I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Hillary Drinking

The Pennsylvania primary is around the corner, and with the votes of blue collar workers on the line, Democratic candidates are engaged in a full-blown beer-off.

Hillary started the weekend off right, chasing a shot of Crown Royal with a mug of Old Styles on Saturday.

Obama took some time during his Monday morning speech to the Alliance for American Manufacturing to question Hillary's swilling candor, as well as to attack charges that he is "out of touch" with the American public:

Now it may be that I chose my words badly. It wasn't the first time and it won't be the last. But when I hear my opponents, both of whom have spent decades in Washington, saying I'm out of touch, it's time to cut through their rhetoric and look at the reality.

After all, you've heard this kind of rhetoric before. Around election time, the candidates can't do enough for you. They'll "promise you anything, give you a long list of proposals and even come around, with TV crews in tow, to throw back a shot and a beer.

But if those same candidates are taking millions of dollars in contributions from the PACs and lobbyists, ask yourself, who are they going to be toasting once the election is over?

But not so fast. Not too long ago, Obama himself took a weekend trip to the bar, Yuengling in hand, according to the Politico:

He sipped a Yuengling beer, but his local knowledge fell short when he confessed he didn't know much about the regional brew widely consumed in Pennsylvania.

"You know I got a beer down there," Obama said to a male patron. "What do they call it? A Yuengling?"

"Yuengling," the man confirmed. "Like you didn't know."

"Trying a Pennsylvania beer, that's what I'm talking about," said Obama, his sleeves rolled up, smiling. "Is it expensive, though? ... Wanna make sure it's not some designer beer or something."

Crown Royal is Canadian whiskey. I guess this means Hillary supports NAFTA after all. Duh, I am aware a bar tender offered her the drink and she had little say as to whether the whiskey was bourbon or not. I am just pointing out how silly this is becoming. Meanwhile, Wachovia, America's fourth largest bank is reporting a serious drop in profits today and GE reported its worst quarter in five years, but this gets no coverage in the media of course. The main stream media is now absolutely barking mad over which presidential candidate is the most patriotic.

An electorate that considers style of alcohol consumption as worthy electoral criteria deserves what it gets.

Why is it when Obama says something negative - he's poking fun. But when Hillary does the same she's mocking?

After Hilliary sobers up, maybe she can ask Bill about the statements he made about white people. See below

Hillary knocking back that shot of Canadian whisky and chugging down that big beer is not an attractive pictiure of a candidate for president of the United States. The last thing we need is another boozer in the Oval Office.

The shots and beer image speaks volumes on many issues - to hang with the boys you have do boiler makers (wine is too feminine, I guess)? When do you think the last time she did a shot and beer in social occasions? Do Pennsylvanians really pick their candidate by whether or not they drink? If I were living a small town Pennsylvania I would be insulted by her behavior ... that this is the interpretation of the way of life in rural Pennsylvania.

"Wanna make sure it's not some designer beer or something." - caring if the beer you're drinking is "designer"? Hipster.

at least she can drink, unlike that "sipping" Obama. Are you pandering less if you're doing it badly? That what they used to say about McCain, now you're saying it about Obama.

As interesting as "who drank what and where" might be, what Obama was really getting at in the provided quote is not that somebody went to have a beer with cameracrews around, but that somebody is taking record amounts of money from PACs and federal lobbyists while pretending to be the average person-on-the-street. Obama is not taking the PAC or federal lobbyist money and he is making the claim that he is thus more accountable to the average citizens than the big corporations. I think that is something more interesting and important to discuss than Obama's (or Hillary's) drink choices.

I find this amazing - the people who have the least money vote for the riches candidate, the people with the most money vote for the poorest candidate? Puzzling.

You know what he meant lowry99....Obama is the least wealthy of the three candidates.....you sound very cynical, perhaps a little bitter?

Oh here we go every other anti Obama post includes the word "elitist now. I have a question, where was this new title for Sen. Obama before Hillary started using it? Talk about leading sheep.

Shame on Obama! Hillary is the real deal! She throws back a shot and a beer every night before she goes out duck hunting. Drunk and gun-toting - that's how I like my Presidents (but not my Vice Presidents).

That's all we need. A drunken liar, and a Casanova in the White House. Time for Hellary to kiss the nomination good bye. Too much drama. Who wants eight years of a soap opera?
She was for NAFTA, before she was against it.
She was against guns, before she was all for guns.
She was for the workers, before she voted for the Bankruptcy Bill.
She is "against" the Combia trade deal, but she does not fire Penn. (Maybe Penn knows some secrets)
But hey, she will be for ANYTHING that gives her a chance, whatever remote.
Pathetic!
