I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Barack Annie Oakley

Barack Obama hammered rival Hillary Clinton for her denunciation of his comments at a fundraiser in San Francisco, and he criticized her recent admission over the weekend that she was a hunter:

"Shame on her," Obama said, echoing one of Clinton's own atacks on him. "Shame on her, she knows better."

Obama said he was disappointed with her for her response and then launched into a new criticism of Clinton over her recent admission of being a hunter, and compared her sarcastically to Annie Oakley.

"She's running around talking about how this is an insult to sportsmen, how she values the Second Amendment, she's talking like she's Annie Oakley! Hillary Clinton's out there like she's on the duck blind every Sunday, she's packin' a six shooter! C'mon! She knows better. That's some politics being played by Hillary Clinton. I want to see that picture of her out there in the duck blinds."

Watch the video below:

A Surge Of New Voters in Pennsylvania Is Likely To Help Obama.

"...BRISTOL, Pa. — Sandra Jones, an unemployed transit worker, and college student Christy Race are part of 2008's biggest electoral phenomenon - an army of people who've never voted but are swarming to the polls this year.

Jones, 48, is under no illusion that an election can instantly get her a good job, but at least it offers hope. "Barack Obama reminds me of John F. Kennedy," she said. "There's something about his demeanor and the way he speaks."

Race, 19, finds Obama unusually inspiring, too — and, she said, Democratic rival Hillary Clinton is simply unacceptable. "She's too into politics, and I think Bill Clinton's controlling her," Race said.

Race and Jones are part of the throng of new voters who are overwhelming polls across the nation. When Pennsylvania holds its crucial April 22 presidential primary, voter participation is again expected to surge.

Since January, Pennsylvania has registered nearly 210,000 new voters. Seventy percent registered Democratic and 18 percent registered Republican...

...Candidates, she said, are also more actively courting the youth vote by "focusing more on issues young people care about," such as college tuition costs...

"Clearly they wouldn't have the same enthusiasm if Obama was not the nominee," said Bositis. "If the enthusiasm isn't there, it doesn't take much to say you're not voting..."

The DLC is doing everything they can to quash the progressive movement. From the post I've read around various blogs, the Dem. voters participating in these primaries, are no different than the Repug voters that elected dubya. Progressives are in TROUBLE.

Ms. Jones' memory is pretty remarkable, she was all of three years old when JFK died. Now, at the age of 48 she is a first time voter? Just saying....

Watching John Adams reminds me that even some of our greatest president were first and foremost flawed human beings. I worry about any candidate whose supporters think he walks on water and that nothing he ever says is misspoken or perhaps said at the wrong place to the wrong group at the wrong time.
I hope the Obama supporters here know and understand this concept. Their constant demonizing of Senator Clinton and beatifying Senator Obama really reminds me of the right. I find it frightening.

I agree. It is even deeper than you stated, this, I don't even have a proper word for it. Devotion? Loyalty? There seems to be some instinctual protective pheromone which permeates the country causing some of his supporters to blindly lash out. A perfect example would be the vile attacks on Mayhill Fowler for daring to publish Barack Obama's own words complete with an audio tape so everyone could get the full context.
I am of the opinion what he said about his VP choice reveals more about the man which frightens me than what his supporters think.

Again, Senator Clinton misleads the electorates by fibs - if not straight fabrications.

Probably there should be a law against that. Playing for the electorates is an old game and is much, much worse than receiving, as Senator Clinton did and does, millions in lobbyists' funds.

Who cares what this lying woman says anymore? I certainly don't as long as the press or the Obama camp point out the continuing string of untruths from this "I will say anything to get elected' candidate. Gobbells from German fame invented this process. Lie over and over until the people start to believe it's true.

Obama may be toning down some of Hillary's lies in order to preserve the Democratic base. In the unlikely event that Hillary is able to steal this nomination with the un-holy alliance of the party hacks (read Super Delegates), you can be sure that the Swift Boat people will be screaming the truth LOUD AND CLEAR if Hillary is the nominee.

Also, Nancy can probably have a farewell party for the Freshman Congress Representatives if Hillary is the nominee as she will guarantee to bring out every last Republican and Democratic Clinton hater to insure a massive defeat so that the witch will never seek National office again.

So typical of the right wing.

Suprise, suprise! http://www.gunowners.org/109srat.htm
That same report gives Obama a big fat "F"... According to their site " F = Anti-Gun Voter: a philosophically committed anti-gunner. "
http://www.gunowners.org/pres08/obama.htm
Obama is opposed to people using guns for self-defense, when those guns are owned in localities like Washington, DC and Chicago where firearms are banned.

Illinois resident Hale DeMar was prosecuted by the town of Wilmette for using a handgun in his home to defend his family in 2003. Because Wilmette had imposed a ban on the possession of handguns, several Illinois state legislators introduced SB 2165 to protect the right of self-defense for residents like DeMar.
True to form, Obama voted against the pro-gun legislation.
It is very telling that Obama moved further to the left than most of the liberal legislators in his state. The self-defense bill protecting gun owners like DeMar passed the state senate 41-16 and was later enacted into law over the governor's veto (and over Obama's opposition).
The concealed carry of firearms is another important issue for gun owners, and yet Obama is not only opposed to citizens carrying guns, he supports using federal laws to override those states which currently allow the practice.
In 2004, Obama said he supports a national ban on concealed carry because the states that allow it are "threatening the safety of Illinois residents."

