He talks all that trash about Christians because that is the religion he knows and which has been proven to be domineering, righteous, dishonest and willing to hide shameful, horrifying, and destructive acts. I read lots of terrible things about Islam and was amazed to find that it all depends. If you look at women's rights then I think the Koran is way ahead of the Bible. But, in all fairness, PSR is not talking about the Bible versus the Koran. Islam is how it is practiced, not what it is supposed to be. And there is just as much to criticize in Islam as there is in Catholicism, if not more.

Interpretation of the Koran is guided by religious leaders. The same way Christians are taught about the bible.

I don't have much to say good about the Catholic church,
but I was raised in it. Alter boy.

I never had a priest who I even suspected was a child abuser,
not even now, as an adult.
I do recognize now that I was in danger from a Boy Scout adviser though.

But I knew a lot of alcoholic priests.

The church gets bashed, rightfully, because they still behave as if they were some medieval powerhouse. Centralized authority leads to centralized responsibility, they need to take responsibility.

When all these p…. things hit i was really upset because the Holy Sea did the corporate thing (yeah, i know they are the first and largest corp. in history) and tried to cover up and be on the down low.

What makes all this over the years so very despicable is the fact that they, of all institutions, have the resources to actually address the problem. The Church can use all its arms to research on especially a psychological level what makes these people of power, do so many abusive things.

When one thinks of this, you have got to think about the persecutions they have promulgated throughout history from the inquisition through justifying slavery. Could it be after their persecution at the hands of the Romans, they began to do what some persecuted groups have done?

The Catholic church has been hiding pedophilia for many, many years. The focus now is on molesting little boys but little girls have been/are being abused also and atrocious things have been done to little girls who get pregnant as a result of being molested by catholic priests.

I don't know why people continue to support this organization. If they have to have religion, why not become Episcopalian. Very similar to Catholicism and their ministers can marry and they recognize divorce.

I live in a small town and the molestation of alter boys in an adjacent town 2 years ago got more press than a situation that was unfolding locally with a "Christian non denominational minister" who was caught having sex with 4 under age 10 girls in his congregation since they were in diapers in the church daycare!!!! A REAL SICKO!
HE had roots in the community...home grown in fact and his "family" was spared with a quicky indictment, trial and NO JAIL time...I believe he got "deffered ajudication"...word is he moved to New Mexico where I doubt he registered as a sex offender as most do not. So much for justice for those little girls...there's no bank vault to loot in situations like this.
