Reuters:

There is more than a 50 percent chance the United States could go into recession, former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan told El Pais newspaper in an interview published on Sunday.

Greenspan, the U.S. Fed chairman from 1987 to 2006, endorsed the Republican presidential candidate John McCain in the interview.

"I'm Republican and I support John McCain, who I know very well and who I respect a lot," he said.

The person chiefly responsible for our current economic woes has just endorsed the candidate who admits to not knowing about the economy!! Wow - talk about a significant potential for disaster!

Can you say 'President Obama'?

Yes we can but it will not happen. So get ready for another disappointment. the democratic party has been destroy with the state of Florida. Michigan not so much, But Florida is control by Cubans in that state, that why they keep the Republican party in office. Corruption is at its highest level. Thanks to the internet the world see our true colors.
I don't know how long we will have access to the internet, but it won't be long. The more they test just how dumb American have become in the world and we are not ashame, something is very wrong with this picture. The youtube group will need to flip more burgers in order to afford the text world and youtube pay as you go service soon to do business for profits.

Makes perfect sense to me. McCain admit that he knows absolutely nothing about the economy, but that he'd read Greenspan's book to learn about it. So not only is McCain going to see things exactly like Greenspan himself (being his only source for economic theory), but as a bonus, he plugged Greenspan's book for him.

I'd endorse McCain myself if I heard he was going to base his policies entirely on comments I make in blogs like this. :)

The only thing McCain will pick up from Sir Alan's book is some catchy "fedspeak" phrases. He won't know what they mean, though, but they will sound erudite.

So can this be the official end of the myth of Greenspan as financial genius who saved the US economy? He did a passable job in that Fed Reserve post, but if he now endorses a candidate who promises to speed up the policies which have been pulling America down the drain its obvious we survive despite rather than because of any leadership on his part. If he really understood how bad our economy was under the policies McCain wants to continue he'd stay out of endorsing, if not speak up for Obama or Clinton.

Sure is ............................................ LOL

You do know Greenspan helped kill our economy don't you?

He may have been a good "Keeper of the Money" before Bush came to the White House

but once Bush arrived Greenspan suddenly changed his mind. He originally had spoken

out against Bush's Economic Plan. Why did he change his mind? Many wonder.

Some even speculate that Bush blackmailed Greenspan.

Could be. All we know is that during the Bush Administration Greenspan followed Bush's

wishes and left us with a mess.

Wow, that's going to go a long way towards helping McCain. The man who is partly responsible for our current recession endorses the man who knows nothing about the economy.

Yeah, I really can't see how she can be allowed to cover the presidential campaign. She really needs to stick to other news until after the General Election. SERIOUS conflict of interest.
