Then, we could shed some tears for the thousands of the critically wounded, whose lives have been shattered. Then tell us what Obama is going to do about any of this.

Huffpo: I am about sick of Oprah's dead dog. I'm over it, you get over it, and she can get over it. Take down her photo. I'm tired of looking at it.

Of all the tragedies she has reported or explored on her show, the only thing she cries over is her dog's death.

Women love pets because they can control them. Put some effort into a relationship with a person. You've got to let go of control but it's worth it. Then we'll honor the tears. But this stuff with the pets, this is just practice, and it gets no honor.

How many tears has she shed for our brave men and women in IRAQ on air?? When do THEY get a tribute show?

Just tell us when that hankie/napkin/Kleenex is on e-bay. I need to make a bid.

It is sad to see so much negativity on the blogs these days. Granted, we live in a challenging time, where cynicism is thriving, but can't we also be touched and cry for another's loss? Have we lost our ability to relate to each other, even on the most basic level? We comfort friends and family during loss, but why can't we respect loss when it also affects people that we do not know personally.
I applaud anyone who has the courage to expose abuse/inhumane treatment, (whether it be animal or human). We all have a responsibilty to be "mindful" when relating to others. Thanks to Oprah, millions of us have been affected by one little orange book, "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle.
Just by reading some of these posts, I am convinced that most people are still kind and good-natured.

Oh she cathects dogs. She is so pathetic. I can't bear to watch her. She sheds more tears for a dog than she does for human suffering. She has barely spoken out about this illegal and horrific war in Iraq. There is something wrong with that woman, she is truly damaged.

I prefer humans over animals, but my heart goes out to Oprah. She's done a lot of good in this country and abroad.

Ok, Oprah shows she has a way to grab a story and publicity... It's a dog, get over it. That school business was even worse... She should be begging for more regulation for schools and all the children who have been killed in schools here in this country... What about those parents and their heart break and the random killings in this country..
