Pelosi

The Atlantic:

The effort by Hillary Clinton's bundlers to pressure Speaker Nancy Pelosi into retracting her comments about superdelegates has caused a spurt of Obama-linked donations to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Democrats with direct knowledge of the situation said.

The letter, sent last week, was interpreted as an extortion threat; the 20 signatories seemed to suggest that they would withhold donations from the DCCC if Pelosi did not change her position. --- that superdelegates ought strongly consider the expressed will of voters in their states.

Love Pelosi. She is a Class Act, and is to be commended for her hard work and courage, and creating her own coattails and not playing the Gender/Identity Politics games .... She's gotten a bad rap from the neo-cons who do not like her stand on issues and attack her personally. She and Obama head a Great team and will do Great things to improve our Country.

Good news. But it should also be noted that many of Clinton's supporters did similarly as they were also outraged at the letter. So good job to them as well :).

I thought the Clinton donor's letter was nothing short of blackmail. I immediately made a healthy donation to the DCCC and another donation to Obama.

I loved Bill and Hill and always voted for, donated to, and defended them, including nearly a year of making regular donations to Hillary. But when Bill so blatantly played the race card in SC....And its only gotten worse. My esteem for the Clintons has signficantly declined in the last three months.

Thank you Northlite - you sound like we did at the beginning of this process. As things progressed to (when the mud started flying), we had a drastic change of heart and have felt vindicated particularly with the Tuzla sniper fire mis-statement! Fatigue, sleep deprivation are just not good enough excuses for lying! Thanks again!

Clinton's richy-rich friends just don't get it. It's 25 million bucks whether you get a half million each from 50 people, or $25 each from a million people. The difference is: the second way, you also know you have a million friends. Clinton versus Obama comes down to elitism versus democracy. These are the elements of our society clashing right now. Will 50 people buy the government with their cash, or will a million people claim the right to influence our policies?

This should be a thing of Pride for Obama supporters, we put our money where our mouth/heart is.
Obama is making history every day, not because of him, but because of those who want to see the country change for the better. Love you guys and gals.

amen......

Have you ever seen a Democrat brag so much about how his/her candidate is buying superdelegates and votes?

I tell you.......this year has turned my brain inside out as to what being a Democrat means. We used to find this type of spending obscene.

We used to respect Pocket-Book Democrats.

We used to find people who flagrantly called names to be nothing better than low-life Republicans.

Down is up this year.

If I was a big money roller used to peddling bucks for political influence, I might be crapping my pants right about now. Perhaps this will be the year that the people take back their government. Those who argue that hope is useless don't understand the true audacity of hope. Hope is the belief that things can better. It becomes audacious when we work to make our hope a reality. And that kind of audacious hope can change the world starting right here at home.

And this is progressive?

I just don't get it.

Funny, I thought that's what those Clinton fundraisers were doing when they threatened to withhold future funding unless Pelosi withdrew her assessment on the impact of Super Delegates handing the nomination over to Clinton even if she loses the primary/caucus delegate race. But maybe you have another name for that brand of extortion?

And as long as the DNC continues to reflect the will of the people, not the influence of Big Money and political insiders, more financial support will be forthcoming... and that you can take to the Bank. The American people are awake and ready and able to take back our democracy.

The people? The real people in this election are the pocket-book Democrats who want Hillary.

That's the group Obama can't woo with his money, with all of his nasty supporters, with even his tear-down trash Clinton campaign.

It just isn't working.

Those are the real people, and shame on you all for not seeing that these people are important.

Taken from the full article: "Sources also said that several major Clinton donors, outraged at the letter sent in the name of the campaign, privately offered their assurances to the DCCC that no money would be cut off."

A reckless move by the "fat cat" donors. Hence, the Clinton campaign supported the letter. Another reason why Hillary is losing support among politicans.

"Obama Can't Win." "McCain is ready to Lead". Comments like that proves that Hillary is NOT a team player and will say anything to win.

Personally, I glad the "fat cats" sent Nancy the letter, it clearly rallied the voters and donors.

So middle class voters pulling for Obama no long count as "real people?" I'm guessing that poor Black voters who also favor Obama aren't "real people" either. Well Ann, every day who hit a new low in yoru rhetoric. Now you're asserting that anyone who votes for Obama shouldn't count because we're not "real people." Well you could be on to something; the Clinton camp has tried every argument to discount their losses, maybe they will try this one next.

Contributions from all donors, by %:

$200 or less $2300+ $4600

Obama, Barack 40% 32% 6%
McCain, John 24% 46% 11%
Clinton, Hillary 23% 51% 24%

Hillary has less small donors and more large donors than the other candidates. Only 23% of her donors gave $200 or less, while 40% of Obama's gave $200 or less.

So the only important people are the ones that vote for Hillary? The majority that voted for Obama doesn't count? The well over a million donors to his campaign don't count?

And what has Obama done to tear-down or trash Clinton? She's the one saying McCain is better than a fellow democrat. She's the one who's attacking fellow democrats like Richardson. She's the one yelling "shame on you" - is the supposed to be a compliment?

You got that right!!! The day the Democrats have the sense to nominate Barack Obama my contributions to the DCCC become as regular as my current contributions to Obama. The American people will sacrifice and give to take their country back. We will not be denied.

oooooooooooohhhh, the power of the people. Every world government is taking notes on this election. This is a gold mine of social constructs and political processes. Explaining this mess and the preceding 8 years will turn out a lot of master degrees and doctorates.
