New York Times:

Americans are more dissatisfied with the country's direction than at any time since the New York Times/CBS News poll began asking about the subject in the early 1990s, according to the latest poll.

In the poll, 81 percent of respondents said they believed that "things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track," up from 69 percent a year ago and 35 percent in early 2003.

Worst ever? I couldn't be because we have unconstitutional criminals in the White House and a Congress too feckless, venal and STUPID to remove them, could it?

AMERICA WILL NEVER BE ON THE RIGHT TRACK AS LONG AS BUSH AND CHENEY WALK FREE.

It is that simple. Accept it, deal with it and DO IT as soon as the next President is sworn in. Any more delays is merely asking for US, We the People of the United States, to remove them and YOU by any means necessary.

Letting someone have a pass because they lied under oath about sleeping with the health is FAR different than letting someone have a walk after MULTIPLE violations of the Constitution, fraud, subversion of our military from legitimate goals after 9/11 to feed their own corporate greed (in the process destroying our international credibility and ANY moral authority we as a nation once had). You let Bush and Cheney go unpunished and THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES FOR YOU CONGRESS. Count on it. Ignoring the WILL OF THE PEOPLE is how the first Revolution started. Don't let it be the start of the second. IF YOU DO, THE BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS, CONGRESS.

You have the power to put these arch-criminals UNDER THE JAIL for what they've done. USE IT OR LOOSE IT.

How dare anyone propose that Bush should face a consequence for his reckless immoral behavior? Its not like he is some black kid that smoked a little pot. He's a rich white member of one of America's elite families. Those kind of great Americans never go to jail, right Tex? That's not the kind of justice we have in this ' great ' country

Mr. Bush was critical of Al Gore in the 2000 campaign for being part of “the administration that’s been in charge” while the “price of gasoline has gone steadily upward.” In December 1999, in the first Republican primary debate, Mr. Bush said President Clinton “must jawbone OPEC members to lower prices.”

As gas topped a record level of $50 a barrel this week [Sept. 28, 2004], Mr. Bush has shown no propensity to personally pressure, or “jawbone,” Mideast oil producers to increase output.

Howard Beale: 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!' I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it:
Howard Beale: [screaming at the top of his lungs] "I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

Imagine if our ire rose to this level.

Some of us are so angry that Howard would look at us and say nothing because he would be dumbfounded at our collective fury. Long live Howard Beale!

TO QUOTE OUR FEARLESS CO-LEADER, "SO?" All that means is that only 32% need to vote against their own interests plus the 19% who DO think the country is going in the right direction = Bush II = a McCain Presidency.

The picture of Bush with this column. The "smirky smile" along with the evil he's brought. Its sickening, but seems more. Its like looking at the face of an Earth Based Satan. Pleased at what destruction he's brought. "I'll show you daddy, and all those people that laughed at me..I'll show you...how powerful I am..I'm bringing down the greatest country on Earth..so there"....This all is almost Biblical...and maybe it all is.

Oh please. You sound like my mother...blaming Satan for everything Bush has done.

This is the reality - he's a man...an evil man...but just a man. His grandfather was a horrible man who tried to take down our government in the 30s, 40s, and part of the 50s. His father is a terrible man who tried to steer the government in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and part of the 90s. And George Bush is a despicable coward, a terror enabler, a war starter, a poverty maker, and a liar and a cheat.

They are evil - every last one of them - but they're all just men. The rule of law has ways to deal with men like that. Why have we not enacted them? Do they own the law?

His Grandfather also bankrolled Adolf Hitler....with our money. See how Bush reacted to Katrina? Condi even went shoe shopping.

There is a real leadership problem in this country. We have a deadbeat president, a war in Iraq that is literally breaking us economically, brave individuals known as whistleblowers who will speak up so that the public can fly safely and thus far no one fired at the FAA, our Federal Reserve bailing out the wealthy investment banks at the expense of the taxpayers, politicians sitting on the fence waiting to see which way the wind blows before endorsing a nominee, gasoline and food prices rising daily......

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:09 AM on 04/04/2008

Leadership problem...true, but I think it's a symptom of the larger ideology problem. The majority has been through a major trauma [9/11], and our leaders took that opportunity to push through a morally and fiscally bankrupt agenda based on a profoundly twisted ideology. BushCo is the fruition of a group of GOP/Neoconservative ideologues that can be traced back to Richard Nixon. From that point forward, the nation has been slowly slipping down this slope, all the while being fed a pop version of this nonsense couched in terms of supply-side economics, unilateral access to global markets, and empire-building efforts disguised as humanitarian missions.

All of that aside, the most troubling aspect is that we bought it lock, stock and barrel.

Maybe enough economic pain will aid us in righting our ship, but who wants to suffer? But if we fail to act decisively, the criminals who have steered us to this place will continue to stay in government and bide their time until the next opportunity arises.

We need to shift our national political ideology as far to the left as possible, and weed out the NeoCons. If we can reinstate market regulations that work, reign in our global trade efforts, and at least beat down the factions in our government that are bent on global domination and empire building through military base expansion--then we might have a chance to keep the whole thing from collapsing into a state of feudalism.

Maybe Bush can move to Australia - I see their head cheese is in a bit of trouble with his own people for saluting Bush...a good old-boy, ain't we wonderful kind of thing I guess. The Australians know better.

I am anticipating watching Bush go out the door with the same glee as I awaited Christmas morning when I was ten years old. And he'll have his tail between his legs. He should be going directly to prison with the sociopath Cheney.

Here's a bit of good news. Yet more huge Bush supporters in Ohio got slapped with $5.2 million in fines for funneling money illegally to Republicans' campaign coffers.

David Brennan of White Hat Management, which operates charter schools, and Virginia-based All Children Matter PAC, each got fined $2.6 million, All Children Matter is not registered to donate political campaign funds in Ohio.

Unfortunately, we are still stuck with Bush until November in spite of all of the laws that were broken to put him in the White House in 2000 and to keep him there in 2004.

A letter in our local newspaper today says Americans voted for change in November 2006 and things only got worse - not better. He blamed the Democratic majority in Congress.

How can it possibly be the fault of Congress when we still have the same idiot in the White House continuing to use signing statements - over ONE THOUSAND according to some sources - to change what Congress puts into law? Even Grover Norquist said that when that happens we have a kingdom, not a democracy.

Hey ease up on FOXNEWS already!

I watch them every morning. Did you know they are "The official morning show of the 2008 election"?

The leading candidate for the Democratic nomination won't appear on Fox but Gretchen Carlson assures me it's just scheduling conflicts. Obama won't schedule an appearance so that creates a conflict.

And can you believe they refused to let Alyson Camerota board her American Airlines flight the other day? They said she wasn't dressed in an appropriate manner. The nerve! She even missed the Upskirt Convention! There were alot of us who were very disappointed.

I took off work and everything.

Obama is in good company; Algore will not appear either.

One quality that they both share - the lack of backbone to face direct questions.

Have to hand it to Hillary on that count; she displays more & more tenacity daily while Obama appears softer & softer.
