David Vitter Car Crash: Watch The Video

Sen. David Vitter has been having a rough week, and it's only Monday. First, he was listed as a potential witness in the trial of former D.C. Madam Deborah Palfrey. Then, he attempted to scoot out of a town hall forum to avoid questions from the press about his alleged relationship with Palfrey's escorts. The Gonzales Weekly Citizen reports:

A car carrying U.S. Sen. David Vitter ran into a No Parking sign in the Gonzales Police Department parking lot Monday morning as the senator was attempting to evade members of the media, including the Gonzales Weekly Citizen, following a Town Hall forum event at Gonzales City Hall.

No one was injured in the incident, but the car - in which Vitter was a passenger - sped away from the scene with visible, but light damage following the wreck.

I'd have thought Vitter would have resigned by now consdering the way all his fellow neo-cons reacted when Spitzer was caught doing the VERY SAME THING!

Just another example of how the rules don't seem to apply to republicans!

I think you'll discover that Spitzer is/was a Democrat. Perhaps he decided to become a Republican after his outing, don't know, don't care. At least Spitzer resigned, unlike Vitter.

You can't make this stuff up - how is this slimeball still in the U.S. Senate, when Spitzer had
to resign. Oh, I forgot only Democrats have to resign. Larry Craig is still keeping his seat warm
in the U.S. Senate, along with Vitter. One can only imagine how many more Republicans have
yet to be caught, but they don't have to worry - because like I said, only the Democrats are forced
to resign.

Agree with you - my own theory is that Mitch McConnell can't really put any pressure on Craig because Old Mitch is also a member of the "toe-tapping club". You will notice that Mitch has said very little about Cousin Larry since the Minneapolis incident.

By the way, Vitter was driving a Honda - I'll bet the big honking SUV was back in the garage at home so he could appear to care about gas prices - not that they care as long as they're high - which is the case for both Senators from Louisiana. I wonder if Dave had a "I support the troops" bumper sticker on the Honda or just the SUV?

What I think is appalling is that a sitting Congressmember driving a non-UAW made, foreign branded car. He should be driving a USA made Ford, GM or Chrysler brand car, made in a UAW plant - support America and well paid American workers not poorly paid, non-union ones.
Still, he obiously didn't want to talk about his sexual problems and was more concerned with that than proper and safe driving. What a fool.
