Clinton Becomes A Gun Lover

CNN reported Saturday that Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton touted her experience with guns and hunting to a crowd in Indiana:

Hillary Clinton appealed to Second Amendment supporters on Saturday by hinting that she has some experience of her own pulling triggers.

"I disagree with Sen. Obama's assertion that people in our country cling to guns and have certain attitudes about trade and immigration simply out of frustration," she began, referring to the Obama comments on small-town Americans that set off a political tumult on Friday.

She then introduced a fond memory from her youth.

"You know, my dad took me out behind the cottage that my grandfather built on a little lake called Lake Winola outside of Scranton and taught be how to shoot when I was a little girl," she said.

"You know, some people now continue to teach their children and their grandchildren. It's part of culture. It's part of a way of life. People enjoy hunting and shooting because it's an important part of who they are. Not because they are bitter."

Clinton said she has hunted ducks.

ABC News later reported that Clinton also visited a restaurant in Crown Point, Indiana to share a shot of whiskey with the locals:

Clinton stood by the bar and took a shot of Crown Royal whiskey. She took one sip of the shot, then another small sip, then a few seconds later threw her head back and finished off the whole thing.

Clinton later sat down at a table and enjoyed some pizza and beer, and called over Mayor Tom McDermott of Hammond, Ind., to come join the table.

"Every time I get around you we start drinking, senator," the mayor exclaimed.

Clinton nodded and raised her glass.

"It's Saturday night, though, Tom," she said.

Hillary knows just how bitter most Americans feel.

Rather than echo these truths, Hillary chose to attack Obama, calling him “an elitist,” “out of touch,” and “demeaning.”

She wrapped herself in the American flag, spewing homilies about God, guns and the “American Dream.”

Doing everything short of donning a pair of overalls and chomping on a toothpick, Hillary tried to portray herself as a small town, rural gal, who would be happiest huntin’, fishin’, and hanging out at the VFW post.

That Hillary exists only in her vivid imagination.

Fortunately, this is no secret. The people of small-town Pennsylvania are too smart to be fooled by Hillary.

They know when an elitist is out of touch and demeaning.

They know it every time she opens up her mouth.

The last time she held one was probably in 1998.

In light of her behavior and Obama's remarks, this is kind of amusing:

American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA) Endorse Obama for President

It's not the NRA (a long way from it) but still.

I voted for her in the primary, but I have to say, she has shown she has no shame and will say and do anything for a vote. Her tactics are no better than that sleaze McCain who sold (what little he has left) his soul for the republican nomination.

Both salubrious and lugubrious concurrently.

Doesn't Clinton sound awfully... "Republican" in that quote? Who exactly is she pandering to? I recall Romney sucked-up shamelessly, and ineffectively, to the rural gun nut constituency. Pollsters claim Clinton's primary demographic group is older lower-class undereducated non-Republicans. That's like describing furry salmon-eating Alaskan non-bears.

Hillary is old enough to BE Annie Oakley.

I can only assume from that ,that Obama needs his diaper changed !

At least this time nobody can come up with a video to debunk her fantasy. Wait maybe somebody should check if her dad Hugh E. Rodham ever even owned a gun. He was a Chief Petty Officer in WW2 so maybe their a chance her story actually check out.

Well, it's a good thing that Hillary isn't campaigning for President in the Guangxi Province in Mainland China where she'd have to eat live Monkey brains to prove that she were a true kindred spirit.

One wonders just how far she would go to win the Presidential Primary. I myself believe that she would do whatever it takes. Many argue that this is a great quality and that she will bring this tenacious, never-say-die attitude into the Whitehouse.

Well, that's an interesting argument except for one damn thing. After seven years in the Senate she has barely done anything. And where was her husband? Well, he was out making $250,000 speeches never once speaking out aginst the crimes of the Bush Administration.

Why should we the people believe that after they get back into the Whitehouse, they will do all of the things that they haven't done since they left the Whitehouse?

What evidence is there that they're not saying all of these things just to win a Primary?

I'll close with a rhetorical question. If Hillary does not win, where do you think Bill will be? Do you think he will be campaigning with Barack, helping him win one of the most important elections in American history? Or do you think he'll be right back on the $250,000 speech trail?

Hillary, like most puke-a-titions is a liar...period. The trick is figuring out which one is a TRUE-American. Is the Obamination a true-American? I think not!

Why do I say this? Because...a true American will wear the flag on his chest! He will cover his heart during MY National Anthem! He will take the pledge! He would denounce the rantings of an anti-American racist! He would drop the title "AFRICAN"-American; as there is, and should be no such thing. He is either American or he is not! AFRICAN is a NATIONALITY NOT A COLOR!

Puke-a-titions lie every day of their lives...that is how they convinvce the dummied-down and ignorant of their beliefs.

As far as your rhetorical question...who cares what the liar does? They all believe Americans are sheeple and will follow them where ever they go...I assume this means you too.

Hillary, McCain, and the Obamination to America are not the best options for this country...they are the only ones we are given.

Brought to you by Crown Royal. Always delightful - especially with a beer chaser.

Again I want to know, what if anything has her mother taught her???
04:34 PM on 04/15/2008
apparently nothing - seems she was raised by only men
11:31 AM on 04/16/2008
Are you guys serious, if you took the time to learn about all the candidates before formulating your opinion you would know that she constantly talks about the influence of her mother. For crying out loud her mother was on the campaign trail with her at times, she writes about her mother in her autobiography and on her website. And even if she would have been raised by only men...is that really a problem, should it sway your vote? Vote the issues.
- HILLARY in 2008!

In the rare event that no presidential candidate receives a majority of the electoral votes, then the President is chosen instead by the House of Representatives, from the top three presidential vote-getters in the Electoral College; each state delegation in Congress casts one vote.

Democrats are on target to screw up, in order, to keep Clinton quiet, let's let Hillary run in OH, NY, NJ, FL, MI, and in PA, if she wins in PA. Let Obama run everywhere else. And let's throw this thing into the House.
Where she can make the ultimate SuperDelegate argument.
