Clinton Coronation

MSNBC News:

At a town hall in Eugene, OR yesterday, Hillary Clinton was asked by man in audience who is supporting Obama whether her attacks on Obama were hurting the Democratic Party....

Clinton concluded, "Elections are about choices, and you are supposed to present your case and you're supposed to critique the other case. That is what you do in an election. It is not a coronation. It is a contest. This country is worth fighting for, and I am going to fight for it. I'd rather you be involved and not for me than to be apathetic and not involved."

Well, this should be the more obvious public statement Hillary has ever made (in politics speak, of course) that she doesn't think that Obama is fit to be a president.

What exactly has she ever done to make her more fit? I guess lying counts, but what else?

Hillary Clinton: "It Is Not A Coronation"

Get the hell outta here??? I could've sworn that was Hillary The Queen Clinton who told Katie Couric, "I WILL be the nominee."

Sounds like a coronation to me?

Only one problem, Hill: The American people still have a say so.

Everyone says they will be the nominee when running. Are you new to politics? Obama says it too. Everyone that has ever run says this until they are out. You are really putting Obama on a pedestal that he can't live up to. When he's knocked down from it I hope you are forgiving of him.

Madame "Inevitability" has the AUDACITY to lie to our faces REPEATEDLY and unabashedly , use republican talking points and strategies, vilify her democratic opponent as she praises her repug opponent and she expects us to take her seriously? When will she wake up to reality and COME TO TERMS WITH THE FACT THAT SHE HAS LOST LOST LOST LOST LOST!!!!!!

MEMO TO CLINTON CAMP: We the people disqualify your run for the presidency due to a lack of moral fortitude, honesty, transparency, integrity, dedication to the people and not knowing what the HELL YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT (YOU, the "EXPERT" on healthcare reform should have known the hospital would have NEVER turned away a pregnant woman due to a lack of insurance, it's against the LAW and they WOULD NOT RISK BEING SUED FOR MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS. Your sham of a campaign is filled with lies and innuendo at every turn.

PS......you have every right just as Huckabee did to continue in this race, but JUST LIKE Huckabee your gas as run out and will not and cannot be filled.

I think all these nitpicking soundbites are causing a lot of the lack of civility on this site. I never used to be so snide and bickery about politics. (At least I hope I didn't.) But when you post things like this constantly. Or soundbites about Obama's pastor or soundbites about Obama said he was a professor but he was only a senior lecturer.... And the news media spends hours on it. Of course, the average person is going to feel compelled to defend the person they are supporting. Even if the issue at hand is the silliest tripe.

What happened to real news. The problem is that they are so similar on issues. The real differences are in character. And unfortunately, Sen. Clinton's character is not looking so stellar after all these... imaginative spins on the truth.

cog1000, with all due respect; two candidates are in a seriously contested battle for the most important presidential election in years.

The "news" is this: Hillary Clinton, who assumed that she would simply ascend to the Oval Office, is losing votes and delegates; and she's losing self-respect and the regard of voters through her lies and misstatements and mismanaged campaign.

Hillary is desperately trying to regain credibility, and every day brings another outrageous statement by her or her husband or Penn. She is making news, and it's not good news -- for her.

So yes every little slip up is now scrutinized; there have been so many Clinton lies, it would be absurd to believe her any more. Real news is pushed back, because many people are just watching in horror to see how long she CAN lie and stay in the race.

Well said! It's getting ridiculous on this site. It's like a the National Enquirer on here. Ooooo Clinton said she was going to wear a read suit today and that b*tch wore a blue one. She is such a liar. I wonder what the profile of all these clinton haters is? I am happy with both candidates for the record. I just detest this Hillary hating that is really based on spin. MSNC and progressive talk radio is leading the charge.

Freudian slip. She certainly seemed to expect a coronation herself until Obama had the audacity to start beating her.

"Elections are about choices, and you are supposed to present your case and you're supposed to critique the other case. That is what you do in an election. It is not a coronation. It is a contest."

Well, yes, it's a contest NOW, since Barack Obama and his thousands of supporter have made it one.

The Clinton Campaign, the former president, and some of the Democratic leadership apparently assumed that August 2008 would be a Clinton coronation -- until Hillary lost several primaries in a row, and her campaign fell apart with her kitchen sink strategy.

So, yes the voters do have a choice and it couldn't be a more clear choice.
