GOP Strategist: Condoleezza Rice Campaigning For VP Slot

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has exhibited interest in becoming John McCain's vice presidential running mate, a Republican strategist says.

Dan Senor revealed during Sunday's edition of ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" that Rice has been seeking support to be considered for the No. 2 spot on the Republican ticket this fall.

"Condi Rice has been actively, actually in recent weeks, campaigning for this," Senor said.

I believe she is. Just another liar, along with the Clintons, trying to run this country. She has nothing at all to offer this country but her bobblle headed, obfuscation, spin and lies. She has accomplished NOTHING at all in her tenure as Sec'y of State and a Nati'l Security Advosior, she was a total and com,plete failutre. What she has accomplished is an ability to spin, to use language as a spin, to work around a sentence as to m,ake it spin and appear as if she knows what she is talking about.

This is the most absurd innuendo I have seen yet! The attempt to tie Rice with Senator Clinton goes way beyond the pale. The Clintons were part of a successful presidency. Rice is part of the failed Bush regime. Hillary Clinton is educated and intelligent. Condi Rice is educated and stupid.

I hope he does pick someone like Condoleezza and remind voters that a vote for McCain is a vote for 4 more years of Bush policies. He'd be stupid to think blacks would vote for Condoleezza over Obama. Condoleezza is Republican, just about the worst you can be in politics (in the eyes of most in the black community). Too, Condoleezza is too close to Bush. Maybe neocons would be happy to see her as VP. If McCain really wants to help himself with the black community, he should choose Colin Powell (who probably wouldn't accept and I'd never forgive him if he did).

I think it unlikely. The running mate for John McCain is not simply a campaign prop - given his physical and mental health, his VP would almost certainly become president at some point.

This might make some folks angry but its the sad ass truth.....­....It would be nice to think all black people were smarter than that, but if Obama is the nominee his percentage of the black vote will fall to 62-78% with Rice as a VP choice. The majority of black defectors would be black women getting caught in the emotion of seeing Rice run and bitter because Hillary lost. Rice as the Republican VP choice would only work if Hillary is the Dem nominee. Blacks that would have sat home in protest might actually vote Republican and widen Hillary's losing margin in the general.
