In addition to the wounded Iraq journalists Kimberly Dozier and Bob Woodruff, "The Colbert Report" won a Peabody Award yesterday. In a statement released yesterday, Colbert said, "I proudly accept this award and begrudgingly forgive the Peabody Committee for taking three years to recognize greatness. On a personal note, I'd like to say that I've long been a fan of Mr. Peabody, as well as his boy Sherman."

Last night on his show, Colbert gloated and tried to rub the award in the face of fellow Comedy Central host Jon Stewart.

Umm, the Daily Show won a Peabody award in 2000 and 2005. Congratulations to Colbert though, he is now in the esteemed company of 60 Minutes II (haha).