Please explain why you believe that this clip displays sexism. As feminist, I'm not at all averse to the possibility. However, I've watched the excerpt twice & last night read a partial transcript - I detect no sexism in Senator Obama's remarks.

I would agree that he lampooned her statements about hunting, but I didn't think it was a particularly sexist or misogynist lampooning, just the straight-up mockery that we're all subject to when we exaggerate.

Is that really the best you can do to win support for your candidate? I don't support either candidate, but your comment does nothing to sway me, whether toward Senator Clinton or away from Senator Obama.

I'm not a "Hillary-hater." I suspect Senator Clinton is well-intentioned and the glimpses I've gotten of her sense of humour make me think she's probably a fun, good-natured person & less conservative than her husband. However, I disagree with her top-down approach to governance, her losing "fifty percent plus one" strategy and her tendency to vote in favour of reactionary policies then back-pedal later (Iraq, flag-burning, gov't censorship of video games, the bankruptcy bill, etc.).

Senator Obama's voting record, policy positions & the majority of his advisors are also too reactionary for my tastes. His list of contributors and exponentially fewer ties to the Establishment lead me to hope that he is less beholden to the military/industrial complex, but I haven't seen him prove it, yet.

Anyway, how about giving us a list of reasons to vote FOR Senator Clinton, instead of this petty political gaffe-mongering?

geriak -- God help us if people are voting on the basis of who is most knowledgible about duck hunting. You cite this as some kind of touché example of Obama being out of touch.

In assessing whether a candidate is or is not in touch with the concerns of everyday Americans knowledge of duck hunting does not make the list. I would argue that this kind of asinine who would you rather have a beer with (or go ducking hunting with) school of picking political candidates is fatally flawed -- a la George Bush (nothwithstanding the fact that "W" was selected and not to elected).

In terms of assessing who's in touch, I would be very concerned about a candidate who supported NAFTA as a First Lady but claimed to be against it from day one as a presidential candidate. I would be troubled by a candidate who campaigned against Columbian free trade deals while at the same time upper echelon members of her campaign staff are representing entities working to make such a deal happen. I would be concerned about a candidate steeped in and dependent upon corporate money to get elected. I'd be leary of any candidate making up stories about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia.

What proof do you have that Obama can "change" anything as president.

His voting record for the five minutes he was a US Senator before running for President is virtually exactly the same as Hillary.

Except for the fact he missed a lot more voting sessions than she did.

How did he "Change" things for the people of Illinois?

He hardly showed up.

And he lied to Tim Russert when he said he would fulfil his entire 6-year Senator term before he ever ran for president.

Months later he announced.

Obama doesn't want to "change" anything for America. He wants to go down in history books as the first black president. After that he will just coast till re-election time.

Hillary lied to the voters of New York when she said she wasn't going to use her Senate seat as a springboard to the presidency. If you had bothered to look at both candidate's voting records, you will see a big difference in a couple of areas. For instance, Hillary voted on the most vicious bankrupcy law in history and never showed up to vote against the telcos being given a get of jail card for spying on Americans. Obama's voting record in the Illinois senate was remarkable. I would suggest you get your information from somewhere besides Fox News.

Once again, Democrats seem determined to tear each other apart while Republicans lock step towards the Presidency to the media's tune to which everyone dances: like people calling for people to apologize for things. Just to pick two examples out of the air, both the reviled Reverend Wright and the disgraceful Bill Clinton have done a great deal of good in the world, far more good than perhaps the weight of their most grevious faults which we, of course, are all qualified to pass judgement upon. But is that getting us anywhere? Why do you think McCain is getting that smug, relaxed look? He's beginning to realize that his dream of Commander in Chiefdom is a sure thing because it's childishly simple to distract the voting public with insignificant events -- bitterness, bowling, relative commitment to religion and guns. As long as we're all distracted by things that allow us to vent our -- dare I say it? -- bitterness, we'll continue to participate in the apparently constantly simmering mass hysteria that the media whips up to boiling whenever we appear to be leaning towards having some sense. How could Senators Clinton or Obama come out of the other end of this insane and uncivil wringer untarnished? This constant unpleasant wrangling over very little may not be "harming" the country but it's also not "enobling" anyone, not "testing anyone by fire" not "exposing their true selves" but simply making it much more likely that we will have, unfortunately and deservedly,

Not necessarily hiding it - and your question displays the ignorance that many have - for complex tax returns that include any income from certain types of entities - an extension is almost always made. Certain forms of investment such as partnerships only give you estimates which you then use to file an extension - after paying what you believe you owe by April 15. You then have until August 15 to get the final information from those entities and file your final return.

At best, then by April 15 he could release estimates perhaps.

So go away with the "What is he hiding" crap until the results are in.

P.S. = I didn't note any umbrage over Billary's failure to show us their 2007 return? A little biased are we?
