the tonight show.

Was her joke as aproprite as say Bush speaking to the press dinner saying he was looking for WMD. The real WMD can be found on the second floor of 1600 Pennsyvania Ave. Obama has shown his sense of humor by casually dismissing Wrighty's remarks.

I think she does a disservice to our men and women who are fighting this war. And anybody who is williing to vote for McCain out of spite is really not thinking with full deck.

McCain sure supports our men and women who are fighting. He will keep them fighting for 100 years. Guaranteed employment. Of course, getting KILLED is a posibility, but what the heck.
