we'll all miss Dr. Kroger's gentle wisdom and humor, but i'm sure not near as much as his "family" on Monk. Condolences to the cast and crew, and to Stanley Kamel's friends and family.

wouldn't it be great if the show did a compilation of Kroger moments? :-)

Alan Arbus is 90 years old - he may not be the best choice for a replacement.

He was such a great talent. Like many posters have said, Mr. Kamel was such a wonderfully versatile actor and he just captivate you on whenever he was on screen. I am sad to hear of his passing. I enjoy longtime character actors who are about the craft and not stardom and he was one of the best. My condolensces to his family and friends who will miss him.

How sad! He was such a warm character, I will really miss him. The cast of Monk will have a difficult time with this.

May he rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear about his passing. He was a very integral part of the show, as the pschiatrist for the quirky Monk. He will be missed.

That would be Alan Arbus, who coincidentally played psychiatrist
Maj Sydney Freedman on M.A.S.H., bears a strong resemblance
to Stanley Kamel. RIP, Doc.
