I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Leno And Clinton

Hillary Clinton hit the humor trail Thursday night by dropping in on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. Though she didn't attempt to go joke-for-joke with Leno by dishing out one-liners like McCain and Letterman, Clinton did attempt to score with her own brand of funny. Entering to none other than the theme from "Rocky," Clinton quickly jumped into a gag about her recent historical embellishments: "I was so worried I wasn't going to make it. I was pinned down by sniper fire," she quipped before briefly discussing her 'lapse' with regards to her Bosnia memories. Leno, for his part, dropped in a joke about answering the phone at 3 a.m. before the conversation moved on to the election, Bill's temper, and Florida delegates.

Watch the clip.

More from AP:

Clinton said she was proud of her daughter, Chelsea, 28, who has been campaigning for her. But she said her "stomach is in knots" most days thinking about what she might encounter each day. Chelsea Clinton has fielded some tough questions in recent appearances, particularly about her father's relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Her response has been that it's none of the questioner's business.

Asked about her daughter telling a voter that her mother might make a better president than her father, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton grinned and said: "She is such a smart young woman."

Leno also asked about moments during the campaign in which the former president has blown up at reporters and others.

"When you're supporting someone you love, you really do take it very much to heart," she said. "I said 'OK, honey, that's all right, we don't have to go get excited about it.' He's doing a great job for me but he does get a little carried away sometimes."

This is your mainstream media America. It continues to give a voice to LIARS minimizing transgressions which should essentially DISQUALIFY them from the Presidency. These are not accidental cases of misspeaking but rather Hillary & the Clinton campaign are engaged in an ongoing effort to deceive, defraud and manipulate the American public. Hillary is not only unqualified to be my President, for the despicable and reprehensible campaign that she has waged on and against the better instincts of Americans and appealing to the lowest common denominator Hillary Clinton has illustrated that she is UNFIT to be the Senator from my home state of New York. After she loses the nomination, there are many New Yorkers I know who she will have turned into activists to run her out of the Senate. Sorry but she is a MONSTER that has been built up by naive and ignorant Americans who foster her candidacy and the corrupt politico's and finance people behind her.

Where is the media on Obama's claim about seeing an article in "Life" magazine about a black man who bleached himself in an effort to be white. If being a liar is cause for being unqualified to run for office, can anyone cast the first stone? "Life" magazine says there never was such an article. Its time for Obama and McCain to withdraw from the race.

LOL. this is crazy. This is like another "omg he is lying b/c he didn't tell his staff he snuck a smoke" thing. I suppose it is heartening that the Clinton shills don't have anything legit, and have to stoop to looking for teeny incosistencies and blowing them out of proportion.

Oh and PS, I think it was commonly thought, way back in the day, that Michael Jackson DID try to bleach himself white. I would not be surprised if articles WERE written about it, as it was quite the thing for awhile, testament to his "eccentricity". This was back when he was the "brittney" of the media, but I guess some of you paid shill might be too young for that.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that the sniper fire lie is probably what's currently moving the poll numbers toward Obama in Pennsylvania. It may well be her undoing, because it points out her willingness to say things that aren't true if it serves her purposes to do so.

The ends justify the means for her.

If that is the case, it MUST BE striking a painful chord after seven years of Bush's lies.

This one lie could well be her Waterloo. And it's interesting to note that if it is, no one can pin this "mistake" on Bill. It's all Hillary. And it will follow her for the rest of her political career including any future Presidential races.

Lapse in memory or lying? Neither work well for me for a candidate for the Presidency! We already know ALL TO WELL what a dumb lying President looks like do we need to chose one who admits to it ahead of time?

How arrogant Hillary is ......she knows that she lied and when asked about it......she makes a joke of it. I wonder if all of the soldiers in Iraq that really are dodging sniper fire. would think it so funny ?

Making a light-hearted "joke" of a lie told on several occasions is not at all funny.

Isn't this simply ANOTHER example of Clinton placing her own need to "clean up her own mess" over the seriousness of American dying at war presently?

Who want THIS type of a leader.

Not I!

Yeah, now that she's been caught in the lie, she jokes about it as if to diminish its real importance or meaning. Not buying it, Hillary. Not buying it.

If Hillary Clinton were just another candidate and not the former First Lady, she wouldn't even be a blimp on the presidential radar screen. This courteous respect and deference to her candidacy has worn very thin and has exhausted the collective goodwill that most Democrats at one time held for her.

Most experts give her chances of stealing the nomination at 10% - 12% at best and yet they continue to treat her as a "viable" candidate. Her defiance is frustrating in the face of the obvious. She should do America a huge favor and drop out of this race, otherwise any future in politics will be forever destroyed....Maybe she knows this and continues anyway.

Does anyone beside me feel that she will give US another administration that can't remember sh*t? Just asking..........

If I get to speak with my little brother, who is currently serving, any time soon I'll be sure to tell him the joke and get his opinion on how truly funny it is.

My, wat a precious sense of humor she has. Maybe Clinton and Bush can form a comedy team and go on the road together.
She can warm up the crowd with the "Dodging sniper fire" bit, and he can close the show with his classic "No weapons of mass destruction over here" skit.

Much like Bush, I'm really having a hard time watching her anymore. I get a creepy feeling and have to look away. I keep hearing consultant-speak coming out of her mouth.

She is parsing issues and trying to blunt the damage she has done to her own campaign. Joking about the sniper lie is clearly something she was coached heavily on.

Please, dear God, don't make me listen to another four years of a president who thinks I'm too stupid to see the subtexts.

And while I'm here, let me also say, "I'm worried that Hillary will go all Leiberman on us, once she is in office."

This is what's scary about some of the people now in office and others that are running. Lies to suite their own purposes.....no matter what they are about.

Joking about being a delusinal liar. Nice. This is bad as Bush joking about not being able to find WMD under his desk. So out of touch.

Yea, What IS WRONG WITH THAT WOMAN - She lies and then jokes about it - Is that what she want our children to learn to do - What Chelsea should have done was to say - well for those who are still unhappy about my father's behavior in the 90's with regard to Ms. Lewinsky, I would like to apologize for him in that I am an adult now and understand how badly this affected our country - she could have said something to that effect - yet, she as a supposedly intelligent, well educated person told the voter, who said he was a Clinton supporter , that it was not his business- what an unintelligent and insulting thing to say -

It reminded me of Bush's tasteless search for WMD.A re we supposed to think how wonderful that Hillary can make a joke? Meanwhile we have military personnel actually under sniper fire. How pathetic she is.
