Nancy Pelosi: President Clinton Had A "Late-Night Adult Moment"

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was asked about former President Bill Clinton's error-riddled defense of his wife, regarding her Hemingway-esque accounting of her 1996 trip to Bosnia.

"I can't for the life of me figure out why the president would have said it except he may have been having a late night adult moment," Pelosi told CBS's Bob Schieffer, "but let's leave it at that."

Everybody's angry at Pelosi for using the phrase "late night adult moment" but nobody ventures to explain what the heck it means. Did she garble an otherwise intelligible aphorism? Was she implying that Clinton was getting a bit fuzzy-headed in his old age? Was she implying by 'late night adult' that he was screwing with us? Was she saying that all adults are usually exhausted and incapable of forming a coherent thought after putting the kids to bed?

And why should we be angry at Pelosi for being bewildered by Bill Clinton's admittedly odd campaign behavior? Most people here seem to be angry just for the sake of being angry.

Speaker Pelosi is a failure. She has failed to project Congressional power into the mix with the bulldogs in the Bush organized crime family. It appears she does not have the courage to do what must be done to save the constitutional role of the Congress and the rule of law. There must be a fight wtih the executive in order to hold our country together but...Pelosi is not the one to mix it up with the administration. She has betrayed the American people. On an unrelated note, why doesn't Bill use Grecian Formula? Even when he was President, his hair color would vary from white to brownish to even yellow-brown on any given day.

The difference in the politics of the Clintons and of Obama is all too obvious:

The Clinton group has a sense of entitlement, has no regard for people's democratic right to choose who to support and/or endorse, and sees people not as people but as nothing else as pawns toward the actualization of the Clintons' political ambition beyond which they are useless.

It is not a crime not to support or endorse or to oppose a candidate who would say or do anything to get elected. If Speaker Pelosi--a highly principled public servant--decides not to support liars, connivers, and cheats, she should be left alone to harbor her convictions.

Everything considered, I do not know what to make of Speaker Pelosi's comments.

However, I find it extremely distasteful that some people disparage her the way they have done. Speaker Pelosi is a distinguished and selfless servant of this country and the Democratic Party, who is entitled to her views, even if we don't always know what to make of them as I do in the present case.

To hear Clinton's supporters attack Pelosi because she has refused to endorse Hillary or makes comments that many may read to lean toward Obama is extremely disgusting. It has become common practice of Clinton campaign hacks, surrogates, and supporters to attack or diminish ANYBODY that supports, tends to support, or endorses Obama. When Bill Richardson endorsed Obama, apart from the lowest of the low Judas analogy, we were told he did so because he is angling to be VP and that Richardson's support would have had been of any use whatsoever if he had endorsed before the Texas primary.

It all reminds me of the very reason why I changed from a Hillary to Obama supporter.
While the Clinton camp engages in their mean-spirited orgy of condemnation, dismissals, and dimishing, I have NEVER EVER heard the Obama camp diminish, condemn, or dismiss anybody who decides to endorse Hillary. Whenever they have had anything at all to say, they usually say positive and uplifting things about the endorser.

Unfortunately, Bill Clinton does not seem to have had too many of that kind of "adult moment" lately....
